I do mine through internet mail orders so I get a discount on things. But I've always been a big spender as far as comics.

I sadly don't have the money for a pull list anymore... I've sorta swtiched to trades (since I work at a book store and can get them for cost) Just because I'm good that way, here a couple things you should add Maddog Fables - Best Comic Ever. bar none. It's mostly in trades, so you could pick one up to check it out. Astro City, Invincible, Spidergirl - Looks like you're into the superhero stuff, it doesn't get better than these two. Astro City is Kurt Busiek's own universe,. .every character you see you'll think "Damn, how did no one think of this before?) Invisible is lossely set in the Image-verse, but mostly its own think.. very early-Spidey like. Both have a slight tendency to be late shipping, but both are worth the wait. Spidergirl is very old school marvel, set in the future (its about Baby May as a teenager) with lots of cool nods to the "past" . I think its getting cancelled soon, but its all in trafes (I think in nice manga-sized digests for $7.99 each) Conan - Barbarian goodness, can't beat it!

I've thought about getting Astro City with the Wildstorm relaunch stuff. Invincible I won't get because I don't support Image Comics anymore due to constantly being screwed by them in the 90s with 2 issues of a promising series coming out and the creator suddenly deciding they wanted to do something else.

Due to budgetary concerns, I had to cut back on my comic book reading. But I still get:
Incredible Hulk Moon Knight Action Comics Flash Justice League of America Astonishing X-Men Hawkgirl (The title is in a slump, but I have every Hawkman comic since The Shadow War of Hawkman from the 1980's so I gt this just to keep my collection up to date.) Ultimate Spider-man
And Wildfire, Spider-girl is being relaunched as The Amazing Spider-girl. I have never read this title but have heard A LOT of good things about it so I will check out the relaunch.

I kind of take a different approach it seems to comic collecting. I've noticed titles can disappoint me and that I prefer the creators so I take up things from them:
Garth Ennis Brian Bendis (Powers is incredible) some Straczynski (he's sketchy) Bill Willingham Kurt Busiek Brian K. Vaughn (another hit or miss one) Jeff Smith Paul Chadwick (just discovered Concrete) Alan Moore Eric Powell Dave Simm
For the most part I'm not huge into superhero comics though I do pick them up, I much prefer incredible dialogue in a realistic and tense setting.
The stuff I look most forward to reading every month is Fables, Y the last man, & Powers. They are incredible books that create such a rich world that you can't help but be drawn in.
For great fun and easy reads I love, absolutely love Punisher from Ennis and Eric Powell's Goon. These books are so over the top in both of characters and violence that they're just a fun read.

I've never been big on Garth Ennis. He's a little too violent for my tastes.

I hear you about Image.. but its totally different management now.. they're really mainly a collection of creator-owned books now., its really a far cry from the Valentino/Liefield Era

Eastman and Laird's TMNT Vol.4.
The title has been on hiatus for several months so I've been checking out Tales of the TMNT.

Favorites in the past were DK2 and the Dark Knight returns. I'm a big fan of Frank Millar's work. Sin City is also a very impressive title. As was Ronin. Although I think his Sin City style sorta spilled over into DK2 and sorta ruined it. At leats compared to the original work, DKR.
Barry Windor Smith is also one of my favorites.
James O Barrs Crow series were also an interesting title that I stayed with briefly. His original book was one of the most beautiful pieces of comic book writing/art I've ever seen.

Is anyone else reading The Boys by Garth Ennis? Absolutely it'll be very interesting to see where he goes with it. Though i think i have a good idea if you've ever read his Kev-Authority style take on every man vs. a superhero.

That's great! Are they changing things or is it just a new #1 to try to drive sales? The Amazing Spider-girl relaunch is simply a new #1 to make the title accessible to new readers. The book has such a loyal reader base that Marvel does not want to cancel it, but they need to improve the sales on it. It worked with me. I am planning on checking it out.

cool, I don't usually approve of such things, but I'll make an exception.
BTW, if you're looking for the older stuff, they have Manga-sized digests of about half the current series... other than being a bit smaller, they're the same as the regular comics, and CHEAP.

That #1 scheme is so common place now I don't know why they even bother these days. You maybe get a boost for a month or two and that's it.
I thought the JSA reboot was totally unnecessary. They finally got the book to stick and they're really taking a risk messing with it.

My stuff changes from month to month depending who is working where. for the most part anything with: Miller Bendis Morrison i gotta have thank god there working on my favorite titles anyway
regular pulls regardless: Batman Detective Whatever Superman looks readable that month Astonishing X-men Civil War 52 New Avengers Hulk Ultimates U. FF(really good) U.Xmen U. Spiderman Wolverine Orgins JLA All Star Batman All Star Superman Walking Dead Whatever failing book I dont need( I always can pick um) THE BOYS!!!!!
If your not reading the Boys and like dark humor I cant recommend this enough. There is enough sex and violence to keep any jaded reader happy for a month.
I will pull any book that a buddy recommends as well.
