This is from Continental Wrestling around 1989. Listen as Gordon Solie sells the heck out the merits of this contest and the natural wrestling ability of bears. I had never seen this before and was just stunned at the entertainment value.

I had never seen this before and was just stunned at the entertainment value. This is one of those 'only in pro wres' type segments. I've seen this done in other territories but never really saw much of a pay off. Was going to a 'draw' with the bear supposed to get the Smothers over? Act as a feel good special attraction comedy segment? A little of both? Who knows....but where was PETA? "Bears are natural wrestlers...they instinctively know a snap mare, a leg sweep...they don't know some of the 'finer holds' such as the figure four or what have you...all the basic holds are natural with them...and this bear...although he's very amiable by nature..."-the incomparable Gordon Solie attempts to sell the inherently ridiculous as somewhat sublime

I bet Badger, Battering Ram, and Reptillo spit a case of Natural Light and had a lot of laughs watching this clip in 2088.
