Upon hearing their new single "Far Away", 147 times in the past 72 hours, I came to the conclusion that nearly every hit this band has had since they went mainstream in 2001 has been a copycat of one of their other hits. Here's how they match up...
How You Remind Me & Feelin' Way Too Damn Good
Never Again & Animals
Someday & Savin' Me
Far Away & Photograph
Think about it. Even though I do like a few of the above tunes, every pair is basically the same song with just a few tweaks and a change of lyrics between the two.
I really dug these guys when their first album came out. The hit off that record was "Leader Of Men". It was only played on rock stations. Since they came to the mainstream, it's all been downhill from an originality standpoint, but that can be said about a lot of today's stuff.
Anyone care to comment?

Leader of Men was an awesome tune, other than that I enjoyed "Too Late" from the second album. After that they became a repetative pop machine with lame ballads that sounded like their last lame ballad. But you are 100% correct, all their songs are sounding like duplicates of the others which is what many record labels want bands to do to bring in the $$$. Sad practice, but true none the less

I've heard most of those songs. I agree that Saving me and Someday are similar, but they seem different enough to me to enjoy both. Then again, I haven't heard them as much as you so I may be missing the simmilarities.
That and I may be biased becaused I love the videoes.
Take care,
Jay
