It's official! I'm excited about the new Superman movie!
About a month ago, someone asked me which movie I wanted to see more, Superman or the X-men, and I said it didn't matter, but now, I believe this movie will do for Superman what the movie Spider-Man did for, well, Spider-Man. By that, I mean, I think that movie technology has improved to where it needs to be for a truely awesome Superman experience.

I've saw the trailers and I think the Special effects look great! I'm really looking forward to this...plan on seeing it next Sunday afternoon (when it isn't as crowded as opening day).
Plus, after it's over, we may sneak over and see X-Men again...

I haven't read up much on this movie, so I don't really know the premise. Is it a remake of the previous SuperMan movies, a prequel or sequel, or something totally different?

If I'm not mistaken, it kinda takes up where the last series left off. Superman leaves for so many years and then returns to Metropolis. Lois has a kid now, etc.
So I'm guessing it's a "sequel".

yes, Superman Returns basically pretends that the god-awful Superman III and the even worse Superman IV never happened.
I feel like when they were doing casting for this movie, one of the requirements for the role was "Must look like Christopher Reeves," because they new guy certainly looks a lot like Reeves did.

And he sounds a lot like him too... if they were trying to make it look like this movie could be a continuation from 1 and 2, i think they are pulling it off nicely. They were even able to put Marlon Brando into the movie with the help of cgi.

But I thought I heard that they were using the old footage from 77 of Brando

I just read that Kurt Angle auditioned for the role of Lex Luthor in Superman Returns...that would have been wild!
Johnny Depp was also considered for the role of Luthor.
Director Bryan Singer wanted Jude Law to play General Zod but Law declined so the character was dropped.
Ashton Kutcher lobbied to play Superman

No offesne to anyone but the new Superman looks gay as hell. Maybe that's the look they were going for? Horrible. I will not see this move. He looks like a fruit loop and the movie itself looks lame.

Just saw Superman Returns and frankly, it rocks! It is so much better than the previews and stills. Yes, Brandon Roth looks gay in the stills but he looks a lot better in the actual movie. It is a direct sequell to Superman II but it also takes a Batman Begins approach in that the director goes in directions the comic would never (or has never) gone. Really pleased with the way this turned out.
As a side note, they ran the trailer for Spider-man 3 and it looks cool as hell also. It's got Venom, the Sandman, and Hobgoblin in it. Sweet!

Personally, I can't remember her name, but I think the girl who plays Lois just doesn't look right. I guess she's really blonde and that brown/brunette hair just doesn't look right with her.
But then again, anyone looks better than Margo Kidder! Who the hell was that casting director to pick her as Lois Lane!

Don't know how many have seen this. But the guy that played Superman in this independent fan trailer would have been a perfect Superman. Classic look too! I love this trailer! www.theforce.net/fanfilms/nonsw/grayson/
