In the early seventies my dad took me to a drive in to see a movie and it scared me for life. I can only remember one sceen but it has stuck with me for over thirty years. I was hopeing some one out of all you incredibly smart people might help me and might have seen it to. Okay...... Here goes , "I remember a guy trying to cross a stream but there was a gator (or Croc) swimming in it but once it swam down stream the man crossed the water and when he came out a large (huge) man or monster (blurry on which) came from behind a bank and knocked the man to the ground grabbed his arm and pulled it off and beat the man to death with his own arm. Then the huge man or monster crossed the water and was attacked by the gator and he killed it." There it is , vague I know but it been bothering me for 30 plus years to know what that movie was. I know if I see it today it will look very cheesy with the rubber arm and all but it mentally scared a little boy and stuck in his head since. Please someone else have seen this movie and help me out with the title. My dad swears it was "The Legend of Boggy Creek" but i know for sure that's not it but I did watch it again just to make sure, I even wasted 2 hours of my life I'll never get back watching "The Legend of Boggy Creek 2". It was painfull just to find out it wasn't it, I've read that there was a third movie called "Legend of Boggy Creek 3 or alt. title The Barbaric Beast of Boggy Creek" but I can't find either title any where to see if that is it. Help please.

The Legend of Boggy Creek (the FIRST one) is an excellent movie, even though it's about thirty years old. I have it on DVD at home. I'm sort of a Big Foot legend fan (before anyone asks or assumes, NO, I don't believe Bigfoot is real . . .I think), and this movie was scary stuff when I was a kid. The sequels sucked horribly.
As for your question, I can think of two movies that "kind of" fit the descrition. I believe the first is called THE BOG. It's about a monster born of waste that roams through the southern bayous (one of those infamous seventies "stop pollution or something hideous will happen" run of films). I remember the beast snapping a croc's jaw as it tried to attack, and later the beast ripped a man's arm off and swung it wildly at him, but it wasn't quite as detailed as you mention here. Again, I'm not sure about the name, but this movie was from the mid seventies, and it sounds similar.
The second movie is called MANITUU. It's about an evil Native American spirit thattakes a human host to be unleashed on the world. In one scene, the beast-looking human attacks a swamp land prospector, tears his arm and leg off and beats him over the head.
I'm not sure if either one is your movie, but you can check both of them out. I vaguely remember them because I'm a child of the seventies, and these movies were the source of all kinds of nightmares when I was little. Also, MANITUU was pretty good.

I can't help you with your movie but I can say the first movie to ever give me nightmares was "Pihrana"

First, if anyone wants to find a movie (or CD or videogame), try www.allmusic.com . They have links for movies and games, and I rarely don't find what I'm looking for there. I have to be honest with you; I'm not sure on the titles. I believe I saw both movies on CBS latenight television way back when they used to show movies instead of talk shows (late seventies and early eighties). I might be spelling "Manituu" wrong, but it is a real movie about a southern Native American (evil) spirit. You may have to start by searching for Native American history movies. As for THE BOG, I'd bet I just have the name wrong. I'm 34 years old, and this was a long, LONG time ago, so I could be wrong. I'll ask my brothers if they remember either one. There's the small chance that the network changed the movie title. This happened from time to time in the past. I bet it's just my brain giving out on me.

Oh yeah, Macho. Unsolved Mysteries scared the HE// out of me a few times. The worst was when a friend and I lived in a house that we later found out was haunted by the spirit of two girls who were axe murdered there thrity years earlier. Robert Stack was using his spooky voice to talk about a ship full of ghosts. As he was describing things, I'd hear crying and stomping upstairs. When I went upstairs, the noise moved downstairs. I generally don't believe in the supernatural, but since I was home alone and still can't explain this and several other incidents in the house, I'm not so sure it was just the show that gave me the willie's. Either way, Unsolved Mysteries could be pretty intense from time to time.

Kevin, I think what you really saw in your description was a match from the dying days of WCW.
The first movie to give me nightmares was "Mr. Nanny".
I can't help you with your search, but RingsYde is right in pointing you to "allmusic". As a DJ, I can find info on damn near any song, album, or artist there. I believe there is a link to "all movie guide" there too.

I'm not sure, but I think on imdb.com, they may have something like plotlines or something like that.
Search for those movies and see if there is the plotline. That may help you.
In my late teens, in the early 90s, I lived in the basement and their was a show on Fox on Friday nights that Henry Winkler actually produced called Sightings. That used to give me the creeps.
Also, if anyone listens to Coast to Coast AM, wait til they have something scary like Bigfoot, UFO, Ghost Hunters and sit outside and listen to it. You want to talk about your imagination running wild.
Keep the dice rolling.

Coast to Coast is one of my favorite shows!!! I listen to it at 2:00 on WLS out of Chicago. Awesome!! I'm surprised no one mentioned Coast to Coast AM earlier on this board. I rarely get to listen anymore but I love it when I do get the chance to listen. I even listened when Mike Segall hosted(and to be honest, I liked him). I would suggest that every regular on this board would find something they like about this show.
