Okey we all have a moment that got us into wrestling, there are two moments that got me into watching wrestling, the first is what got me into watching wrestling and the other sold me even more on the wrestling world.
1.) I remember camping at my Uncle Charles farm, knowing he was not my uncle but we called him that, he was a relative none the less... we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner and what not in a garage type building that had a sink and fridge within, plus we had a Black & White TV... anyway, I remember watching wrestling on that very TV and I saw SWEET EBONY DIAMOND wrestle several times that summer, the moment I remember the most was when he unmasked and was ROCKY JOHNSON. At the time I didn't know who Rocky Johnson was, but I thought it was cool that it was him. It was both a disappointment that Sweet Ebony Diamond unmasked but he moved on as Rocky Johnson one of my all time favorite wrestlers, and thats what got me into wrestling.
2.) It was another summer and I was watching the AWA and I saw for the very first time a tag team that just shook my view on wrestling, this tag team ran to the ring and finished the match before their entrance song finished. This tag team we all know as the LEGION OF DOOM, the ROAD WARRIORS Hawk and Animal. Seeing these two face painted wrestlers charge the ring to " IRON MAN " and crushing their opponents sewed wrestling into my life forever.
Times have changed and I can say that those days of when I was a kid will never be again only in memory, but they are for sure fun to look back on.
So with that, WHAT MOMENTS GOT YOU INTO WRESTLING?

great question Crimson.
The moment I was first hooked was when my grandfather was in town visiting from PA ( I was livng in MA at the time) I was no more then 5 years old and I had gone out food shopping with my mother. We came back in the house and my grandfather was watching the WWF. The Killer Bees were in a tag match and one of the Bees was being held by Wrestler A, Wrestler B tried to kick the Killer Bee but he moved and hit his own partner. It's a spot I have seen since a million times but I will always remember that first time.

My dad used to put on the AWA on Sunday mornings, and he, my two brothers, and I would all watch it. I would eventually get into the WWF too....but my first wrestling memories are from those classic AWA shows.

1983, sitting in my apartment on a Saturday afternoon channel surfing when I came across Georgia Championship Wrestling.
Spotted Pistol Pez Whatley being chastised by Junkyard Dog. JYD slapped Pez, who got furious. When he tried to hit back, JYD said, "take it to the ring", at which time Pez (a jobber) went out and pinned Buzz Sawyer. Buzz spent the rest of the show enraged, storming around the set, until Pez came out and pinned him again.
Classic stuff! Dying to find a video clip of the segment. I have been hooked ever since.

Ok this will show my age, but here goes. There are two that I remember. 1) The first was when Dick Slater turned on long time partner Dusty Rhodes back in early 70's. 2) the second was when a man everyone in LOW land knows as Bob Armstrong. He was doing a promo when a man called Pak San (who at the time was known for a strong knife hand chop, who was shown several times crushing watermelons at the time, hey I was kid), attacked Bob with the head chop several times busting him open. Then his partner at the time The Spoiler slapped the claw on him and dragged him to the ring to finish him off. Several wrestlers tried to help out Bob, but Pak San held them off. It was the first time I saw the claw and the first time that I saw a man bleed in wrestling. I lied there are three. 3) don't remember the year, but again in Georgia Championship wrestling. At the time Masked Superstar was a monster heel holdingthe National Title at the time I think. He used the Cobra clutch as a finisher and would not let go for awhile. Paul Orndorff was a face at the time and told Superstar that he could break the hold. SUperstar put it on and Orndorff ran to turnbuckle and flipped Superstar over it to break the hold. It was really cool at the time.

I saw a Million Dollar Man promo (the one where he's chillin' at the pool) in August 87 and have been hooked ever since.

I think the first moment that stands clear in my mind is the Hulk Hogan vs Paul Orndorff Saturday night's main event match in the steel cage. The controversial "whose feet touched the ground first" was great.
Anytime Saturday Night's Main Event was on it was exciting but for me that's the one I remember the most. I even I have the VHS tape I used to record it on.
My Second one was Wrestlemania III probably because took place near where I lived and because of Hogan beating Andre and of course the best match I've ever seen Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat.
The third one wasn't a huge moment at the time but it was watching the very first royal rumble on USA. The lady in the front row taunting RIck Rude with a mega phone was classic.

Randy Savage slapping the taste out of Hulk Hogan's mouth, then smacking the few remaining hairs off his head with the belt.
Take care,
Jay

Mine was watching with my Grampa at his house the match when Hogan beat the Iron Shiek for the belt. I remember watching WCW Saturday night wrestling on TBS at his house and mine and i also remember seeing WCCW, AWA and WWF events growing up. I guess that's why i like to keep my wrestling cards on DVD or vHS so inanother 30 years i can reminise as well.
