I like the "champions advantage" rule (I forget where I saw it) of rolling a pin twice for it to really count.
For PW and AG moves Ive added this to my fed to balance things out, because lets face it, there are some wrestlers out there who have moves they can NEVER pull off against anyone with the way things are. Being the RPGer that I am, I roll a d6 and add the apropriate stat to the outcome, whoever is lower wins. In the result of a tie, the wrestler with the better stat wins.
EX: Wolf rolls backbreaker-2(pw) against Mayhen. Normally this would be a mistake for Wolf, but with my rules he at least stands a chance (adrenaline rush if you will). Wolf rolls a 2 his PW is a -1 so his outcome is a . Mayhem rolls a 5, his PW is a -3 leaving a 2...Wolf suceeds!
Another little rule I got form Orion (if he still posts on here) if rolling Pin saves/Interferance attempts after a sucessful Pin rather than before. It saves time, you dont throw away a Save, and it really helps get rid of some of those fluke 3 move tag matches.
And my final one for this post (Ive got a lot of stuff, been playing since '86) if the reroll. Ive recently been trying this idea out. Ill book matches before a PPV to build hype and momentum going in to the event and team up say, Max Sheild and Pegasus vs Chaos and Mandril. At the PPV Chaos will be defending the belt against Pegasus and Max has a grudge match vs Mandril. The winning tag team will get a reroll counter to use in their PPV match. Im still working out the kinks, but pretty much you can reroll anything the wrestler with the counter does. Chart attempts, Kickout attempts, Finisher rolls, ect. But you cant reroll the opponants roll for any reason.
Soem times I will give out rerolls for events too, battle royals, tourny, ect. What do you think?

I just whipped up a chart to emulate the rare and dramatic occasion where a wrestler counters his opponent's finisher. Though I love the game engine it really bugged me how most finishers hit automatically. So with the chart I made there is a chance that the opponent can escape, and in rare occasions counter their opponent's finishers. I didn't know how to load the charts directly on here so i posted it up on the cotg bootleg site. Let me know what you think. games.groups.yahoo.com/group/cotgbootlegs/files/

I hate DQs and for the EC, which I am in until the new GWF set comes out, I made different charts which make it hard to get DQed

DOUBLE COUNT-OUTS
Here's a house rule I have always had but never posted on my site, nor did I post it here until now:
When a wrestler is counted-out, his foe rolls his own PIN rating to see if there is a double-count-out. Example: Wolf takes on Bounty Hunter. Assume both have enough tokens so their adjusted PIN Ratings are both at "7". Let's say that Bounty Hunter gets counted-out the usual way by rolling within his PIN Rating. Now Wolf would roll his own PIN Rating to see if Wolf is counted-out also.

I like how you break down the various match components. Unfortunately with links to Yahoo Groups people have to sign into Yahoo first...and then go to a section with-in the group in order to find the Triple Threat. Direct links to files with-in a Yahoo Group never work. Here's the simplest link: COTG Legends Specialty Match & Chart Archive...alphabetized

My one house rule is the "Hulk-Out" rule, named after some wrestler guy...
If on a pin you roll a 12, you break the pin attempt. Depending on the opponent or the match, it could mean anything from a powerful last ditch attempt to avoid defeat to they got their foot on the ropes at the very last second. It makes matches last longer, and helps build some great drama and potential controversy.

I have a special "house rule" for the cruiserweight Out of the Ring chart.
If the cruiser successfully hits a flying move, it is automatically and ADD 1.
If he misses, it becomes an ADD 1 against his own fatigue tokens, for the cost of a "crash and burn".
Adds a new element to the flying matches!

Here are the house rules I'm currently using in my GWF 2098 fed...
All except the CHAMPION'S ADVANTAGE were borrowed from various CotG/LoW Yahoo Groups.
OPTIONAL DQ RULE 1.0 When a situation calls for a wrestler to roll DQ, first roll one die. If the roll is a 1 or 6, the ref gets soft, and allows the action (do not roll DQ). If the result is a 2-5, roll DQ as normal.
FEWER DISQUALIFICATIONS When the instructions read “Roll Disqualification”, roll both dice. If it comes up EVEN, then there is no DQ. If it comes up ODD, then roll as normal.
UPDATED RULE REGARDING (pw) / (ag) MOVES On any move that uses a wrestler's power (pw) or (ag), the rule is modified as follows. After you get the chart's number to beat, you add or subtract the opponent's power/agility as normal. Then, subtract your wrestler’s stat number from the die roll.
Example- Chaos (pw -5) lifts Generic Wrestler-A (pw +2) up for a power slam. The chart says it "works on rolls of 7 or lower, +/- opponent's power". Chaos takes the 7, and adds A's +2 (making it 9). Chaos then rolls, subtracting 5 from his die roll, which results in GW-A being removed from the ring via a spatula.
POWER KICK-OUTS Anytime a wrestler rolls a natural "12" on a PIN attempt (i.e. two 6's), they amaze the crowd with a power kick-out, and do not add 1 to their PIN for that attempt. The opponent, in shock, rallies quickly and rolls on Level-3 Offense. This happens even if a wrestler's modified PIN takes it above a 12.
ALL (ch) MOVES As an option, you may choose to use one of the choice moves (ch), or go with the original move on the card. This allows a wrestler to have three choices available on (ch) moves.
NON-WRESTLING MANAGERS / VALETS If a manager or valet does not have any wrestling moves printed on the back of their card (like Omega, Magnus Colby, etc.), then they cannot interfere via the Manager Interference Chart. Instead, they get 2 chances to use their Distractor Rating, instead of the normal 1.
CHAMPION’S ADVANTAGE Title holders reduce their PIN or Cage rating by 1-3 (roll one die: 1-2 [-1]; 3-4 [-2]; 5-6 [-3]) at the beginning of each match.
Tag Finishers If a tag team wrestler is wreslting a singles match, and has both a tag finisher and a singles finisher, then he/she must reroll as normal if the tag finisher is rolled. However, for wrestlers with ONLY a tag finisher, this becomes a singles finisher at (o).
[After reading a few ideas on this forum, I came up with the rule used above.]
