Quote from the articles in the link:
"The Patriots said Brady and Moss each opted out because of ankle injuries."
Quote from Mrs. Lori Beck:
"More like...injuries to their EGO!"
I think Mrs. Beck is right on this one...

The Pro Bowl is waste IMO and Brady is really hurt, every one knew that going into the Super Bowl, so why risk a worse injury in a throw away game such as the Pro Bowl. Moss on the other hand is another story. I'm no Patriot fan for sure but I'm also no Pro Bowl fan either.

The Pro Bowl sucks.
Moss & Brady have had some nagging injuries all year and why go risk your career on a meaningless game?
You can play a non-physical game of hockey, basketball, and baseball isn't physical in the 1st place.
Football is one of the only sports where the play ends by someone getting the crap kicked out of them.
The NFL needs to put an end to this stupid thing.
Just call them All-Pros but don't bother playing a game.

All kidding aside, if football players have nagging injuries, it makes sense to skip the most pointless Allstar game in sports today. However, I just find their timing very bad, especially Moss. If TO and Romo did the same thing after their loss to the Giants in the playoffs, they would have been treated the same way.

Yeah, okay, Brady may have a legitimate excuse, but (I may be wrong on this) I really don't think Moss is THAT injured.

They shoudl just get rid of the pro bowl as an actual game and be done with it.

Moss is just sitting so that there is room in the Pro Bowl for Wes Welker.

i agree with everyone that this is the worst "All-Star" of all the pro-sports.
it is a way for advertisers to make one last buck on the NFL before it goes away (well okay, the NFL never goes away) for the off season.
I have the same problem with all of the other All Stars games. If you get voted in, you should play. If you are a player and you know that you are not going to play one way or the other...then pull your name off the ballot. If you are injured, then you should not be on the ballot either.
Why not just play flag football in the Pro-Bowl...that way they don't have to worry about contact...
