That's odd that the Pacers were the team listed here. They're going to have a terrible time with Detroit in the Eastern Conference Finals, and if they get to the NBA Finals, they'd have an ever harder time with Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Antonio, Dallas, or Minnesota.
I have the Lakers over the Pistons in the finals.

Winner of the Lakers-Spurs series is running away with it.

knapik, it was just a goof for my favorite team (I've been a Pacer fan since '90.)
I just wanted to see if there was anyone else on the boards that would send a vote their way.
That being said, I like their chances to make it to the finals and I think that they will cruise to the conference finals. I also like Detroit, but I think New Jersey will give them a serious obsticle in the next round. In my mind, the odds are 50-50 of them being able to get by the Nets. Looking at just first round play both the Nets and the Pacers were very efficent, while I was shocked that the Bucks won one in Detroit.
But, for what it's worth, I think Detriot (with more experience together and the development of their young talent, such as Milicic, Okur, and Prince) will get even better next year, and I can possibly see a good Detroit/Indiana rivalry for control of the East for the next few years.
In the West, my gut feeling is that the Spurs will come out (or perhaps the Kings.) L.A. is so hard to gauge, but when they are at the top of their game, it's hard to argue against them being able to win a series against anyone.

I think that Indiana could have a legitimate chance to win the title, but I think it will be a Western Conference team taking the title home for the sixth(?) year in a row. Probably the winner of the San Antonio-LA series.

I am, personally, a Spurs fan but I think everyone is over-hyping the Spurs-Lakers series...did either of these teams even win tbeir division? . If I had to pick a 'team to beat'...I'd go with the T-Wolves. KG finally has some players surrounding him. I would love to see the Spurs repeat...but don't think it's gonna happen.

This is definitely the best Wolves team so far, but I see them having a hard time getting past the Kings this round.

I do think that Minnesota looks great. Kevin Garnett played well this year, and the addition of Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell were really smart decisions. It's just that Kevin Garnett is their premier player, and he doesn't have the playoff experience that players on the Spurs and Lakers have. It would be a pleasant surprise if Minnesota managed to get to the finals and win. But, I think that the lack of experience of Kevin Garnett could hamper them. Let's just say that whoever comes out of the West, I see winning the title. Unless Indiana or Detroit really surprise me.
