Since Pirates 2 is setting worldwide box office records, I'm curious: am I the only one who didn't really like it that much??

I enjoyed Pirates 2 a lot, even more than the first Pirates movie. They gave the characters a lot more depth in this one. You get to see different sides of the characters that makes them a lot more interesting. And the action was great too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The ship battles were fantastic. To me it was just as fun as the first Pirates with a lot more character development. So far it is my favorite movie of the year.

The action scenes were good for sure, but there was just something missing for me.

What did you think of Curse of the Black Pearl, Matt?

What did you think of Curse of the Black Pearl, Matt? I liked that one much better than the sequel.

I think that the first one was better, but I still enjoyed the sequel. The "Kraken" argument will be enjoyed by most COTG fans, and I thought the ending was pretty surprising. I've seen it twice now, and there is some foreshadowing to the ending earlier in the film that I didn't pick up the first time I saw the movie.

The Kraken thing was cool and I did like the ending a lot. Maybe seeing it again would fill in the holes for me, i dont know.

I've seen it twice now, and there is some foreshadowing to the ending earlier in the film that I didn't pick up the first time I saw the movie. When i saw it with the Family (after seeing it with Chad and Tim in Jamestown) there was a lot of stuff that foreshadowed the ending. Plus i didn't know that part 3 was already filmed so i was not ready at all for the ending...i was wondering how much longer the movie could be before things started to wrap up and then everything came to a conclusion setting up #3 in great fashion! Dead Man's Chest is definitely worth seeing and then seeing again to pick up on everything that happened...not to mention getting to see the "Krakan" seen again!

I haven't seen it either but I am soo excited to see it. I mean come on with all that Lovecraftian looking goodness on the screen? What is not to like.....
One of my favorite lines from the Z-man card games applies so well to this..."Umm......is that a tentacle?"

I LIKED it, but didn't love it.
And I'm a big Depp fan, but Jack Sparrow got annoying pretty much by the time he and Will met up again.
That said, I thought Orlando Bloom did a great job making Will Turner shine.
*high fives CPB for the Z-Man card games reference*
