Hey Chris how does one become a moderator? I would glady volunteer for topics like Silver Screen and such (I did go to film school and all, though I am a fanboy just like everyone else lol)

I would glady volunteer for topics like Silver Screen and such (I did go to film school and all, though I am a fanboy just like everyone else lol) While the "Commissioner" positions are set (unless someone decides to step down), there is in theory a lower level of moderator ("Referee" to use our title system) that would be restricted to a given areas. However, the reason that these powers have yet to be bestowed is because, frankly, you guys don't need to be baby-sat. By and large, this is one of the most well-behaved web communities I've ever had the privilege to be a member of. The occasional small flamewar we get around here are exeptions rather than the rule. It helps that we don't attract a lot of random people -- (just about) everyone here was brought here via CotG, more or less; a more general topic (say, video games -- or even just "wrestling") would attract a more diverse member base that would most likely bring with them a higher percentage of yahoos with nothing better to do than troll. Basically... I hope we never need to appoint "referees", so I haven't thought about the criteria we would use to select them. For the record (and in case you didn't read it in another thread), I picked Tommy, WTIC, Paul, and Jim as global mods because of their past performance on the other boards the CotG community has had. Of course, they were simply the ones who first came to mind. |

I would love to be a Moderator and clean these boards up. Thar been some trooble makars on dease boords that need to be shaped up or shipped out! ARRGH!!!!  |
