I thought this was an excellent show... better than the first two. They've been getting steadily better since the mediocre first episode.
Thinks I liked:
1. The funeral segment was very well done. Stuff like this really establishes who the characters are for people who are seeing TNA for the first time. It was funny and a nice bit of sports entertainment to break up the action.
2. Rhyno vs. Sabu I thought was an excellent match, mainly due to Sabu. This was my favorite match of the night. The end with Abyss and Hardy coming out played out nicely too. Good hype for the PPV.
3. Daniels vs. 3 guys was pretty entertaining. Didn't care for Dutt too much... especially when he did his old school balancing trick on the top rope while holding on to Daniels hand. That shoots suspension of disbelief, but all in all a good match.
The other two matches weren't bad by any stretch, just not very memorable when you compare them to the main event and Rhyno/Sabu.
A few observations I made:
1. Bentley should really establish himself independent from his cousin. I haven't seen that much of him yet, but using the superkick for his finisher is like when Owen Hart used the sharpshooter. It sort of puts you in mind of HBK, and HBK casts a long shadow.
2. Is it just me or has Rhino not been very good on the two Impact on Spike matches that he's been in so far? I'm no Rhino expert, but I remember him being a better wrestler in ECW. Not that he's terrible or anything, he just seems a little sluggish and doesn't sell too well.
3. What's with the TNA crowd? They seem to enjoy the matches but they don't seem to have much of a response when guys come to the ring or do interviews. It's almost as if no one is really over as a character, but the matches themselves are still over.

With only being familiar with TNA for the last three weeks, it seems to me that the crowd enjoys the in-ring action but not necessarily the characters of the wrestlers themselves. To be honest, the-in ring action is what attracted me to TNA after the first show, not the characters. If TNA is going to be successful, they need to develop characters that the fans care about. I think that the funeral skit worked because the fans like TEAM 3D. I also think that A.J. Styles can be a big time star that the fans care about. And whenever Raven is allowed to challenge Jarret for the title, he will be a character the fans will get behind. There is some potential in the TNA characters, they just need to find a balance between a lot of great action in the ring and some well done wrestler promos.

Yeah I think you're right. I noticed during the Monty Brown/Lance Hoyt verbal exchange that the crowd was completely dead. It will take something other than matches to make the crowd care about the characters though.

People were also yelling at Brown when he got on the mic. I think that Monty's character is too unidentifiable to people. What is he? He rubs his forehead on the turnbuckles, head jukes the camera man, and talks about the serengheti. I actually really got into his match though. I agree to some extent about Bentley. I do think that he could differentiate himself while still using the superkick cuz he just does it so well. I think that Rhino looked better in ECW because he was a monster there. He didn't really have to sell to anybody. I hope that he brings back his vicious looking piledriver that he used to do in ECW.

I thought iMPACT #3 was solid, the highlights for me are... the funeral skit was great, I loved when Abyss crushed the tissue box. The Rhino and Sabu match was very good, Rhino does need to pick his game up. I agree that Bentley needs to be his own man and not a HBK clone of sorts. Lance Hoyt, this guy is cool... I've not seen him wrestle yet, but I'm cheering him on over Monty Brown. The crowd factor, TNA needs to travel outside of Orlando and into other venues and get a different crowd each night. I hope in a few months they will start to do this, I know that they are a up and starting promotion, but they need to get away from the crowd thats mainly at the iMPACT Zone each airing. Other wise iMPACT was a very good show lastnight.

Exactly right Dennis. Only one crowd I know of that could go every week was the ECW crowd. The program is getting better but the crowd is part of selling your merchandise. We feed off of there energy. Character building will have to be a huge process undertaken next.

I liked Dutt, I thought he was cool.
What I thought was not cool was the #1 guy TNA is pushing, Styles botching a dive off the rope. Well actually I thought it was pretty funny.

Few points...
1) TNA tapes three times a month, two sets of TV tapings and a PPV...not like the crowd is there THAT often.
2) I'm shocked they let that botched move stay on TV since it was taped. At the least redo it and air THAT.

While I hate the fact that TNA's #1 athlete botched that move... I think I'd rather they left it in than redid it. The reason for that is that usually you can tell when they edit stuff. I mean I could tell on Impact #2 that they had edited the Jarrett/Ortiz/Nash segment pretty heavily... it doesn't look that good. The fact that they showed Styles mistake gives it more of a feeling that anything can happen. Just my 2 cents.

Maybe we will see Raven and Team 3D form a group, former ECW stars together fighting Jarrett and AMW w/Gail Kim.

I just watched the show and I have to say it has not gotten any better...
the skit was the best part of the show, and even that only had it's moments...
IF TNA continues to promote all thier PPV's with predictable brawls at the end of matches, they aren't going to make it very far...
first it happened with the X-Division guys, and in the very next match, they did it again with the Monsters Ball guys...
way too predictable...little or no substance behind it.
I said it before and I stand by it...no matter how many "spots" these guys try to hit, people will lose interest fast without good story-telling...
I also felt that the final segment should always be built around a fed's World Title this close to a PPV...
They used the right guys in the Final segment, but it really should be those two head-lining the PPV for the TNA Title.

I just watched the show and I have to say it has not gotten any better... You should state this as an opinion, not a fact... because that is after all what it is. I think that the shows are getting steadily better. You can't expect the shows to be the slice of heaven that WWE Raw is at this point. They are still in the process of establishing who they are. I'm optimistic and am definitely going to stay tuned in.

I enjoyed the show again. Skit aside (becasue we all agree that was funny), the matches where entertaining. Here are some of my thoughts: I have yet to figure out if I like Monty Brown or not. His finisher is just a modified spear, he acts like a jungle cat and talks about the seringetti all the time. I want to like him, I think, but I can't find something about him I like. Why should Mat Bently change? So his cousin is famous, so what? Owen did some of his best stuff, I think, while he was trying to be like Bret. Of course with a name like Bently he should be booked as a rich snob or something...wait wrong promotion. Still can't get over how freaking cool the Canadia Destroyer is, although after Petey almost gave it to what'shername my wife hates him. Sabu is too cool for words in my eyes. Rhino has lost a step, but I think it has more to do with the adjustments he made to wrestle WWE style for a while. Let him get back on the indie bike and he'll be good as new in no time. SHARK BOY! Anyone here if he won his lawsuit against that stupid movie? Sonjay Dutt, this is what all the hype was about?! The guy does the sprinkler for crying out loud. Still, decent skills. Who didn't see that AJ would be the third guy, show of hands? that he missed the move was sad, but it happens. Shelton has missed some big moves too, so it's not like Styles is the first one. Big Time.

According to an article on wrestleview.com, it was planned for A.J.Styles to miss that move off the top rope. The missed move was supposed to give The Fallen Angel the opportunity to escape from the ring. I don't know how true this is. Sounds more like a TNA spin. But it does kind of make sense.

I wondered about that...it looked more like Styles or Daniels were completely out of position than Styles botching it...although I did catch Styles holding his knee afterwards.

I think the gym shoes and jeans might have helped that falter also. Big difference with that on besides wrestling boots and tights, and daniels was out of position. He was grabing at his knee after the move.

Since I've been watching TNA for a while even before they went to Spike... I feel I have a bit of expertize...The spot on 3D was a gag....reminds me of old NWA spots... The push for X division is hot .... Styles missed good Daniels needs to be pushed as major heel....Raven is needed he is a star the crowd can focus on... Brown is a joke ... Next week we may get our first title change on TV....When was the last time WWE did that for the Fans? Don't worry about the PPV the chase is just as workable...Rhino lies down for Hardy in Monsters Ball ... they do need to change the women either to Divas or real wrestlers because they are neither now.

Next week we may get our first title change on TV....When was the last time WWE did that for the Fans? Well just this year: Carlito beat Shelton for the I-C Title on RAW... MNM beat Eddie and Rey for the Tag Team Titles on Smackdown... Murdoch and Cade beat The Super Chumps for the Tag Team Titles on RAW... Eugene beat Angle for his medals on RAW... Nunzio beat Paul London for the Cruiserweight Title on Velocity... And Edge and Hardy had a great Ladder Match for the Money in the Bank contract on Raw.

I agree Frank2. The women need to be something more. I think TNA aims for them to be wrestlers, valets, and eye candy but as you stated they are really next to nothing right now.
