So not sure how many on here collect the Star Wars: Miniatures game or even play it but man I am so stoked about the Bounty Hunters set coming out! Solid set with some nice new upgrades and sculpts for the bounty hunters. Splatter cat and I more or less collect the sets to use with the West End Games D6 Star Wars RPG (best and only system for Star Wars IMO). See it here: wizards.com/default.asp?x=starwarsSo thoughts or impressions on this set? Splatter could probably post a link to the official listing and pics of the sculpts. I love them. I was looking forward to this set and so far it is not a let down at all! The cool thing is that after this set, we get into characters from the trilogies (most notably the original trilogy) as Wizards is apparently done (for now) with Expanded Universe stuff. All I know is when Bounty Hunters comes out and I get the characters I need. I am so running the D6 module Tatooine Manhunt again, this time in all its 3D glory! YUB NUB!!!

Here is the link in question... if you're interested in their stats go here...You'll have to sign up I believe, but you get to see all their stat cards and some of them are pretty damn impressive...A 71 point Uncommon Vader..? That's nuts..!!

I was really excited for the set, but after buying eight boosters, I am really only interested in the Mandalorians and a few Fringe guys (Dengar, Nym, Komari Vosa, Weequay Leader a few others.)
The Mandos are really sweet!
Hey if youse guys want we could trade for stuff. Let me know.

I have a few of the miniatures. It is just hard to find someone to play against. but I am very excited about the Starship Combat game coming out. That will be a lot of fun.

I too am interested in the Space combat version as well. Will be neat to see all the different ships and use them for the D6 RPG. I would be up for doing some trading once I get a few boosters and build up my army of Bounty Hunters! ;D

We primarily got into the Mini's game for the (D6) Roleplaying game...They are AWESOME to use for it... We have complete sets of Rebel Storm (actually I think we're missing one guy), Revenge of the Sith and Universe....I wanted Champions, but it didn't quite work out for us...Bounty Hunters though we'll be getting...It has so many awesome figures for the RPG...Can't wait...

Ever since the game came out I wanted to buy it, but I just don't have anyone to play with. Everyone I know is selling off most of their gaming stuff (MTG, VS. system, Mage Knights, ect.) They have no time for most of it, and all I have is time. What a dilemma.
Keep the Faith

I do not have anyone to play regularly with either. But I do play solitaire games sometimes.

I do not have anyone to play regularly with either. But I do play solitaire games sometimes. I tried this and it was somewhat fun. The way I played, I controlled the heroes. When it came time for the bad guys turn, I simply figured that the Stormtroopers or Clonetroopers, not being the greatest strategists in the galaxy, would simply shoot at the nearest target. Does anyone have other ideas for solitaire play?

Well I always play the squads equally as if I were actually controlling them agaisnt a real opponent. Sure, you develop your "favorite" among the two squads, but you may be able to find some interesting combinations and groups.; That way.
The problem I have found is that I end up playing two very similar squads so there is not much variability.

These guys seem like a perfect outlet for some untapped COTG creativity. I have always been a huge fan of the Star Wars Universe and always love checking out the new games and toys that come out but never get any of them because I don't have anyone to play with. However if the game were able to play similar to how one books a GWF fed with 'favorites' in mind then maybe I might look into it more. I did grab about 20 action figures when the ROTS ones came out. When I saw the Darth Vader and how similar it looked to the old ones from the 80's I caved and started collecting them. I had to stop because I was spending a little too much money but its very rare I do that anymore so it was worth it just for the rush and uncovering another Vader in some Walmart. I think I ended up with 5 and I never do that. I did also buy 2 or 3 clone troopers too. I admit it I'm a Star Wars geek.

If you guys want any of the Fringe Un/commons let me know. Most of them are crap I won't use. Are we possibly talking Ewoks...? ;D For some reason we've purchased the equivelent of 4 cases of Rebel Storm, and we only have like, 6 Ewoks...

Awesome to see some other SWM players! I picked up only one pack of Bounty Hunters so far (budget's a little tight), but I got Zuckuss and the Nikto Gunner on Desert Skiff for my troubles. I think I might have to dust off some Fringers and put together a Jabba's Palace squad.

OK, I see alot of posts in this thread...Im a Hero Clix fan ( I use a Doctor Doom team that is undefeated thus far) and wonder how this rates...is it better than Hero Clix...Im a major Star Wars geek too...no shame

I abandoned Heroclix when Star Wars came out; though that was equally because of my love for Star Wars and some problems I had with the local Heroclix playing scene. Right now, Star Wars mini's is the only collectable game I still get.

I had an awesome heroclix team: Gambit, Taskmaster, Mandarin and Destiny...Lots of Stealth, Perplex, Outwit and rerolls...Great team... And of course for DC: Batman, Robin, Catwoman and Nightwing I believe...Your typical stealth Bat team, this of course being before widespread team critique and that junk... We stopped for local gaming store reasons as well...Star Wars came later, and as I said, the interest was predominantly RPG based...
