If anyone knows what the current status of the following characters are, let me know. My comic reading has been sporadic at best for the past six months, though some are lingering questions from last century. These are all Marvel characters, but I'm sure I don't have to tell any of you that. Thanks muchly. - Speedball
- Nomad
- Spider-man 2099
- Dr. Doom
- Darkhawk
- the Super-Skrull
- Silver Surfer
- Namor the Sub Mariner

Nomad was recently killed in the Cap mini: Out of Time. We find out by whom in the next and last issue.

Darkhawk is inactive. I'm currently trying to collect the entire set.

New Warriors just got re-booted.. they're going a reality tv gimmick for the book...I haven't read it yet, but the preview are was very manga.. I don't have very high hopes..
- Spider-man 2099
2099 is no longer being published... Miguel does pop up somehow though.. he was in a could issues of Captain Marvel last year. Also, Exiles (think Sliders with X-Men characters) is doing a "World tour", with one of the worlds being the 2099 universe, so I'd be Spidey 2099 will be there.
- Dr. Doom
Dead, but sure to be back soon.. You can see him in Ultimate FF, where he is much like the movie version.
- Darkhawk
Currently in a group called Excelsior, a support group for former child superheroes (Turbo from NW is also in the group).. can be found in the page of Runaways (great book btw)
- the Super-Skrull
Not sure in the regular MU, but he's the main baddie in the last storyline in Spidergirl.
- Silver Surfer
They're doing a new Defenders book with Keith Giffen ( ala the Blue and Gold JLA era).. He'll be there
- Namor the Sub Mariner
Last appeared in New THunderbolts, trying to stop some Atlantean terrorists from destroying the un
If you want more details, let me know and I'll see what I can do

Giffen, the Defenders, and the Silver Surfer. I may have to return to comics yet again, but only if the Defenders have someone to play off the Surfer's seriousness.
I'd like to see Spiderman 2099 arrive in the present day Marvel universe, then have the whole power and responsibily struggle, but with the temptation of using his knowledge of the future for personal gain and worrying about changing the future at every turn.
I didn't know Exiles was Sliders with X characters. Good thing I didn't pitch my Defenders as Sliders to Marvel. I was thinking of the Watcher using a crew of misfits to keep reality from coming unraveled in various universes.

Judging by the previews, Defenders should be alot of fun.. its going to be the "classic" lineup with Hulk, Namor, Dr. Strange and Surfer.
I LOVE 2099 and would love to see it come back, but I don't see it happening.
Exiles is a decent read if you're into Marvel... its the closest thing to What if going.. I got a trade recently and 1 story was on a world where the legacy virus turned all the superheroes into evil Douglocks, while the other was one where Tony Stark took over as Dictator for Life, while the Inhumans were the resistance movement... Its a fun book if you want some to read that isn't connected to the Marvel universe, but has all the marvel characters in it.

The Defenders is being written by the same group that did the Team formerly known as the justice league...and in my opinion is one of the funniest sets of comics ever. Even my girlfriend who is not into comics was laughing at this issues.
