Unfortunate developments on the Boards

It is with great regret that I announce the following firsts for these discussion boards:
Swarm has been banned from these boards for severely harassing -- if not outright threatening -- other members via PM, and then repeatedly evading his temporary ban by posting as a guest. If anyone sees any new posts that appear to have been made by him, please PM a member of the staff and let us know where so we may take care of it.
Also, guest posting has finally been disabled. I apologize to our regular guests who may be inconveninced by this, but it was a long time coming and Rob's actions have finally pushed that wagon over the edge. Guests will stil lbe able to access and read all of the threads (other than the Aadmin forum, obviously). (On a somewhat related note, while I was adjusting the permissions for each forum, I also arranged it so that polls can only be made in the "poll" forums.)
Finally, I have reinstated the registration confirmation; this may be temporary, but until further notice please be aware that new accounts may take a day or two in order to become active.
I realize that these actions will meet with a mixed reaction, and that they will be very unpopular to some of you.
I don't care; as admin, this is my job. It's not one I wanted to do, but I don't bluff about these things and my hand was forced.
If you want to PM me about it, fine; any public discussion about this, beyond this announcement, will be deleted (positive or negative). If you want to leave, that's your decision. To the rest of you, let's just put this behind us.
I will un-announce this post in one week, after which it will remain in the "announcement" forum.
UPDATE 12/14/05: Swarm re-instated after some diplomacy
