I hope this makes all the people happy who think I have a bias against TNA, in addition to shutting certain ones up who say I never say anything good about the company or its show.
Last night's Impact was pretty good. I enjoyed the Alex Shelley-Jay Lethal and thought Sabin's promo was pretty good. By the way, I want some of the people who hate John Cena to start jumping on Sabin now. After all, he told Nash to "Man up," and said "What's up dog?" He also found time to question Nash's sexuality (which a lot of the IWC found homophobic when Cena did it) and make a dick joke. I enjoyed it, but that's just me.
Samoa Joe's video promo was excellent! I really wish he would have cut on Jarrett, but other than that it was good. Not to bring up Joe's less than stellar physique, but the camera work on promo helped a lot. They're good as long as they focus on his face during interviews and promos. Joe is clearly a hell of a lot better at talking than most everyone else in TNA.
The Raven-Jarrett match was straight, I just hate that Raven lost. I might do like Splattercat and stop watching altogether now... Nah, just playing. I do wish Raven had won, though.
The AMW-Naturals match was pretty good, too, just, as I have said about TNA for it's entire existence, they can kill a good match with the endings. I didn't like the whole, Daniels tries to help but Chase and Andy are too goody-goody to accept the help, then Daniels and Styles walk off looking disgusted. Shane Douglas needs to stay off the screen, or at least stop wearing the same shirt he wore 10 years ago.
Dudleys promo was pretty good, too, although I get tired of hearing people complain about who is shitting on ECW's memory. ECW, the Dudleys' own admission, was Paul Heyman's baby and whole world. He can do whatever he wants with ECW, because it is, was and always will be, his. Period.
Overall, it was a pretty good show.

In my (unneeded as it was in jest) defense, I did actually watch Raw for the last two weeks... Pretty much I felt the same way you did about everything...Joe is great on the mic, I've always thought so...I've always found his calm killer approach very effective... Don West got the crap kicked out of him..!! Almost... Dammit Sting, couldn't you have just been late for work this one time..? Angry Steiner did his part though...He made Don West S**t himself.. ;D ECW: Isn't it now owned by Vince, and exists by McMahon's graces..? That doesn't entirely make it Heyman's anymore... Edit: By the way Joe, don't feel that you have to announce that you're saying something good about the show...If you like it, you like it...You won't see me announcing to the world that I'm about to say something nice about the Spirit Squad....

I pointed out I was about to say something good about TNA because I have been unfairly criticized for being a TNA-hater.
The ECW comments about Heyman were meant in the intellectual or creative sense. He sold the video library and name to McMahon, but I think Heyman believed he was doing what was necessary to keep some version of his dream alive. If Paul Heyman doesn't believe he is sullying the reputation of ECW or creating some bastardized version of it, I don't think Bubba Ray Dudley, or anyone else, really has much credibility to bash him for what he does when it comes to the name.

Saying something good about the show doesn't mean you don't hate it..You know, from a purely argumentative point of view... If someone is unfarily criticizing you as a TNA hater, announcing that you're about to make a positive comment about it is merely going to make them say "Joe hates TNA except for Impact 6/1/06" or "Joe's only said ONE good thing about TNA"... Point is, if you have something nice to say, say it...Don't announce that you're about to say something nice...It takes away from the value of the compliments...And makes us talk about whether you REALLY like TNA, instead of what you liked about it.... ;D ;D

"What's up Dog??!?!?!?" I guess Sabin is having Randy Jackson/American Idol withdrawals.

I think he was being purposely sarcastic...You know, "What's up Dog?" (Wolf pac type speech)...The shot at his manhood was obviously because of Nash's new line "Size Matters"...ANYONE would have taken that shot at him... EDIT: Plus...I don't think anyone will accuse him of homophobing, since he's talking about Nash's wife...

EDIT: Plus...I don't think anyone will accuse him of homophobing, since he's talking about Nash's wife... Well, right before Sabin brought up Nash's wife he did make reference to him and Shelley having a potential date, which led to a big "Oooohhhh!!!" from the crowd, as well as Tenay and West, who referred to the insult as a "stiff shot." He was being what the Cena-hating IWC likes to consider homophobic.

Raven is starting to look really old. I noticed that when he came back that he looks about 10 years older in the face.

True, forgot about that one...Well, I won't get into my opinions on Homophobes -insecure retards- or (especially non-gay) people who accuse others of being Homophobes -completely stupid, and should mind their own business-

Joe...cudos to you for giving TNA a little credit when they put on a good show...and last nights show was a good one. Lethal/Shelly was pretty good...and the whole Nash in his corner, leading to that great promo/dig at Nash by Sabin to set up a match at the PPV. If Sabin can 'talk' like that more...he's got a bright future ahead of him. I wonder if Nash helped him?
I was very upset to see Raven in such rough shape. Clearly he is struggling with that weight problem, because he reminded me of Danny Devito as The Penguin in Batman Returns the way he moved. He can still put on a good match, and I too was bummed that he lost...JJJ needs to go away! The blonde hair is also a mistake. I'd hate to see him go out with a whimper...but maybe its time for him to hang em up. Its a shame, cause he's been one of my fav's for a long time. Go back to wearing the jeans/t-shirt again...that 'moo-moo' t-shirt thing isn't working for me.
Thought the Joe promo's were good...
I still hate JJJ...him coming out at the top of the show demanding to know who he's going to face is a pathetic excuse for face time for JJJ...he's such a tool.
Thought the 3D promo was good...and I although the 'ECW' honor stuff has been done before...these guys made their names in ECW, while James Gang made it WWE...so fighting for ECW's legend is alright...but most importatly, it gives them something to actually do and a purpose. They could do what everyone is saying RVD might do, and try and win the NWA Titles and turn them into 'hardcore tag titles' or something...
I hope your not serious...I actually thought it was pretty 'natural' sounding...as if he was just shooting the s**t, talking a little trash...I didnt' see it as him trying to be 'ghetto' or something. Football players talk like that...sportscasters say 'man up' all the time...I didn't think it was a big deal, in fact, I thought it was some of the best 'stick work' I've seen in TNA.
Very solid show for top to bottom. Take away JJJ's ridiculous rants (give him something to ACTUALLY be pissed about!) and about 40 pounds off Raven and it would have been flaw free in my eyes. I also felt they packed a lot in the show, and got some new 'storylines' going without it seeming as if they were 'rushing' or forcing too much in. Very organized show...

I wasn't being serious about the Cena-haters coming after Sabin. I've always thought it was stupid the way so many Internet fans pick apart everything Cena does or says and finds something fake or wrong with it. I just thought this was a good opportunity to bring that up. By the way, I liked Sabin's promo, too. I started watching him when he debuted in TNA, and I have never heard him cut anything close to a good promo. I think you are right about Nash helping him out.

Show wasn't bad at all. I can't stand JJJ either and not in the "I hate the heel way". He should just leave already. The matches were pretty good overall. Shame about Raven. He put on a decent match but looks horrible.

From wikipedia.com:
Currently, Levy is recovering from a gastrointestinal problem brought on by years of drug abuse. His "firing" was kayfabe cover so he could recuperate. It is not known if Raven has fully recovered from the thyroid condition yet, but he made his return to TNA at TNA Lockdown 2006.
Basically he's got a wonky thyroid and some blood sugar issues caused by the years of hard living. This has caude the weight problems. He's getting old, but that's not the only reason he looks terrible.

Honestly, I think he would look a BIT younger if he hadn't went for the light green hair color he's got right now...it just looks...odd, and doesn't help with the appearance.

Yeah, I read that somewhere...but reading it and seeing it are two totally different things, and this was the first time I've 'seen' him with that weight. Hopefully with modern medicine in his corner, he'll be able to find a solution to his health problems.

I think what is not helping him is the hair issue, he looks like he has no hair in the middle of his head. And it does make him look really really "rugged". Plus I think the years of changing hair colour has to be murder on the hair! Soon than later it is going to just start falling out before age does it for you.

I agree about the hair...he should just shave it, load up on the dark eyeshadow and go back to lurking in the shadows until he's healthy. I don't mind him wretling the odd match...but it seems like he's trying to change his gimic in order to fit his new physical state...when he should just go back to being the Raven we know and love...jeans, black t...if he's got a bit more girth, so be it. Hell, why not make it part of his character...Raven has always been a tortured individual, why not have him fighting his health, both mental and physical on TNA...with him picking victims/enemies at random? Sandman was never a model of clean living in ECW...(neither was 1/2 the roster for that matter...)
