optional GWFZ Structure

LWPD suggested I post this over here, so I thought I would for people to check out.

They way I have my GWFZ set up is as follows: There are (currently) 8 coaches. Commissioner Dark Justice assigns each team 3 men made up of veterans, rookies, and current GWF superstars that need soem fine-tuning. These men are picked based mostly on similar styles/personality... but sometimes Justice likes to have some fun (like giving Vyper the three AniMen).

Each year is split in 2 semesters and after each semester wrestlers will 'graduate' to the GWF while some will fall down due to poor performance (but be elligible to come back the next semester) and most will stay in the GWFZ until they have that special breakout year... or prove they can't hack it.

Here is how my 2119 GWFZ started:

The first semester (halfway point) of 2119 is now over.

Promotions:
Morbid - 11-1 in singles competition (1-0 in tag) and held the GWFZ title on two occasions.

The Surgeon - 4-2 in singles competition, but went 8-0 as one-half of Titan Death and held the GWFZ Tag Team Titles the entire time.

These two have graduated and will be full time GWF wrestlers after they lose their respective titles. How I do this is they will defend their titles every card until they lose it OR win five times in a row. If they win 5 in a row they will forfeit the titles and get an AUTOMATIC title shot (Morbid would get an IP title shot and Titan Death a Galaxian Tag shot). This way they won't lose on purpose to start making the big money!

US Male - Won the Galaxian Tag Titles with American Guy and will no longer be a part of the GWFZ. He and Pride will most certainly meet each other again down the road as Pride barely missed being promoted himself.


Demotions:
Hegemony and Doctor Payne went 3-7 each and have been dropped (but will be elligible to come back next semester.)

Elemental Fury went 2-6 as a team (singles: Avalance 1-3, Cyclone 1-2) and will also be dropped. Since all of Johnny Rocket's team is gone, he is ALSO gone! He's going to commentate with Mot and Kram and plan his comeback for next semester.


Coaching changes:
All of Johnny Rocket's men are gone, so he is as well! A HUGE signing has been made by Dark Justice as PULSAR has signed on to take his place! Tristan and Reckless will leave Star Warrior's team and the hottest free agent in the galaxy - OVERTIME will make up an All-Titan squad! Reckless and Tristan fought backstage and didn't even make it out to their last match... the following night they tore at each other's throats at GWF Brymstone Bludgeon! Will they be able to put things behind them and focus on their development?

An interesting concept. Probably takes a bit of stat keeping but sounds good none the less.

What a great way to use the GWFZ ! Good job Knapic.

I think this entire concept is fantastic with loads of potential. The format reminds me a bit of TUF...which is a great 'out of the ordinary' direction for a CotG venture to explore. I can see a lot of storyline potential and game play options with the coach/student dynamic...maybe create 'interactions' charts that are unique for each coaches style...incorporating the effects of over training, mental discipline, motivation levels, slight stat improvements etc.

Possible Flashback???:

(Before a best 2 out of 3 falls match featuring Rush vs Dark Star Creature...)

Malice: "He's the hardest working guy in my camp and he pushes himself more than any of my other students. Day in and day out nobody can outrun Rush on the treadmill. (teachers pet Rush smiles as Morbid and Havoc are seen rolling their eyes with jealousy in the background) I've come to rely on him as a model example of what a trainee should be...without question he's my top gun!"

Later in the show...

"As the first fall ends, Malice explodes on Rush in a hissy-fit, screaming at him to get busy and throwing his water bottle against the wall of the GWFZ training center, spilling water everywhere. Malice was lucky he didn't get ejected from ringside, as his actions were bordering on unsportsmanlike. For his part, Rush takes the abuse from both his own coach and his opponent without much comment, and you can tell that despite his earlier bravado...he's been beaten mentally."

I honestly didn't explore the dynamic too much, but I agree there is a lot of potential for that sort of thing. This semester will be full of that stuff as a couple people jumped coaches and while Overtime is being coached by Pulsar officially, he has signed with 'super-agent' Johnny Rocket who has weaseled himself back into the GWFZ! Overtime has roundly ignored Pulsar and is missing practice! Rocket got Overtime a title shot in his first match and OT won it over super-champion and recent graduate Morbid and now he think he's above the rules. What will Pulsar have to say about this? Pulsar's no pushover!

Very cool stuff Knapik. I love the season aspect and promotion/demotion aspect. A bit of soccer to it there.

Once PM2 comes out I may try something similar.

This looks very cool, and is a great concept.
