I'm not sure if the chain stores are carrying it, but I'd wager that they will be (including B&N).
Also, please drop me an email at cynthia.spectrumgames@gmail.com. =0)

Gah, the comic shops here (Victoria) said they weren't gonna carry it, but might be able to order it.
Now perhaps I'll have to pester Chapters.

Game/comic shops probably didn't order it because of: 1) The stigma of wrestling. I've heard the same thing many times about the KYR game: "It's a neat, innovative system!" almost invariably followed by "too bad it's wrestling." They tend to perceive wrestling as a niche market full of cartoon violence for the stereotypical "uneducated" marks/fans... 2) The price tag. This, combined with #1, is making many retailers leery of ordering, unless there's specific demand for it. The hurdle is to convince them you want and will buy a copy, and that it's a fun game playable with or without the theme... oh, and the management being open-minded about it would help too Tony

I'd be shocked if any store that carries RPGs didn't touch it because of the price...it's not like its a departure from the industry norm...that said, a lot of comic book stores only carry D&D and World of Darkness...
As for #1, one of the most popular games at the stores I go to, anyway, is the Raw Deal card game.

After weeks of waiting, coupled with responses ofconfusion and uncertainty on the part of various book sellers, I took the liberty to either write or e-mail several national book retailers. Thus far, I have received an official letter from the purchasing director of Borders/Borders Express/Waldenbooks that says clearly that they will NOT carry the book WWE KNOW YOUR ROLE. Aside from a few words about their ordering and stocking cycles, not much is given in terms of an explanation.
Boiled down, it sounds like the bean counters don't anticipate much interest and subsequently passed on ordering it. I sincerely hope that the retailer that does carry the book does gangbuster business so Borders gets a black eye from this.
Amazon will carry it via internet only orders throughout the "forseeable future.
Barnes and Noble has not responded.
Comic Images has not responded
The WWE responded by sending info on upcoming products. WWE KYR is listed (but not shown), and only WWE DAy of Reckoning 2, Summerslam and their back-to-school promotions are discussed at any length.

Heard back from the comic shop here....they said they'd be able to preorder it for me, and it'd be about $52 Canuckian.

My local Gamers Paradise can order it for $49.99, but it's a "Must buy" situation. I'm certain I want the game, but I'm not a big fan of mandatory obligation to purchase special orders.
Sigh . . . . I hope those of you who have it are having fun with it.

Ouch! That's pretty steep... You guys tried other Internet game dealers yet, like nobleknight.com or paizo.com? Heck, even RPG.shop has it for less (don't know about shipping charge to Canada or other foreign places, but at least you get a price break).
I'll find out if Comic Image sells (or can sell) KYR directly from their web site store.

Is the cover on RPG.net the real cover?
Because it's oog-lay

Nope, that's not the actual cover. The real cover is much better, depicting Bob Holly trapped in Kurt Angle's ankle lock.

While playing Kayfabe last nite at GenCon, the guy running it talked about it and how much it was handicapped by the WWE. Hopefully those who get it will enjoy it.

Admittedly, there were things that we probably would've done differently had it not been an official WWE RPG, but I'm very proud of how it turned out.

I'm pretty pleased with the way the game turned out. It's much easier to run from a real book too than from printouts and manuscripts I did notice little tweaks here and there that were added after the playtest. and they were all pretty good. We had a great time playing it last night, although Hammer is not a happy camper right now (long story). Allen

The 8-page preview alone look pretty cool! The only problem is I can't seem to find it; I've checked most of the local Borders and Barnes & Nobles.
