Hi all,
I just finished this game after buying it last week with my B-day $, so I thought I'd give my thoughts on it. It came out last year, but I thought I'd post anyway in case someone was interested.
If you haven't played Hitman games before, here's the idea: You're a hired killer, and in each mission, you have 1 or more targets to eliminate, plus maybe an item to extract. However, you have a lot of freedom in how you accomplish your mission, from choosing a disguise to infiltrating whichever building you have to enter, to eliminating your target. It's like solving a puzzle with multiple solutions.
For example, in one mission you have to kill the husband (I don't know why, I skipped the storyline parts; for all I know, he may be a target because of his bad singing voice) and take the microfilm from his wife's necklace. You can disguise yourself as a clown, cateret, garbage collector, or guard, or you can just climb the hedge and slip through the window (watch out for the baby's squeak toy). Then you can strangle the guy, poison him, blow him up, or simply shoot him.
If you have played Hitman games before, I'll say you'll probably love this one. I haven't played Contracts yet, just Silent Assassin, but this one is way better. First, you can upgrade your weapons. Second, the guards aren't quite as annoying (in SA, I'd dress in disguise and stand perfectly still, but still get busted; in BM, they'll fall for it much easier). Also, once you complete a mission, you can go back and replay it anytime you want, allowing you to try multiple ways of finishing a mission. Finally, this game has "accidents." Your target might be a little too close to a heavy falling object, he might be the victim of an overheated stove, or she might accidently fall into a shark's tank.
If you haven't played Hitman before, but you like shooting games and/or games like Metal Gear, I highly reccommend this. If you have played Hitman games before and enjoyed the idea, you'll love this.
Hope this review is helpful to some.
Take care,
Jay
