Well, currently his look is keeping him out of WWE, so God bless him... Of course, that also means that we won't get to see him destroy Umaga, so I guess there is a bad point to that... I guess though, if he were signed, WWE would probably want him to get in better shape so he wouldn't actually start until about 4+ months after his signing...Umaga will be gone by then anyway... They don't want him...they don't need him...they have Umaga...that's the whole point... plus his knee is shredded now so at best, maybe he could help set up the WWE ring...

Actually his knee is not that bad, apparently it won't stop him from wrestling he just has to take it easy for awhile. He is a tough SOB and will plow on through.

And they DID want him Swarm...TNA was getting burned for HESITATING to keep Joe when WWE offered him a job... Umaga is crap, part of me believes that you're 100% behind him because you can't watch Joe...

Umaga is crap, part of me believes that you're 100% behind him because you can't watch Joe... why wouldn't I be able to watch Joe? I watch him all the time. He does nothing for me, while I find Umaga to be very entertaining. When he threw that guy off the steps outside of the ring on RAW...that was awesome... I'm glad Joe is not badly injured, as ya never want to wish injury on anyone... and as far as WWE wanting him...let's be serious...if they wanted him, they would have taken him... it's every TNA wrestler's dream to be in the WWE...everyone know that.

So....they made him an offer so that TNA would keep him..? Hmmm...What if Joe had accepted..? Oh wait, Umaga would never exist, despite the fact that they would subsequently bury Joe...Gatcha...

I speak to plenty of wrestlers who have no desire to go to WWE. Most of them, at best, want to spend a couple of years in developmental drawing WWE money and then go to TNA or back to indy work.

I'm don't doubt you hear this. Do you think they are being 100 percent honest? I met plenty of guys on UK's bench saying they had no desire to go to the NFL, too. Some of them say this because they are realistic and know they are not good enough, so they push it out of their mind. I'm sure there are a few others who used football strictly as a way to get an education. I don't think I have ever heard one say he had no interest in the NFL who had a legitimate shot at getting to the league, though. I'm sure most of the wrestlers who said they have no interest in WWE are aware of the fact they have no chance of getting to there. I'm not taking a shot at them, either. I'm just saying that if they are interested enough in the money that comes with a WWE developmental deal, then they are damn sure interested in the money that comes with headline job.

I get what you're saying, Joe...but there's the flipside to it.
That development deal is pretty great money (for a wrestler, at least) and with a relocation but no REAL travel schedule. That means that you get to make a living doing what you love, while still having a real life with your family because you're not gone 300 days a year.
Honestly, I doubt I ever make it out of the local indy scene, but I'd be much happier in OVW or doing TNA than I would WWE for precisely that reason. I love wrestling, but I love my wife and son more.

I've always felt that the WWE needs to function more like a tv series and do their televised shows much like a season. Then during the off season it gives the wrestlers time off to heal and spend time with their families and train. Also they could do minimal house shows to keep the product interest up.
This also gives the creative team time to put together and new "Season" and be ready when the show is ready to go LIVE again. Dunno I think since they are Sports Entertainment and as big as they are I think going this route ensures the longevity of your wrestlers both in body and in mind. An off season might be something to think about.

Most of their TV deals are tied into the fact that they are producing original programming 52 weeks a year. So I'm not sur eif they could do that, contractually. But it might not be a bad idea. Network people would say that oversaturation cause characters on TV to become very old very fast.

At least at that point they could release Raw and Smackdown as Seasonal DVD boxsets... I'd buy them...
