A fellow co-worker is now getting into the WWE, and his excitement brings back memories of the days when I was just starting to watch wrestling. I told him he missed out on the greatest time to grow-up and watch wrestling, and that was the early and late 80's.
I've seen the AWA, NWA, WWF, UWF and WCCW during some of the best times in my viewing of wrestling. The AWA was the promotion I loved the watch the most, it had the Road Warriors. The NWA was my next promotion of choice then the WWF with Hulk Hogan.
Watching the Road Warriors DVD I notice one thing missing from today's wrestling... the BUM wrestlers, now it just would seem to corny. But back then it was great to see the good or bad guys kill the bums.
I would love to see some more DVD's about the 80's, and the format I would like to see is a recap of each year. Yes, have several full length matches... but also have interviews and clips of other matches.
One thing is for sure, todays wrestling will never be yesterdays wrestling.

Keep your eyes open in the Wal Mart cheap DVD section. They will have some vintage stuff from time to time.
