I'd say it's a little of both...especially when someone is throwing "joking" comments at someone known to be "overly sensitive"...
I mean, if I go to my friend's house and say, straight faced, "Oh man, I f-ed your girlfriend GOOD last night", but I'm REALLY just joking, he's still justified in knocking me on my arse.
There's at least a person or two who'll use (or have used) that defense to take potshots at other posters, and it's juvenile B.S.

Well I'm taking myself out of this, that's for sure. I deal with enough crap at other message boards, my time here has been nothing but positive.
In no way did I mean personal offense to ANYONE on the board. Obviously we all have our friends on here, but I don't dislike anyone. I like Swarm quite alot, and I was also pretty friendly with Tafkaga. I like Pitbull too, though I don't agree with his stance on all of this.
What I threw out in the other games forum was meant as a joke. If it was taken as a personal attack it was taken the wrong way, and I am sorry for that. I'll make sure to temper my jokes a bit more, and reserve them for those who can handle them.
So peace, good wishes, and all that. Life is too short and I for one wont play the Swarm to Pitbulls' Tafkaga, or vice versa.

Case in point, I peruse the boards and I see a newcomer to the boards Splattercat already being attacked and judged because of how many posts he has on the boards. If you're referring to my "for someone who's only been posting for a week" comment, you're way off on the "attacked" bit. Splattercat made a sweeping generalization about the overall attitude of the board (or at least the WWE/TNA areas) that, while a legitamite first impresion (especially lately), was ultimately incorrect in the "big picture". EDIT: Nevermind, I see what (else) you were talking about.

Well Offspring, I am up for a bit of ribbing and a great joke as anyone. But, again under the light of the recent circumstances on these boards as of late, posts have been getting taken totally out of context by all members involved in the "Hardcore debates" including myself with your apparent kidding around.
Hopefully this misunderstanding will not cloud your or my judgment again. I too enjoy the discussions when they stay positive. Lets all walk away from this with a better understanding and move forward on the boards. Have a good week and have an even greater weekend, bud.

I have to agree that smileys do help differentiate between jokes and non jokes. I realize that people can be overly sensitive sometimes but how are they to know what you intend to mean if you don't signify that somehow ie a smiley. On the other hand if you find yourself getting actually mad about something said on these boards then it is time to step back for a minute and take a breather. Basically I got sick of having to defend my opinion in the TNA thread so it has come to the point where I rarely post there and when I do I often don't get back to the thread to see what others said to my opinion. I enjoy posting my opinions on things but I don't have time to constantly defend my opinion and repeat myself. Everybody is welcome to there own opinion so why can't we all just get along. Still with all this, this board is much more civilized that others I have been to.

can't we all get along? Or simply bash Scimitar for awhile rather than Plethador?

Personally, I'd rather pick on Silvar, but I'm more into Early Classics than Subversion, so your mileage may vary.
I'm sure SOMEONE here would rather be ragging on Noxious, S.D. Jones or J.J. Smooth.

Koko and Doring seem rather jobberific...

Well, Koko actually held his own in a feud against the Missing Link for me, while Jones can't beat Virgil...and they're both black, so Koko still wouldn't get me out of the doghouse.
As for Doring, I still don't have Legends Fever, so no comment.
