FInally got through the NWA book. Had been putting it off for a while for a variety of reasons. Decent enough, wish the story was told in a more linear method as opposed to jumping around a lot. Going to start a book entitled "Busting Vegas" about some MIT kids who go to Vegas. I know there's another book similar to this out as well.

Going to start a book entitled "Busting Vegas" about some MIT kids who go to Vegas. I know there's another book similar to this out as well. Yeah, I haven't read that book yet, but living here in Las Vegas I know all about that story of the MIT students who figured out how to beat the odds. If that book is about the same group of MIT students I'm remembering, they won millions of dollars before the casinos caught them and then they got banned from The Strip. I think the other similar book you're thinking of is called "Bringing Down the House." I often see both of those books whenever I go to McCarran Airport here in Las Vegas at the airport bookstores among the section for Las Vegas associated books. When I finish Batista's book that I got from the libarary and probably after I read the 2 wrestling books I got for Christmas, I think the next Las Vegas book I'm going to read is "The Battle for Las Vegas: The Law vs. The Mob" which is about the FBI's battle against the Chicago Outfit's control of organized crime here in Las Vegas during the 1970s and the early 1980s. I got it from McCarran Airport before one of my flights to Seattle last year and I got it from the same section of Las Vegas books that included the 2 you mentioned about the MIT students.

Well overall, I'm glad I read it for free from the library instead of paying for the book (I saved that $ for beer or for something else ). But if you really like Batista (I personally have no problem with him) than you should definitely read the book. Edit: Let me know what you think about "Busting Vegas" when you finish that book.

Just Read "Adam Copeland on Edge" . Originally this was a christmas present for Mrs B about 2 years ago . Adam Copeland wasn't he in that band , the Police ? . Only joking . Stories of Adam growing up as a kid in Canada . Starting out in wrestling with his friend Jay (WWE/TNA's Christian) . His tag matches with The Hardys and The Dudleys . Though is it me or is ever Edge match in his eyes , "Rated as match of the year contender" . Not many wrestling secrets given away (no bad mouthing about any wrestler) . In the book Edge hasn't won the world title yet . Another wrestle that worked through injures . Not a bad book , I have read better . This and Bobby Heenan's must be battling it out for bottom (jobber) spot .

"Busting Vegas" is actually a quicker reader then I thought. rather enjoying it. should be done in the next few days. I would say I like it better so far then the other gambling book I read entitled "The Smart Money".

"From Belief to Conviction" by Josh McDowell. A book about how to instruct your teenage kids about the rational basis of Christianity. Did I mention that my son dyed a blue streak in his hair?
Last wrestling read was "Controversy Creates Cash" by Eric Bischoff. Still haven't completed it, but it has been an interesting read.

Finished Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad, which is a very frightening, yet inspirational book about personal financing. That book also inspired me to finally read Peter Lynch's One Up on Wall Street, although it hasn't inspired me enough to finish it yet. In the mail currently is Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy, which I have heard many good things about. Another author I would like to get around to reading is Tom Robbins, whose stuff is generally reputed to be just one big clusterf*** that is just way out there...

just got done busting vegas. Liked it a lot actually. Lots of twists and turns. I really cared about the people in the story because I feel like I know people like that. I love Vegas and I grew up in MA and thats were most of the story takes place so I found it easy to relate to.
I would recommend it., it's a quick read.. I did skip over the afterword because he got into a lot of the technical stuff about the system and I found it tough to follow without visual aids. Other then that a great story!

I recently finished reading Philip K Dick's "Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said."
Definitely not his best book.

Just finished Pain and Passion the history of Stampede wrestling. This book gives the highs and lows of one of the longest running promotions. The book gives details and insight to some of the oldtimers who had legit beefs like Stu Hart and Gene Kiniski to the Bret and Shawn feud and all kinds of little side stories and interviews. I would give this a higher ranking then most books on wrestling that I have read.

Kristen Isaac's Reflections
It's a book of poetry by Kristen Isaac.
Inspiration seems to come from the oddest of places like "ANTS" which is a serious poem about killing fire ants in the front yard.
