Dave Meltzer wrote (on wrestlingobserver.com): --The WWE web site ran a story on Kurt Angle's being let go. Angle called it a mutually agreed parting of the ways because he needs to heal up, needs a break and that Kurt has concluded that unless he can get in the ring without pain medication that he shouldn't be wrestling. He noted that not only did he pull his groin, but also tore his abdominal muscle on 8/13, all before he tore his hamstring. He said he has no idea when he'll be able to return. Obviously the great unanswered question is, Angle had a $1 million per year guaranteed contract with a company that always pays wrestlers while healing up, and even if they need rehab for drug dependances, or in the case of Shawn Michaels, for many years while having what was thought to be a career ending injury without missing a big paycheck because that's the nature of a guaranteed contract. Why this story is so incomplete is that why would someone with so many major financial obligations, leave a contract paying him that much money even if he's not sure if he can wrestle again and needs help? If someone has all those injuries and is relying on pain medication, of course it is for the best he gets out of the ring. But wrestlers get hurt every day, many go to rehab and come out of it, and aren't either being fired or asking to quit, or in this case both, for any of those reasons
Should have seen his career wasn't over.

He really needs to stop. All this MMA stuff and still trying to wrestle. He's just addicted to the spotlight at this point I think.

Swerve anyone..?
Angle wanted out...Now he can wrestle once or twice a month, and can still recover and heal over time...The key is though, that he can compete...That's all Angle wants...Now if I may get this off my chest:
Awesome pay per view...The best I've seen all year...Couldn't have been better...15 out of 10....No missed spots... ;D

Hopefully his body can handle the rigors of the TNA schedule better than the WWE schedule. He's only going to have to work a couple of days a month instead of a couple of days a week since they don't tour, so he should have plenty of time to let his body actually heal. The Angle fan in me is geeked, the human in me is concerned. You've just got to trust that Kurt knows what he can do and what he can't.

There's also a small chance that Angle's actual condition was exagerrated...Obviously we don't have the whole story.... I'm shocked... This is all in the Fantasy realm anyhow, since Angle would not likely ever go to TNA... Yes, that was me, and all week I've been telling Pittbull "There is no way Angle would go to TNA"....Wow...

The announcement is a huge one, a great one...though I am concerned about his health and hope he isnt pushing himself to an early retirement or worse. Angle indeed is the best wrestler wrestling today and this can be a HUGE help to TNA...if they can get on track with the writing...Im no fan of Russo, but let's see if indeed time and "finding Jesus" helps him... I have my doubts, but willing to give it a chance.
The two hour timeslot will help as well I think, now maybe they can begin focusing on the underutilized talent and begin building them. A big depush of Jarrett will help as well...hell, just remove his face off the program altogether (though I know that isnt going to happen)
I believe it was wise to stay on thursday nights..there are no were near ready to take on WWE head to head on mondays. Give it some time and they just might be able to pull something off. The announcements both please me... I am truly wanting to see TNA succeed and not go the way of WCW.

But he's still going to end up in a wheelchair or dead before 50 if he doesn't stop now.

Observer just put up the result, for anyone looking for them...
As for Angle, I'm totally shocked! great for TNA, assuming he does a program with some not named Jarrett
Anyone have thoughts on how he's be used?
I'd like to see him manage some one for a while, so he can stay out of the ring... maybe a tag team to feud with the naturals..
If I had to guess thought, he's be feuding with Joe over the title once it gets to him...
