the big news on Godzilla's latest(and last, for a while) movie is that he will be battling the american version seen in the 1998 Dean Devlin "Godzilla" movie. I can't wait to see the REAL Godzilla lay the monster smack down on that abomination. The americanized Goji will be purely CGI while the japanese version will be man-in-suit as a way to poke fun at Tristar's flick.

Are you kidding me?! THAT'S how they're going to end the Godzilla run?! Oh dear God, what have they done! Granted, I'd love to see Godzilla lay waste to the Deanzilla (or G.I.N.O. as he's become to be known), but not as the final Godzilla movie! I went to the japanese Godzilla website, and it looked as though they were going to have Gigan and all these others make a return. I don't know, GINO kind of grew on me as a monster movie, but not as a Godzilla movie. Being it had the EXACT same plot as Beast From 20,000 Fathoms it was lame. But the monster was the only redeeming character (well, him and Maria Patillo and her "jiggle").
I sigh in disbelief at this one. I'm not calling you a liar by any means, I just can't believe Toho stooping to that level, taking a pot-shot at GINO like that. They should end it good, with like Godzilla vs Gamera (they somewhat hinted to that in Tokyo SOS, a great sequel to the GxMG flick).
Sorry to ramble, but I watch Godzilla as much as I watch wrestling (i.e. 24/7). Please keep me posted on this one...

Actually, that was an old post. the movie Godzilla:Final Wars came out in theaters in Japan back in December. From what I understand, it's a cross between Godzilla/the Matrix/ and the X-men with a super-human mutant team who help humanity battle the giant monsters. I've download a 15-minute preview and it looks cool to me. The bad news is the return of Minya, Godzilla's son from the original series.
