Was Crispin Glover the one who played Michael J. Fox's dad in Back to the Future? I think he'd make a great villain, but I can't picture him with the sadistic grin and laugh the joker is known for. Two Face maybe, but not Joker. I think Ledger has the personality to make Joker. I wonder if he'll try to hide the accent though. As for Jack, I didn't like him at first, but I did later. He played Joker the way he should be played. The only one better is Mark Hamill, but that's just a voice. Take care, Jay You should see some of Glover's more recent work, including Willard. Then picture him with green hair, red lips, a white face and a purple pinstriped suit. I think he would be the scariest Joker EVER. The more I watch the original Batman, the more I become convinced that the movie is singlehandedly carried by Michael Keaton (not unlike Batman Returns). I bet Ledger will do fine, but I would prefer Glover, yes. Though I wouldn't pass on a heavily made up Mark Hamill.

Considering Hamill did the voice of The Joker in the cartoon series, I think he could work! ;D

Hamill gets no credit from most people, always ready to cast him off as the "bad actor that played Luke Skywalker". He is a very talented guy, and I thought he fit Luke very well. It was very nice to see Mark develop as an actor as Luke matured and became a Jedi.

Granted, Ford did make some good films though. BTW, and completely further away from the original post, is Ford whacked out of his mind now? He looks bewildered now, esp at that one award show a couple years ago

On the Mark Hamill subject, he is very talented, and would be a great Joker as his voice from the cartoon alone was awesome. If anyone ever has doubts about his acting ability, I tell them to find a copy of John Carpenter's Body Bags, which was a movie with three segments. Hamill was in one of them and he was great. Glover as the Joker??? Hmm, well he was a little creepy as the villain in Charlie's Angels, but I see Glover as being more of a quiet, creepy, you-suddenly-turn-around-and-there-he-is-to-kill-you villain, not laughing Joker. Just my opinion

I dont know why but I can't see him as a good Joker either. I hope I am wrong but also if I go into the movie thinking it will suck then hopfully I will surprised as it is ok...

The original Batman with Jack N. as the Joker was the best of the series. I wish they wouldn't redo that movie. What a classic.
Now, when the series plummeted into Mr. Freeze land...ugh!

I'm sure they won't redo it. There's 100 stories you can tell with Batman and Joker, and I have little doubt that Bale, Ledger and Nolan will produce something markedly different than Keaten, Nicholson and Burton did.

Two Face maybe, but not Joker. He'd prolly fit for The Riddler. As far as Nicholson goes, he did the Joker proud. You have to remember, the Joker is a psychotic. I think they should be careful with the new Joker since Nicholson did such a good job. They'd have an easier time recasting another villian. I think Nicholson just nailed the part so well.

People on here have already mentioned the obvious BatMan villians, but what are some lesser known/talked aboud bad guys that you'd like to see in a Batman movie?
Here's my list.
Clayface Mad Hatter Killer Crock I'd also like to see a recasted Two Face movie focusing strictly on Waynes relationship with Harvey Dent and then the subsequent relationship betweein Batman and Two-Face.

I wouldn't run Clayface any time soon, since Sandman is in the next Spider-Man movie. The two could seem too similar to casual moviegoers.
Frankly, I was amazed they wheeled out Ra's Al-Ghul in Begins. The very nature of that character can keep him recurring for a long time if they wanted to.

Found this on IMDb today. Joker, Two-Face, and Penguin? Seems like over-kill to me... :-\

Found this on IMDb today. Joker, Two-Face, and Penguin? Seems like over-kill to me... :-\ That was one of the problems with Batman Forever. Two-Face could have been done so much better, but they had too much focus on Jim Carrey as The Riddler. There was such a good story behind Twoface and I think Tommy Lee Jones would have nailed the character. Don't get me wrong, Jim Carrey did a great job as the riddler, but they should have had a seperate movie for 2-face. By the way, who is suppose to play the Penguin?

By the way, who is suppose to play the Penguin? The very last sentence of the blurb mentioned Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Oscar-winner for Capote, also recently the villian in MI:3). I don't have a problem with any of these reported castings, btw, just the timing of them.

I finally got to See Batman Begins, and after seeing Ra's Al Ghul and the idea of the League of Shadows, I don't feel it matters who plays Joker, he'll still be a lesser villain.
Take care,
Jay
