Deja vuThe top down management of Jim Herd was to blame for this...and there never was a mapped out 'ending'. JH thought the pro wres 'magic' of the villainous Black Scorpion would sell...but his thoughts never developed much beyond that.

I love what Flair says about this on the Four Horseman DVD...He basically said something to the effect that all during the night after the Black Scorpion was unmasked, he ran around the hotel yelling, "STING!" as the Black Scorpion. Ridiculous, is what Flair said. Of course, it was minor compared to a lot of the crap we've seen on wrestling programming in the 2000s.
