Yeah, I'm excited, sue me. It's the first show of the Angle/Russo era, and I'm interested to see how everything goes down tonight. It doesn't look all bad from the spoilers, but it's hard telling whether or not Russo went all Russo on us in backstage skits. One way or another, it should be interesting.

I agree!
This is the first time in at least three tapings a read the spoilers and thought "sounds like a good show" rather than "Ugh, well, maybe they'll be one good match"

I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm all hopped up on cold medicine, so I'm not sure I'll actually make it all the way through the show though.

I probably won't see it until tomorrow, actually ... tonight is game night, so I'll be hanging out with the boys instead of watching the show. The DVR will be set, though!

I thought it was decidedly okay. Looks like, from the video package, that Sting's going back "old school" a little bit.
Thought the wrestling was weak, though...why's Joe in a Monster's Ball with Raven, Runt and Abyss after he stole the title from Jarrett and told Jarrett or Sting to come and get it?

Yeah, apparently, TNA has a bunch of A.D.D. people on the writing team.
You're building a match between Jarrett and Sting.
Sting hasn't been in the ring in almost a month.
Jarrett fights Samoa Joe last week, loses. Joe takes the belt "hostage."
Raven fights Joe. Runt comes out to go after Raven, but then slaps Joe 2 times.
Abyss comes out and attacks Joe. They fight.
Going up the ramp after that Joe tells Cornette that he's keeping the belt and if Jarrett wants it - come get it.
So, Joe's feuding with who now? Who's he fighting at the PPV?
And having a "Press Conference" with Bagwell and Luger.
These guys haven't been seen on TV in forever and Luger looks like he's 80 yrs. old.
I don't get it.

Luger looked terrible last night. When Jarrett threw him out of the ring, it looked like he was abusing a frail senior citizen.
As for the rest of the show, well, did anyone find this show very entertaining? Like Tommy said, the wrestling was rather weak, and that is supposed to be TNA's strong point.
Just about everytime anyone gets on the mic in TNA it is a disaster. Christian is still ok, but his effectiveness goes way down when they have Tenay and West in the same segment.
Was it just me, or did the Dudleys look absolutely terrible last night? I know it's an announcer's job to build up the wrestlers, but Don West sounded pretty stupid last night when he said the Dudleys were "back and look better than ever."
Anyway, I watched last night with anticipation that the show would be much better than usual and a return to the standard (which still wasn't that high, but at least could entertain a little) when Russo was in charge during the weekly PPVs. It wasn't.
My girl commented during the Jarrett-Eric Young segment, "So, you will watch wrestling no matter how bad it is?" I wanted to defend myself, but the best I could come up with was I wanted to hear about Kurt Angle.

It was very, no comment... They need to NOT follow the Jackass thing through...That's one storyline they are allowed to drop... Joe in with Raven et al...Um, why..? I'm guessing they have some build up to it down the road, but they let the cat out of the bag early...I don't get it... The only decent match they had was the 6 man tag, but we only got to see a third of it because of Christain and Rhino...On top of that, a third of what we actually saw was Jackass...Feh... The Dudley's looked like the Dudley's...They're never looked particularly good...Although D-Von's slacking off a bit... Eric, I have a feeling they may work into a Multiple Personality thing with him...It'd be AWESOME if they did this and made his "other self" a vicious coniving b*****d... only real good thing that came out was the announcement of Angle at Bound For Glory in a light role...Seeya Jarrett...

When has Don West sounded intellegent? ;D I still have impact saved on tivo and therefore, I haven't seen how the Dudley's looked. However, I can always count on West making an *ss out of himself.

As much as I'd like to see them drop the Jackass stuff, and believe me I'm right there with you, the more I think about it the more I think it might not be an option. They're probably contractually obligated to continue it for set period of time.

Also, the big thing about TNA is that they are booking their next PPV Main Event with......
Jarrett vs. Sting
Why do I want to buy this PPV? Both these guys are way past their prime and neither are very interesting.
Weak.

Okay, I just finished watching the show. Here's some thoughts ...
Still too much Jarrett, but that seems to be necessary until they get the belt off of him. I they get the belt off of him at BFG and then move him down the card a little, that'll be enough for me. He's still in the main event story now, though, and there's nothing to be done about that now, so meh.
Joe in Monster's Ball just confuses me. At least they could have announced that after his match with Raven and all the interference there, then it would have made a little more sense. I like Joe with the belt, though.
That video package for the Stinger was awesome. Dave Sahadi is the man.
The wrestling was so-so, certainly not what it could be on a weekly basis.
The press conference was alright. It was a way to set up matches for the next PPV and advance storylines that didn't insult our intelligence, which is nice.
All in all, it wasn't great, but it did nothing to diminsh my hope. I'll watch again next week.

Its really too bad TNA had already booked the silly main event.. a double main event of Sting vs. Christian and Joe Vs. Jarrett would make a lot more sense... Sting can have old foggy night with Jarrett next PPV...

Few other things...
This was a wierd show... I thought the booking good .. if they were building Joe-Jarrett at the PPV.
The stuff with Sting could have easily been directed at Christian
I hope this is the last of the jackass stuff... Sabin's a good wrestler, he doesn't need a goofy gimmick.
They had a lot of good video work, which definately added to the show.
The Monster's Ball announcement was totally bass ackwards..if they built guys up attacking Joe, and it was set up in, say, three weeks, it would have been fine (especially if they make it a "#1 contenders sorta thing) but to announce it first, THEN have Joe fight the other three guys..
Its good that Sabin went over, but why didn't we get to see the match.. that was pretty silly. It would have made a lot more sense to have the Christian-Rhyno thing during the Dudleys squash match.
Overall, I agree with BDS, only a so-so show, but there plenty to hope for. (sorta like were ECW was about 6 weeks ago, and its turned out well)

When Cornette confronted him, he said that either Jarrett or Sting needed to come get the belt. I'd like to see Joe keep it up to and through the PPV, and then that sets up Joe vs. Sting perfectly.

Well, Luger DOES look bad, I'll admit...but they were on TNA, aligned with Sting, during the build-up to Sting and Joe teaming up. And honestly, if you're going to have "friends of Sting" talking about what he's doing right now, it looks more genuine to have Luger and Bagwell doing it than, say, Sabin and Sonjay Dutt.
