This stems from the New Avengers thread that Wildfire, Turkish and myself have recently been active on.
If you could pick any active writer, artist, and characer(s) for a comic, what would your dream team be?
I'm going with Marvel Team Up starring Spiderman, with Mike Allred doing the art and Alan Moore on writing. Allred's Madman is one of my favorites, because it shows Allred's love for comics in general, and is a fun book. Alan Moore has shown that he could pretty much write anything, but I'm particularly thinking of the 1963 mini-series he did with Image in 93. Marvel Team Up, and the DC version, DC Presents were always my favorites. It was great seeing Spider-man having adventures with other heroes every month. It made you feed like there actually was a Marvel Universe, unlike now, when there's the X-Men, and then there's everyone else. I think Moore and Allred would put out a great product every month, and not a long drawn-out snooze fest.

Jim Lee and Frank Miller on Batman would be a dream team for me. Lee's art pays great homage to the Dark Knight while still feeling very modern. Although Miller missed with "The Dark knight Strikes Again", he's still my pick to write a modern Batman story. His injection of pulp noire and grit into a Lee - drawn series would do what Miller did for Daredevil back in the eighties.

Hi Rings, since you asked...
Miller/Lee are doing All-Star Batman and Robin this summer...
Its going to be self contained, so they'll be no continunity issues.. should be fun
For myself, I'd like to see Fabian Nicenza and Pat Zircher back on a New Warriors book, and Busiek/Perez on the Titans.

I had heard about that series, but I've been so busy with school that I never investigated. I'm going to have to get that! Thanks for the heads up!

I am honestly out on who the creators are anymore. Most of these creative teams change people as often as I change underwear (which is every day, thank you very much!)
Here goes: I enjoy Mark Waid a lot, Christopher Priest does some really good stuff. And Dan Jurgens has been given the go ahead to alter to of the best in comic history.
Art wise, I love Ron Garney, who did a run on Captain America with Waid a few years ago. Dale Kewon's stuff was always good. Raphael Kranyan (sp) did a fine job on the Conan the Adventurer series about ten years ago (do not know if he is still around) .
I would have to with Jurgens writing and Garney art on Thor. I think Jurgens had some really good ideas, and really added to the character.
I would also like to see Keown and Waid on Pitt, just to see the character back in use. I think Waid could write some good stories for that character.
Priest did a great job with Deadpool. I would like to see him back there, and stop making the character such a bumbling oaf. Deadpool is becoming Homer Simpson.

Hey Turkish - Dan Jurgens wrote Thor for quite a while (see the New Avengers thread) I'm not sure if Ron Garney is still around, I don't think he's done anything since Cap I'm not sure I agree with you that Waid would work on a "kewl" 90s character like Pitt, but maybe... IF you like Waid, he's be doing Fantastic Four for about 3 yrs or so, very good stuff.. Every book Priest writes seems to get cancelled... I'm not too into the character, but he has a pretty long run on Black Panther that is critically acclaimed -- Wildfire

I think maybe his problem is that he tries to tell intricate storeis ina pop forum. He maybe needsto expand and try novels or something, but I still enjoy his work. Have not checked out Waid's work on F4

I have about 10 issues of Waid's run on FF. Good stuff. The only thing I didn't like was that the way he wrote the Human Torch, Torch seemed about 19, instead of 30ish (same age as Spider-Man). Waid probably had the best FF run since the John Byrne run.

I thought the stuff were the Torch was in charge of FF Inc. (The business end of the team) was really good bot story and character wise... it portrayed Johnny as childish, yet knowing (mostly) when to be serious.
The most recent Galactus are is all about Johnny, for the most part.. if you like him, you should check it out... he's Herald for a bit... very cool stuff.

I liked Herald of Galactus storyline. I thought it was pretty cool having Torch and IW switch powers for awhile, since HT is my favorite FF member. Aren't we due for the once-every-five-years FF lineup change that lasts for six months or so?

Yes, under normal circumstances, but Wolverine, Spiderman, Cage and Daredevil are AVENGERS now, so that sorta limits who gets to play FF member these days.
Man, I HATE the current run of Avengers.

I don't know much about writers, artists, etc.
But my dream team of comic characters would be Blade, Ghost Rider, & Punisher. RAR!

The creative team I would like to see are...
Geoff Johns - Writer (JSA)
Phil Hester - Penciller (Green Arrow #1-#21)
The book I would like to see Johns and Hester work on would be BIG BANG COMICS. To see Johns and Hester work on characters like Knight Watchman, The Blitz, The Beacon, Ultiman, Thunder-Girl and the many other heroes from the Big Bang Universe. Johns work on JSA would fit well in the Big Bang Universe and the art of Hester would make the characters look cool.

Is Big Bang that awesome or do you work there? Is it anything like the 1963 series from Image?

No I do not work there, I'm just a fan of this book from Image. It is a break from the current line of books. It take's stereotypes and pays homage to the past and present of the comic book industry. Plus, just like our Filsinger Games owner, Gary Carlson head of Big Bang has taken time and has talked with me via snail-mail and e-mail many times over the years. He knows the fans count, and they might not put out the best books every time out, but they put a solid book none the less.
CotG and LoW are the greatest game, and IMO Big Bang Comics is one of the best in my comic book collection.

I guess I'll have to give Big Bang a try next time I get back into comics. Sounds good.
