This game looks aMAZing..!! I read about it a year ago and I've been waiting for it to come out...It's another Real Time Strategy, but It's another "step outside the box" a la Dawn of War...Where Dawn of War was the first Squad-based RTS (wherein you build/control 1 squad of 4-10 instead of 4-10 individuals), Mark of Chaos is looking to be revolutionary by doing away with Base building and resource gathering...My two least favorite aspects of RTS's anyway...
Here are some features so far:
Gameplay
Similarly to the Total War games, battles will be played in a real-time battle map mode while other game aspects --empire or campaign management-- are played in a separate strategic mode.
Multiplayer modes include co-op matches, skirmish one-on-one modes, siege, and an online campaign.
Hero-specific puzzle missions.
Tactics
Destructible terrain, which can be used for tactical advantage.
Leaders and special hero units (see below) can face off one-on-one during the battle, which depending on outcome can have advantageous or detrimental effects on troop morale.
Graphics
Races have unique and distinguishing looks, musical score, strategic manoeuvres and formations.
Individual units within regiments will have individually varied appearance.
Regiments and individual soldiers will be personalisable in an in-game analogue of the tabletop game's figurine conversion and painting hobbies.
Special hero units
Each race has its own heroes from the Warhammer lore
Heroes gain experience and can improve skills of combat (ability to inflict massive damage to entire regiments), duelling (improving combat ability in hero-vs-hero fights) and leadership (giving tactical advantages to own army, like morale boosts).
Magic weapons and armor can be found to make your heroes more potent, but can be looted if the Hero dies.
Can't wait... ;D
