In my heart, the Calgary Flames all the way, but....
Sorry Tampa Bay. You are a good regular season team, but not a playoff team, yet.
Toronto? The Canadian version of the Rangers? Waiting too implode.
Colorado? Slumping bad.
San Jose or Vancouver? Choke artists! Red Wings versus Devils in the Finals.
Anyone willing to make any predictions? Or if anyone would like to join a fantasy playoff team, I have set one up over at The Sporting News. Let me know and I'll post the info on here.

I hope to see something different this year, not the Avs, Devils, Wings or Dallas again.
San Jose vs Tampa Bay would be nice
I'm from the U.S., but seeing a Canadian team win for a change would be nice, any of them I don't care which.
seeing Nashville make a run would be fun.
the Blues deservive something for making the playoffs like 900 years in a row and never winning anything.

j, you just made me spit out my Molson's!!!
San Jose vs. Tampa Bay? Blasphemy!!!! Teams that rarely get snow, if ever, in the finals of a game that is played on ice? No way, Jose!
Nashville (who got in because the Edmonton Oilers had one more overtime loss) will get swept in the first round. All though I am happy that St. Louis has kept their consecutive playoff streak intact, they are nowhere near the powerhouse they used to be.
I do hope that the Islanders or the Canadiens do well.

lET'S GO fLYERS...CHA,CAH,CHA...LET'S GO FLYERS....CHA,CHA,CHA... Sure why not? As I said, I am one happy cat as long as the Devils are currently playing on the greenway instead of the ice rink. ;D ....Of course, they will be joining my Rangers.

What can I say...I was wrong about those Devils. Hey, the Flames beat the Canucks...didn't think they would be able to do it. Calgary was crazy Monday night. You'd think we had just won the Cup.
Philadelphia-Toronto was one of the best series last year. Should be a good series.
Bring on the Wings!!!

As a life-long Red Wings fan I have to admit that this Calgary team makes me very nervous. They have such a physical style and they play as a team. Sutter has them believing in themselves, and they have a goalie who posted the lowest goals against average since 1940. Not to mention they can backcheck like no team I have ever seen ....
Wings will have their hands full, especially now that they are down 1-0.
Wings in 7, but they'll be beat up going into the Western Conference Finals.

Hope the devils enjoy their LONG vacation that the Flyers so graciously gave them. I'm hoping my team, Philly faces Tampa in round 3. Being a Floridian who's surrounded by Tampa fans (including my boss), I look forward to rubbing it in when we send Tampa home.
I agree last year's series against Toronto was awesome. Game 1 the only night was a little rusty (open nets missed, passed In Front Og the goal ,etc), but both teams should be reved up for tomorrow's game.
Go Flyers!!!

Wow! What an awesome game (Detroit vs Calgary - Game 3) that was. How many games shown on TV where the fans actually drown out the referees whistle?
I seriously thought the Flames were done after losing yet another defenseman. Down to 5 regulars, two of which are pretty much rookies.
All the players deserve the green hard hat!!!!!

The Philly-Toronto game last night was pretty intense. I'm so glad T.O. won last night to make it a series. The one thing that boggles my mind though is the past 2 years or so, everyone in T.O. always talks about how bad our D is...how we need to improve our D...but compared to Philly, our D is better...its our forwards who were struggling. That being said, I think if Sundin is at 90% and can get his legs back, we have a real shot at beating the Flyers. I think Esche has been great, but he's still very green, and I think the more pressure we put on that hurting Philly D and Esche, the better our chances.
As for Calgary...go Flames...they really are playing a great team game...and Kiprusov is playing so well. Looks good on Cujo too...I lost so much respect for him when he bolted for Detroit...he deserves everything he gets.
TBay looks like a lock for the Conference Finals...same with San Jose. Gotta like j's San Jose v. T Bay Finals call...might actually happen? Though Toronto or Philly (please Toronto!) will give T Bay a much tougher test than they've seen so far!
Go Leafs Go!

Leafs even the series at 2-2. Sundin is starting to get his legs back and the Flyers are doing that dissapearing act they always seem to do. There's just something about a teams 'heart' that you can never put a finger on, but when one team seems to have a ton of it (Leafs) and another is struggling to find theirs (Flyers) it becomes a big key in the playoffs. Don't get me wrong...home ice is a big key as well...but I think the Leafs now have a real good shot at going into Philly and taking game 5, and then how could they NOT get up for a game 6 in ACC for the right to play Tampa Bay to go to the Stanley Cup finals! I really don't want to get too ahead of myself...but come on Leafs...things are really starting to fall into place...

I love when people down the Flyers and praise their opponents. Not that I'm insulting your opinion, Floyd. But every time this has happened, the Flyers come back strong the next game. So please continue.
I really want to see a Flyers-Lightning series. Living in Florida (though 3 hours from Tampa), I'm surrounded by Tampa fans (including my boss). If we beats them, I'm going to enjoy bragging rights. I really want to walk into my bosses office and rub it in if we win that series.

OK, how can the Flyers embarrass the Leafs 7-2, and the lone Phildelphia player I have in my hockey pool, Mr. Tony Amonte, winds up with a negative plus rating, with no shots on goal?
Anyhow, I am off to Game 6 of the Calgary-Detroit series. It is going be some crazy-ass crowd, especially if the Flames knock out the Wings!
The Flames make you nervous? You should be AFRAID!!!! Bwahahahahahahaha

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!!!!!
Calgary wasn't even supposed to make the playoffs this year and they just knocked off the mighty, all powerful Detroit Red Wings.
I could barely hear myself think. My voice is raw from cheering. People are hugging complete strangers.
Now is the chance to improve your golf game, Derian (isn't that a girl's name) Hatcher.

I knew right after I wrote my last comment that I had probably jinxed the Leafs...and what do you know...they lose 7-2. Game 5 showed how WRONG I was when talking about 'heart' as the Flyers clearly showed a ton of it and the Leafs showed none! I think a lot of it has to do with home ice, but if thats the case, then this series is over on Thursday in Philly!
All I can do now is stay up and hope that the Leafs can avenge what was a pathetic display tonight in T.O....and then at least make a game of it for Game 7...
As for Calgary...that is SOOOOO great to see them in the Conference Finals. Cujo is out once again...the mighty Red Wings have their ego checked for them by a team with half the payroll...and at least one Canadian city has a shot at making it to the Stanley Cup.

Yes...I am depressed right now... ...my Leafs are out. Pretty good game last night...GREAT 3rd period, but it was another case of too little too late...they needed to play like that for more than just 12-15 minutes in the 3rd. And what a goal by J.R. I hate Bobby Clarke, and I'm not a fan of the flyers, but they deserved that win and J.R. showed why he is a superstar! I just hope that there is hockey next year and the Leafs can hold onto Belfour and make one more run before going with the inevitable youth movement that is coming for them. As for the Conference Finals...Calgary v. San Jose is going to be a really good series of 2 young, hard working teams...and Phily v. Tampa Bay should be a good series, but I'm still not sold on TBay...and the Flyers have beaten 2 really good teams to get here... Nonetheless, should be a 2 good series...and may the best team win...
