I bought Flair's book today. ;D
I'm about 3/4 through it and I think this maybe the best of the many wrestling books I've read so far. (topping the Dynamite Kids as my personal favorite)
the Nature Boy has A LOT of great stories to tell in this one about his whole career.

Got to agree 100%. I bought it the other day, and I'm about halfway through and have loved every second of it. I haven't read any other wrestler biographies, though I've read parts of Steve Austin's, Mick Foley's first one, Hogan's, and Classy Freddie Blassie's, but this one has just been so much better. Lots of insider stories from the seventies and eighties, the territories, NWA, WWF, Japan, Mid Atlantic....just a great read. If I could recommend only one book to people right now, it would be this one. Truly entertaining.

I finished Flair's book in three days. I loved it and couldn't put it down knowing there were always great stories ahead. I hadn't heard about his slam of Mick Foley in advance, so I was surprised when I read it. The same with some other people he slammed.
Flair writes from his exalted position as THE wrestling legend, judging others from his higher point of view. Overall, I think he's on the mark. And he leaves himself pretty vulnerable when he talks candidly about his own insecurities.

I had heard about the slaming of Foley before hand but was suprised to hear him slam Bruno, Bret and even the Steiners. Flair's was also the first book I read that had anything nice to say about Lex Luger. Austin, Hogan and I think maybe Bobby Heenan bashed Luger pretty bad in their books.

I finished Flair's book rather quickly too. I thought it was a great book, Flair really didn't pull any punches and nothing was really too sacred to talk about. Contemplating which book I should get next heard Dynamite's is great, might get that one.

I know this off the Flair topic, but what's the title of Dynamite Kid's biography. I've looked, but can't find it. Thanks.

I finished Ric Flair's book in three days. It is an excellent read, and could be enjoyed by wrestling fans, as well as non-fans. Many of the people he blasted in the book had it coming. While I don't completely agree with his assessment of Mick Foley, I do believe that Foley was a great beneficiary of having had the right style at the right time.
After reading his criticisms of Bret Hart, I thought back. Closing my eyes, I could actually remember "The Hitman" performing the exact sequence Flair mentions in nearly every match. He was very good at providing enetertaining matches, though.
I have heard similar criticisms of Bruno, as well, but perhaps not as harsh as Flair's. His firing on Scott Steiner does not surprise me at all, as I have always thought Steiner came off like a piece of garbage.
All in all, this is a tremendous book from the very best to ever ply his chosen trade. It was also good to hear someone speak about Vince resembling something other than the Antichrist.

Flair's book is great until...the part when he (SPOILERS)
Gets to the WWE. I know Flair appreciated what Vince and Triple H did for him, but my gosh, can he kiss their butts anymore!!??! This is Ric Freaking Flair, the greatest.
The first part when he was breaking in, being champ, Horsement and his treatment in WCW was fantastic. Just when he started the WWE part I got a sick feeling in my stomach.
I talked with ace the other day and I love Funks book. He's honest and it's like he's sitting down next to you just telling his story.
But pick both up. Highly recommended!!!

Trav, I posted very similar thoughts on Flair's book after I read it. You're exactly right my friend. Add HBK to that list as well.

I finally have finished reading Ric Flair's book . Okay alot of people say all he raves about is Arn Anderson , Triple H & Shawn Michaels . To be truthful , he does . But there are some great stories told . Alot of what he says about wrestling events/views seems to make alot of sense to me . If you get passed the cocky/arrogant start of the book . You will love it . I would say 8 out 10 .
(My next book to read is "Burning Britian" about the 1980's UK punk bands like The Exploited / Discharge \ GBH / UK Subs etc)

I've read Flair's book twice and both times it was great! Oh well...guess I have too much time on my hands. On a related note, I've also read HBK's book, Eddie Guerrero's book, Lita, Edge, WWE Legends, Jerry Lawler, Kurt Angle, Chyna, and both of Mick Foley's (I have the first Foley book signed...woohoo!). In any case, My favorites of those are Flair, Lawler, and Legends, while the absolute worst, IMO, was Kurt Angle's.

I've read Flair's, Hogan's, Foley's, Rock's and Dynamites...by far the best Dynamite...the most honest by far...really gives you a sense of the back stabbing that goes on in the world of wrestling to get ahead.
