For the first time in 10 years, the Seahawks have back to back defensive players of the week as Marcus Trufant (who is now 2nd in the NFL for interceptions with 7) won the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award for his perfromance against the Cardinals one week after Lofa Tatupu won the award for his performance against the Eagles.

Just read the Dec. 17 Sports Illustrated article (Inside the NFL, p. 70) on the 'Hawks recent run and Matt Hasselbeck's role in it. Check it out, Vegas.

On the way home tonight, I stopped at the store for a beer and looked for that Sports Illustrated- but the place didn't have it. I'll definitely try to find it this weekend.

I was looking over and reading some articles about the standings in the NFC this morning and to me it looks like the Seahawks are almost ensconced (that's my new word- I just learned it and I wanted to use it ) as the #3 seed. If Green Bay somehow lost 2 out of their final 3 games then the Seahawks could at least tie them and at that point the Hawks would actually have the tiebreaker because of a better conference record. But that likely won't happen based on who Green Bay's last 3 opponents are (all teams with losing records). At the same time, as I mentioned earlier, the Seahawks would really have to collapse to lose the #3 seed because they also hold the tiebreaker over Tampa Bay because they defeated them head to head in their game the opening week of this season.

Trent Lawless, Today I didn't purchase that Sports Illustrated but I read that article you mentioned on the Seahawks and then put the magazine back on the shelf at Barnes and Nobles. I agree with alot of what the article is saying. It was a good decision by Holmgren (who with last week's victory over the Cardinals passed Chuck Knox to become the Seahawks leader in wins) to deemphasize the run and Hasselbeck really is having a great year. Although Romo and Favre are ahead of him, I think it's possible Hasselbeck will make the NFC Pro Bowl team as the NFC's 3rd QB. I also thought the article had a good point that the Seahawks have benefited from a relatively easy schedule. But it's not the Seahawks' fault that the rest of the NFC West isn't very good or that some of their other non-divisional opponents such as the Chicago Bears who were good last season are struggling now. Plus 5 straight wins in the NFL is 5 straight wins in the NFL. Hopefully we'll make it 6 straight wins tomorrow with a victory over the Panthers.

I went to 2 different Christmas parties tonight (I went to the catered pary first and then to the party with the most hot chicks second ). But, as I am about to get some sleep so I can wake up and be drinking rigtht at the Seahawks bar at 10 AM tomorrow ;D, I still hope the Seahawks defeat the Panthers tomorrow. And here is a preview of today's game: seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/seahawks/2004075935_seahawksgameday16.htmlGo Seahawks!

I envy Mr. Vegas's life. I had a great time last night, but the thing is that you Trent Lawless and many others on this board have something that I only wish I had- a wife (as long as she is cool and hot - I want one of those). I want a full time girlfriend, but things just have never worked out for me yet. Having said that, it's 9:35 (we're on PST here in Las Vegas) and I'm headed out the door to the local Seahawks bar (it's a different Seahawks bar then the one I usually go to because my fellow local Hawkaholic friends wanted to check out this new Seahawks bar). Go Seahawks!

It was tongue-in-cheek, friend. I'll keep my life. I just meant the fact that you not only can go to a Seahawk bar, but you have your choice of which one to go to, that's pretty sweet.
0-0 in the second quarter right now. Of course we don't have the game on TV here...

calm down mr. v its just one game. Yeah, I know. And despite the loss, the Seahawks still have a home first round playoff game locked up. But I am honest and I hate to lose. .

Seahawks 27, Ravens 6
I am currently in Seattle and I was able to watch on local TV (didn't have to to go one of the Seahawks bars in Las Vegas) the Seahawks defeat Baltimore to lock up the #3 seed in the NFC today!
Also good to see at least some semblance of a running game today by Shaun Alexander!
