Has anyone seen this yet? I am really curious about how good it is. I thought it looked pretty cool from the commercials but I have heard some people that hate it and some people that love it.

I definitely want to see it. He's a great filmaker. I think it's just in style to bash him right now since he's been so successful.

That is how I feel too. The Village wasn't as good as his others but it still wasn't terrible. His movies all have a beautiful look and feel to them.

I fricking loved it, but I can easily see how some wouldn't. It's not like his other films at all, there's no "twist"; it's just a pure fantasy. Heavy emphasis, as usual, on symbolism and characterization.

That is cool with me. I like the twist ending but it certainly isn't necessary with every type of movie. I look forward to seeing it.

I could really use some feedback about this movie. I actually have the option of seeing "Lady in the Water" for free because I have free tickets to see any movie at this one theater on any day between Monday-Thursday. The three movies playing at the theater are "Lady in the Water," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," and "The Devil Wears Prada." I already saw "Pirates of the Cribbean: Dead Man's Chest" and I have no interest at all in seeing "The Devil Wears Prada." So I am thinking of using my free tickets to see "Lady in the Water." But I might also wait and use the tickets for something else that comes out later.
Do you guys think if I liked both "The Sixth Sense" and "Unbreakable" but personally really did not care that much for either "Signs" or "The Village" that I would like "Lady in the Water?" "Taladegha Nights" starts playing at the theater Friday and I am trying to decide if I should use my free tickets some time next week for that instead.

I think he's a damn fine filmmaker. I loved the message of the Village and it took me a couple times to see Signs before enjoying it.
But for free, it'd definitely check it out. Truthfully, I think it's just vogue to trash M. Night just because he's been so successful.

Dang, Trav, we're coming together on stuff these days! Let's sing Kum-Ba-Yah and roast some marshmallows, bud! ;D
Shyamalan is awesome. My wife and I went to see Lady in the Water last Friday. Great story. My only real complaint is that compared to his other movies, this one explains more and leaves less to the imagination. I figured more out in this movie than in previous ones because of that, which I actually didn't want to do. But not enough to make me not like the movie. In fact, in the pantheon of Shyamalania (!), I'm probably going to rank it second behind Sixth Sense. Signs would be third, Unbreakable fourth, and Village fifth, although I enjoyed all of them.
