By all accounts (whether or not you believe them is a different story), Russo is a different guy now. Look at what he's done since he's been back: the stories have been fairly logical, there's been nothing blatantly offensive, Jarrett's been phased back considerably, and the #1 story in the promotion now revolves around the two best, and arguably most over, wrestlers in the company.
Yeah, he's done some stuff that's sucked in the past, but what he's showing as part of the booking team now has been pretty good. I'm totally shocked by this, mind you, but it's a pleasant kind of shock.

I just think that the booking since Russo has come back has been surprisingly good. The Jackass stuff faded away almost immediately, and it was even pointed out by the announcers that Sabin had dropped it. Then, lo and behold, Serious Sabin wins the belt. The booking has revolved around in-ring action, title belts, and guys wanting to beat the snot out of each other to prove who's better. It hasn't been perfect, but it's the best that TNA's put out in a long, long time. true. still not a big fan of the mish-mash matches. I think using established upper midcarders, protecting them, and having them fight each other for a shot at Sting does more to help protect that "serious wrestling" feeling than a random, anyone can beat anybody type battle royal. I agree with you on this one, but I don't think it hurts as long as they don't rely on it as a crutch like they used to. Plus, it got a lot of guys a payday, something that TNA likes to try to do.

I think that the booking has been better. But there are still some holes. I don't get Sabin dropping the belt so fast. If they are looking to turn Sabin heel, it's better served having him win by cheating over AJ and then smashing Sonjay and Lethal. I don't care as much about straight face v. heel. But, create the character and have him stay true to that character.
I will say that the LAX-Styles/Daniels feud was really well done. I hope that they follow the ideas that made that one fun to follow and watch. Some real solid wrestling and great intensity.

I think with the fight 4 the right and then this week the 4 corner pole match it had to be the most busy consective episodes of Impact in a while. All these silly gimmick matches are starting to remind me of the dying days of WCW

All these silly gimmick matches are starting to remind me of the dying days of WCW strong. TNA is actually in worse shape now then they were before signing Angle and Russo... between what PH said about having a battle royal without Joe and Sting's recent embaressing new makeover, the flea circus is sucking worse than ever. no hope. none.

You know, I really can't decide. In England we get TNA but a month behind and really late at night. I don't really watch wrestling as I just don't have more than an hour or so's free time a night and I like to play GWF...To cut a long story short, at any given time of day, when I have some free time I turn on the TV and scroll to see if there is any wrestling on so I think I am a good example of a "floater" that TNA and WWE are fighting over. So here's my 2p (I am Welsh after all... ;D) WWE : When it is on, I am always grabbed straight away by high production values, top name wrestlers and the matches seem to make sense. However, I have to wait for a long time for a match, and when it does come on it's over in 5 minutes ! Literally, this is Level 1 offense, roll 6, roll pin, roll 2x1 stuff !! That really annoys me, as I like wrestling and the wrestlers are not good actors, and the storylines are not played out so they seem rushed, pushing towards a PPV match every 3 weeks against a different opponent. But when they get it right, like the Batista turn, Randy & Edge, JBL's championship run, Umaga's streak, it is really very good stuff to watch. TNA: I struggled to put it into words until I saw a post from Swarm which summed it up perfectly..."flippity flop". That is all a lot of the guys are. Now, I know I haven't seen them on TV before so I don't know their backstory and they haven't been on WWE and they are fresh talent so I should give them a chance...BUT...there is something about the matches they put them in and their entrance music and their introduction (all of them seem to be a "former X-division champ and tag team champ"...I assume therefore that the X-division title changes hands on a rota basis every 3 weeks, like the US and IC straps ? grrrr it is so frustrating !! )that makes me immediately, gut reaction, say "I don't care about them". They are generic. Also, all the ex-WWE guys have exactly the same attire and gimmick as in WWE, they should try and change that. I love Sting because I could never get WWE in 1991 when I got into wrestling and they only showed WCW, and he was US heavyweight champ. I really want to like TNA, but it does seem to be lacking something (Don West... ?) I just want to go on record and say I don't like Joe, but that is just because he seems really lazy sometimes. His no-selling comes off as apathy to me, not like Angle Hogan or Sting who do it with intensity. He just looks like he couldn't be bothered to register the damage. I saw a RoH match where he was tagging with AJ, and he made a pin save by strolling in and nudging the opponent off with his toe. The poor guy had to make out like he had been hit with the "toepoke of doom", as Joe sauntered back to his corner. I just can't get over it...if this guy is the top guy in TNA, they are not going to get anywhere. They should be building the whole fed around LAX vs. AJ/CD (all their stuff I have seen is amazing in my opinion), Christian and Angle. I have droned on for ever, but I very rarely have a slow day at work to post, so I need to put 2 months worth of reading this board into the message !!
