I just want to point out to my friend Swarm that the Detroit Red Wings opened their season by defeating the Anaheim Ducks 3-2. Go Wings!

I have faith that the Blues will make the playoffs and place 2nd in their division. I already have my Blues vs Leafs tickets in the ACC. Nothing like going into an arena wearing the opposing teams colours and the they win. It has happened the last 4 times I have been there cheering for the Blues.

Wait a second...the NHL still exists? Sweet, I can't wait to see Barry Melrose again.

Just wanted to point out that America's team - the Detroit Red Wings - sit atop the NHL with an 11-2-1 record. We rule.

Don't look now, but my own Blue Jackets are 7-3-2 and are sitting in 2nd place in the Central division. This *has* to be the latest into the season that they've been over .500.

Wow, I seriously didn't even realize they've gotten off to that good of a start. Ken Hitchcock is a genius. Still don't think they'll make the playoffs though.

With a shutout win over Mike Fortune's St. Louis Blues, the Wings are now 27-7-3. They rule the NHL. Not even Swarm can bemoan their success thusfar.

the Wings are now 27-7-3. They rule the NHL. Yeah, if the NHL didn't include the Blackhawks (0-3-1). Swarm will enjoy it even more when they win the Presidents trophy and then get dumped in the 1st or 2nd round.

The way this team is built (not all highly paid finesse players), I can't see them bombing out in the first 2 rounds.

This is basically the same team that made it to the conference finals last year. And right now they're on pace to break the 62 win record they set in 96. If the Wings get bounced this year before the conference finals I think everybody would be surprised. Even all the haters out there.
