In my current collection are two worthy title's, one is from DC COMICS and the other is a IMAGE COMICS title.
I was a huge JLA fanboy, but that book just got off track with the big name heroes, so in the classic days of the old JLA comes the JSA. This title brings old heroes with newer versions of older members of the original JSA. In the last story arc Hawkman and Black Adam along with the JSA had a great showdown in Black Adams home country. This is a book you should check out if you want a classic title with the splash of the present.
The other book I'm going to talk about is my all time favorite book in comicdom...
BIG BANG COMICS is a book brought to you by Gary Carlson and several others, like Erik Larson and Alex Ross whose done some covers. This is a retro / homage book, you have characters like the Knight Watchman which is Bing Bangs Batman, while Ultiman is a version of Superman.
Big Bang Comics comes out when they get a book done, but when it is out it is worth the buy. The books are Black -n- White, some in the beginning started in color but the cost was too much since this is a book thats made by people who love to make comic books.
I would say look into this title, you can visit the Big Bang site at bigbangcomics.com

I love Savage Dragon... it is great book that hits the mark month after month... another good one that i think people who frequent this board will dig is the Holy Terror by image. There are only two issues out (to my knowledge.) but they rock! Its about a struggling second generation wrestler trying to get over but accidently gets involved with a possesed wrestling mask called the holly terror. Mike von Omeg does the art and to be honest i wasnt too into him till i picked up this book. Give it a read.

The Savage Dragon appeared in 4 issues of Big Bang Comics, where he was the main focus of a Time Travel Story. You can find him in these issues... #12, #14, #18 and #22. This was a really awesome story, the story was written by Gary Carlson. I would order these books if you like Dragon and want to find out more on a great title like Big Bang Comics.

I read Savage Dragon for the first couple years it was out. I loved it, but I figured that it went the way of most of the early Image books and either fell off or ended its run.

Add issue #33 of Big Bang Comics to the Savage Dragon Timeline storyline.
