Did anyone out there in Filsinger land grow up with Memphis wrestling, specifically in the early 80s-mid 90s? I'm working on a Memphis set with 24 stars of the era and there are a few I need help with stats on, since I don't have tape on them. I'm slowly doing the artwork for them when time permits.
Heck, if your from the Kentucky area, that would be even better (I'm in Louisville). Here are my 24 first cards.
1. Jerry Lawler 2. Bill Dundee 3. Dutch Mantel 4& 5. Keirn & Lane (The Fabulous Ones) 6. Jimmy Valiant 7. Austin Idol 8. Tommy Rich 9. Eddie Gilbert 10. Jackie Fargo 11. Jerry Jarrett 12. Tojo Yammamot 13. Jeff Jarrett (80s version) 14 &15. Rock N Roll Express 16. Jimmy Hart 17. Bobby Eaton 18. Sweet Brown Sugar 19, 20, 21. Midnight Express (Condrey, Austin, Rose) 22. Dream Machine 23. Buddy Landell 24. Lance Russell announcer card
I've also made a Tupelo Concession Stand and Memphis Cage Match.
Love to hear from anyone!
Keep the dice rolling

I saw alot of Memphis wrestling over the years and I liked what I saw. I also loved the USWA before it folded

hey...i am very interested in this also.
I will be basing my legends fed out of the old Memphis area. Cynthia has a pretty good Jerry Lawler card.
I do have a question, though...do any of you know what arenas they held shows in during the 80's? What was their territorial base? I have only seen matches, not actual shows (i started watching wrestling in late '85 with WWF and Crockett's promotion).
Also, Frank...i sent you an email for your bootlegs....

Mino, so you know, the travel was HELL for the guys during the time. Here is a run down of their schedule.
Monday-Memphis (Mid South Coloseum) Tuesday-Louisville, KY (Louisville Gardens...look this up on a map. That's a six hour trip...I'd call that terrible planning on the part of the promotion) Wednesday--Evansville, IN Thursday & Friday--Usually a spot show Saturday morning--Live TV Show in Memphis Saturday night--Nashville (Nashville Fairgrounds)
I'm pretty sure thats the schedule. Hope that helps you out. I'm going to start working on the drawings soon. I'll save them as a .pdf file.

thanks for the schedule.....
I plan on using this more as a "weekly TV Show" set up for game purposes, though.
I do know about their insane travel schedule, though. And, i read that, at least when Gulas ran the promotion, the pay was abysmally low.
Hey, just a question....do you know what the arena for Evansville, IN was? This gives me 4 shows....with a 5th show being a bit of a "Supercard", making up the imagined "monthly setup". Was there any other arenas that they appeared at on a more regular basis?
Thanks again for the info, though....would love to check out your bootlegs, to by the way.
Chris
