Which universe is the better or tougher. I have read comics foe 25+ years now and I still don't know. I looked at the various DC vs Marvel books and the writers usually made the heroes battle to a draw. When the fans voted the outcome was ridiculous in a few of the outcomes. Wolverine beat Lobo that one still has me stumped.
The closest that we came to an outcome was the most recent Marvel vs DC. Yes Superman beat Thor but I have seen the Hulk beat Thor and Sups has beat the Hulk on 2 occasions.
So what I am putting out there is what universe could win in a war and please leave the infinity gems out of this DC has the Lords of Order and Chaos and DC fans leave them out of this.

Well generally DC has heroes (and villians) that are just vastly, supremely powerful. Some of the feats that Superman has done (like pushing planets) or situations/ enemies Battyman defeats are ridiculous. Due to one writer in the 90s, some people have it in their head that no matter who Batman faces: Joker, Zeus, Galactus or God herself, Batman will win.
So I would say DC.

I agree with Turkish here... Marvel's heroes are much more 'street level' on average than DC, that's always been the case, and (I think) is by design. I've read and heard a lot about how when Marvel was starting out in the 60s Stan Lee set out to create characters that were more like average people (as opposed to Superman and Wonder Woman) Of course, the fan boy smark in me would answer the company who printed the crossover's last issue would win

I like Marvel better, though i think the DC movies are just as good. I don't know why Batman would be made unbeatable when it is obvious he has no powers and is a more realistic charcter. With all this said, with the crazy stuff Marvel has done in the last decade or so, they're really trying to screw it all up.

The Wolverine/Lobo.......ahhh what popularity does for a guy.
Anyways, I've always preferred DC and Marvel has been in and out of messes for about the last decade anyways.

Yeah, I hated that whole DC/ Marvel thing because iut was a popularity contest.
And Thor fought frigging Shazam. While that dude is reciting what Greek Gods he gets his powers from, Mjolnir would ran over him like a friggin, well, flying hammer. Shazam this.
After this, Wizard ran an issue where they talkd about who would really win in a crossover fight. Lobo was justified over Wolvie, Cap triumphed over Battyman and Thor crawled away, barely, after besting Superman.
I, for once, could not agree more with Wizard in that issue.

I agree that both universes have their lists of heavyweights but it's how they use those heroes/villains that can make or break them. I loved marvels Gladiator that was until Nova creamed him in a fight. This is a guy who fought Thor and Surfer to a standstill and then gets punched out bu NOVA what the hell!!!. And yes Frank Miller making Batman undefeatable is nonsense. How about Supes blasting him from space or say punch him. Maybe the Flash comes in at light speed and say punches him. There are only 2 people I have read that beat Batman soundly and that was Wonder Woman in the story Hiketa and Prometheus in the JLA books.
Stan Lee and Jack Kirby did create more human characters with human weaknesses and that's why Spiderman and the X-men were solid reads back then but Marvel is killing them with their "continuity" fixes. And if you want to see Marvels new creation it a Captain America/Punisher combo, truly frightening.

I like Superman and Batman, but Marvel's character's always seemed cooler. Aquaman, no, Prince Namor the Submariner! The Flash, no Quicksillver! Thor , Captain America, The Hulk. Iron Man was interesting. I don't read the stuff anymore just follow a little on the internet. I guess he's turned into Hitler. I was a super Spidey fan, but then made us buy 4 books a month to follow the stories, the Clone saga (need i say more), The Goblin returns (he got impaled and died, he aint Superman, Marvel!) and then they had The Goblin father children of Gwen Stacy, read. Who writes for them these days, sicko's?

I can't stand Quicksilver....Flash is much cooler. That said, Marvel definitely has some cool characters in there. Marvel is very bad about bringing back anyone and everyone who died.

The only guy they have kept dead was the original Captain Marvel, and a few no name villians.

The only guy they have kept dead was the original Captain Marvel Wrong! They just brought him back during the Civil War and he's getting his own series. Seriously. From Wikipedia: [edit] The Return Mar-Vell returns during Marvel's Civil War event.[2] This version of the character has been plucked out of space/time after his battle with Nitro but before he starts to show signs of his illness. Although he appears healthy, Mar-Vell is made aware that his body harbors the cancer that will one day kill him. The one-shot ends with Mar-Vell donning his Nega Bands in order to serve as the warden of the Negative Zone prison and save it from destruction. It is unknown if Marvel is aware of the existence of his children Genis-Vell, Phyla-Vell and Hulkling. Oh Crap! I REALLY wanted to say you were wrong! But I cannot! Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!!!

I guess no one really dies in comics thanks to stupid alternate timelines. Give Captain America maybe a year before he shows his face again after dying last week.

I can't stand Quicksilver....Flash is much cooler. I never cared for either of them. The whole "Ooooh look, I can run fast..." power never seemed that awesome to me when Hulk is throwing Tanks around and Silver Surfer can do just about anything he wants. DC may have "bigger" (read more powerful) heroes, but Marvel has interesting ones. My bets are on Marvel every time. Big Time

Yeah, I'm a Marvel Zombie through and through. They have more interesting characters.
Ireally think they wanted to kill or do away with Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker, et al all those years ago, I just think the fan reaction was pretty harsh. (do not even get me started on the Ben Reilly /Clone Saga)

Yeah he'll come back from the grave. I guarantee they'll say "it was the super soldier formula. he was in suspended animation; again!"

I really give it about 2 and a half or three years, but yeah Steve Rogers will assume the mantle again.
