Anyone else tried this game? I cracked it open today and found a great game the nothing else needs to be bought to have a good time. Its foot way in the future and it is very hardcore. Check it out and give it a shot. I picked one up at Toys'R'Us for the great price of $4.97

I had a thread up over a year ago about this game. Frankly, I love it, and I don't think there's a better board game out there for the price.
Speaking of price, because the game didn't do well enough to put out expansions, but it costs so cheap, I bought two more boxes and started repainting the figures to make new teams.
This is great futuristic football with some great figures and a very sturdy board to play on (which also doubles as a pretty effdective Heroclix board).

Go out and buy one or two more boxes of the game and some Testers model paint, be creative and have a ball making new teams.
I'm trying to start a Battle Ball league, and I've used the game and one of my own created characters as a frequent GWF tie-in.

It's a futuristic football board game complete with rules, a field and two teams of futuristic players. gamefest.com/images/10633810631063381063Battle%20Ball%20Game.jpgIt takes about thirty minutes to read the rules and learn the game well enough to play it, and there are enough similarities to modern football that you can employ a little strategy in each game.

It's a good, fast-playing game with an excellent price tag.
Still, it doesn't thrill me the way Blood Bowl does. Then again, Blood Bowl is a hell of a lot more expensive than Battle Bowl. To me, though, it's worth it.

To me, though, it's worth it. I always thought just from looking at the box that this game was noyhing more than a rip-off of Blood Bowl. That's why I never bought the game.

Is it a 2 player game, or can it be played 1 player?

I actually have fun playing one player games.

I've done both. It's a lot like COTG in that dice rolls dictate a lot of the action. Not sure if I have a preference between single and multi-player.

I actually keep stats on the players who makes tackles, injuries, td, int, ball pick ups and mVp Points. It is a great time. I also named all the players and am currently running a league of who is who. It will consist of about 9 games so there is a clear winner.

I agree that this is an underrated game and a steal for the $4.97 price I saw at Toys R Us. The packaging is a bit misleading and they may have lost some of their target audience because of it. I bought this game over a year ago and it became one of our favorites...I play with my son Alex.

I don't have pictures, but I've got the Predators, the Reavers, and the Starks (a nod to Tony Stark; aka IRONMAN - some of the costumes look like popular Stark armored suits), and I'm working on the Gladiators (seemed like an obvious choice).

Hey Rings, you beat me to it!
I also have this game and I was going to repaint an Athrean team called "The Gladiators." I was even thinking of creating 2 or 3 bootleg cards and have a little cross-over into the GWF to promote Battle Bowl. I could see the Gladiator Battle Bowl guys coming in and challenging the Gladiator wrestlers to see who the best athletes from Athrea were. Could be kinda cool.
Just thought Gladiator football players could be kind of fun .... imagine a Gladiator nose tackle, linebacker, and running back.
Sigh ... if only I could draw.

Well...i gave into temptation and bought BattleBall for my 11 year old...he is trying it out right now. Hell, for $5 i am betting that he'll get my money's worth. He is a football fan so i think it should go over okay...I like the ideas of picking up another set so that he can have more players for more team...and since the price is decent i might just do that or see if he wants to put some of his own money into it...if he likes it.
