Has anyone had a major star enter the fed or make a huge improvement (new card), only to get crushed and/or humiliated match after match? It happend twice in my fed, both with major villains.
First, I got Chaos' special edition card when I had ordered 2089, thinking it was a bonus card. Since he wasn't supposed to debute until 2092, I ruled that he could only wrestle part time and could hold no titles. When he finally debute full time in 2092, I put him against Hornet, a masked wrestler I created who was a step above jobber status. Chaos went for an ag move, was outmaneuvered by Hornet's -1, and was pinned in barely a minute. I laughed, figuring it was a fluke, but later I had a huge survivor series tournament and Hornet's jobber team faced the Third Force. Once again, Hornet pinned Chaos in less than a minute. They would fight for years after and Chaos would win some but lose most. However, Chaos usually won after 15-20 minutes and Hornet usually won in a minute or two.
The irony really appeared when I upgraded Hornet big time. I put him again against Chaos and Chaos (who had just lost the Alpha Stone) and Chaos won in 45 seconds!
Jinx #2: Mandrill was getting his huge villain push. I had a huge tournament with for #1 million. Mandrill appeared on Trisis show before the matches began and got attacked by the Gladiators and injured, taking him out of the tournament. Tough luck. Mandrill did recover and made it to the GWF tournament semi finals (wrestling 1 match) against Paragon (who had been injured by Anarchy the day before). In a reminder of Diesal/Bob Backlund, Pragon hit the powerbomb and won in under 10 seconds! Poor poor Mandrill!
Anyone else have wrestlers with such luck (or lack of it)? Take care,
Jay
