Stampede! #1
Year 1, Week 4
- Harley Race defeated Buddy Rose via PILEDRIVER!
- Ox Baker defeated Johnny Valentine via HEART PUNCH! But this wasn't the first HEART PUNCH! Ox Baker nailed Valentine twice with his devastating finisher. Valentine was injured four weeks after this heart-stopping punch. Greg came to the ring and helped Johnny to the back after Baker left. What will Greg do now that his tag team partner is injured?
- Frank Gotch defeated The Sandman via disqualification and became the first ever Texas Pro-Wrestling Television Champion. The heat between the two has been building for weeks. Gotch thought he was actually going to get a wrestling match out of Sandman, but after a few missed pinfalls Sandman snapped; the beer drinking brawler went for his SINGAPORE CANE and brutally attacked Gotch. Sandman even attacked the referee who disqualified him. The fans cheered both men on.
- The Valiant Brothers defeated The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff via disqaulification after Volkoff slammed Jimmy Valiant into the concrete floor. After Sheik took down Johnny with a whip into the steel steps, Sheik went over to the downed Jimmy Valiant and nailed him with a piledriver into a chair. Jimmy has been injured ten weeks.
- Giant Baba defeated Killer Kowalski via disqualification when Kowalski tried to injury Baba with his "bombs away" kneedrop, the move that once ripped an ear off an opponent. Kowalski punched the referee and still hit the "bombs away" kneedrop. Ox Baker entered the ring and walked right up to Kowalski. It looked like a brawl was about to take place, but as soon as Baba got to his feet Baker nailed him with the HEART PUNCH, injuring him for ten weeks. Kowalski and Baker then left the ring together.
- Ted DiBiase defeated Nick Bockwinkel via MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER. Buddy Rose made his way to the ring and nailed Bockwinkel with the BOMBS AWAY. Nick rolled out of the ring and his injuries are unknown. Rose ended up leaving the ring with a pocketful of money from DiBiase. Obviously, DiBiase payed Rose to enter and try to injury Bockwinkel.
- The Road Warriors rushed the ring and gave an explanation to the fans as to why their titles were not on the line at the first Stampede. Hawk explained that there simply wasn't a team in Texas for them to fight. Animal explained that Johnny Valentine and Jimmy Valiant were injured. Suddenly, Sheik and Volkoff hit the ring and attacked Hawk and Animal, but The Road Warriors fought back and the evil team of Sheik and Volkoff left the ring. The Road Warriors said they would be fighting Sheik and Volkoff next week in a non-title match, and that at next Stampede, Sheik & Volkoff would get a shot at their straps!
- Bobo Brazil defeated Buddy Rogers after a quick cross-body block and pin. The fans went wild as the fan favorite took the Texas Pro-Wrestling Heavyweight Championship away from Rogers. Bobo took the strap and held it high as the fans cheered, but Rogers came up from behind the new champion and nailed him with a chair. Rogers then rolled Brazil out of the ring and slammed his head into the steel post. Brazil's injuries are unknown, however; the biggest injury to Brazil was that Rogers stole the Texas Pro-Wrestling Heavyweight Title and ran off with it. The new champ doesn't have his strap! What will happen next week?
