thamks man but 12:00 midnight i dont stay up that late. 12PM, would actually be noon. I run a 16 team league with friends from college, and it definately makes you reach more to fill out your squad. It also makes free agency that much harder, and the draft that much more important. I like the challenge, but its not for everyone. BTW, Plethador's Pansies are going to kick some butt...no wait other way around.

I am looking forward to stepping into this new FF arena. I usually play locally, but I've heard a lot of good things about this league. I hope to have a good time and make a strong impact!

can't wait to start playing would you believe last year in an nfl.com f.f.l. A guy traded me Peyton Manning for Michael Vick and I still finished 7-7. Go figure!

For anyone keeping score, I changed the name of my team from The Slaughterhouse to The Citadel of The Elite. It's more fitting for a man of my superior Fantasy Football acumen. And, of course, a chillingly accurate depiction of what perfection looks like to you mere mortals.
Keeping the smack flowing from the City of Champions!

We're up to 19 teams. i think we should expand the playoffs. This is just a much larger than normal fantasy league. 12-14 is usually the max...

I ran the table in my league last year at Yahoo Fantasy Sports. Finished 16-0-0 (or something like that). But after 5 years of fanball (3 years as a league bum, one as a contender, and one as an undefeated champion) I have hung up my cleats. I can't enjoy the games on Sunday and Monday night when I'm caught up in fanball. No matter how good the games are, if one (or more) of my guys has a bad day it ruins the whole weekend.

I remember reading that if we have only an odd number of teams, the league won't work. Can we get one more person to join? I'd rather do that than ask someone to leave. Can our fearless fantasy football commissioner verify this?

I know this is a COTG event but if we had too why not just bring in an "outsider" to fill the final spot if noone else wants in? Just a thought.

Do you guys still need more in the league?

I believe I was one of the last to join in...I will drop out if it comes to that, however....
Suggestions -
1) 20 is too many. Period. Get one more person though...and make two leagues with the ultimate champion to be decided by whomever has the most total points between the two league champs or whomever has the most points in each league's championship game.
2) Please really rethink whether or not you can play the whole season. In EVERY online league I've ever played (around 30 leagues over the past 12-14 years) you start seeing people clearly not paying enough attention to their team by about the 3rd week. Anyone who goes into this saying, "Cool, that sounds fun." and doesn't give more than 10 mins of time and effort (if that) to their team every week...PLEASE BACK OUT NOW. I'll also include people who lose early and start to fall out of contention, and hardly pay any attention to fielding a team later in the years. This is not fair to the guys whom you played 'hard' earlier in the year.
I don't mean to make this a big deal or anything...but I've played a lot of leagues and this becomes a constant irritating issue. Nothing personal...19 guys and EVERY one of us giving this it's due attention all year?
I'll shut up now.

We have 18, I just checked. We still have time to get two more. I changed settings to reflect having more teams. Right now we have a 6 team playoff and if we get 20 then we will have a 8 team playoff. ONLY ONE TEAM PER PERSON!

Alright, I'm in as the Ramparts of Centra. If everyone decides there are too many people and you want to cut the league down, though, I'll drop out. Serves me right for getting in near the end.

OK..I'm out. For all the reasons that jefft noted. 20 people is just too many. It throws off the draft. Just look at the logistics: every team has to start 2 RBs and 3 WRs..there are not 40 viable RBs and 60 viable WRs in the NFL. And people are posting that they want MORE teams in the league. C'mon..more teams do not make a better league.
Like jefft said, the most important thing is having people that actually pay attention. And I really can't see 20 people paying attention whe they're starting one decent player, a marginal player, and a bunch of third stringers on most weeks.
Thanks. And thanks to Grumpy for getting the league started.

I kinda like the idea of having 2 leagues running, crowning a champion of the Hero League and a champion of the Villian League and then using most total points to decide an undisputed champion.
That way we could have 2 10 team leagues and everyone will be happy.
(and by the way, although it is very complicated to do a fantasy league with this many people, it's a good problem to have. It just shows how big the COTG community is getting!)

Yes. It looks good for the community. But a fantasy football league is really maxed out at 14. Ten to twelve teams is best. I just don't want to be in a league where people are being forced to draft back-ups by round 2.
If you've played in even a half-way competitive league before you know what I mean.
