NOTES: Jim Brunzell and Brian Blair each notched a win to earn a number between 12-20 for the King of the Hill and looked impressive against the tag-titlists in the process...US Patriot repeatedly tried to take the Destroyer's mask off forcing the WGP Champion to bring his title belt in the ring. Patriot ended up using it though and was disqualified...Chopper Mattock and Jim Duggan really had a weird night. Their original lumberjack match ended after Chopper attacked Duggan during introductions and Iron Sheik assisted Chopper to gain quick pinfall...The match was rescheduled and ended up being called a no-contest due to all the interference...Mil Mascaras and LWE Champion Jimmy Snuka signed a contract to fight for the title in the co-main event of King of the Hill. In a HUGE surprise Lou Albano has been named to be the special "Guest Referee" for their LWE Championship match. He has assured LWE officials that he will make sure the best man wins and he would like to offer his services to the winner. This should be a good one.

5. Binghamton, NY – Year 4 US Patriot def. Mil Mascaras Masked Superstar def. Killer Kowalski SD Jones def. LWE Champion Jimmy Snuka (non-title) Killer Bees def. LWE Tag-Team Champions Bob Orton, jr. and Buddy Rose, DQ Argentina Rocca def. Koko B. Ware No-Holds Barred: Ilio Dipaulo def. Don Leo Jonathan Lumberjack Tag-Team Match: Jim Duggan and Brutus Beefcake def. Iron Sheik and Chopper Mattock Hardcore Death Match: Bruiser Brody def. Nikolai Volkoff
NOTES: Every match was important in this fantastic card in Binghamton as "Upset City" may be the new name for this locale as Mil Mascaras and LWE Champion Jimmy Snuka each dropped a decision. The US Patriot and Mascaras nearly reached the time-limit, but when the action spilled out of the ring Patriot got rough with Mascaras. A series of three FREEDOM FLYERS gained the decision for the US Patriot. People are anxious to see why the Patriot took this shortcut as this match and his gutty performance at King of the Hill were adding momentum to his career....
Masked Superstar is officially separating from the Heenan Family. First, he took a match with Killer Kowalski and then thwarted a post-match attack on the Killer Bees by Orton, Rose and Heenan. Masked Superstar has agreed to team with the Bees to face the champions and IC Champion Nick Bockwinkel in a 6-man match in the next card from Madison Square Garden. Lou Albano is now managing the Bees and is claiming to make them champions and will be in their corner for this big 6-man match...SD Jones scored a huge win over Snuka as these two fan favorites really had a good match. Capt. Lou Albano entered the ring after this match with the Killer Bees to try and recruit Snuka into "Albano's Army". Snuka said he has thought about this and he needs some help to take care of all the out of the ring things to keep his mind straight for the matches and Albano was invited into Snuka's corner for his title match against Jones in Madison Square Garden!...
King of the Hill winner, Antonino Rocca continued his winning ways with a win over Koko B. Ware...Ilio Dipaulo was saved from a post-match attack from Don Leo Jonathan by his tag-team partner Antonino Rocca. Jonathan challenged this team to a match at Madison Square Garden for a special team in New York; Johnny Valentine and the Sheik!...Chopper Mattock was pinned by Duggan after Nikita Brezhnikov's interference backfired, but a 6-man tornado match with Duggan, Brody and Beefcake versus Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff and Chopper in Madison Square Garden...Brody and Volkoff brawled all over the arena with Brody getting the hard fought victory. Each man used his chain and Brody even used a rope pulled from under the ring!

The Sheik and Johnny Valentine, DQ King Kong Bundy def. Killer Kowalski COR 6-man Tornado Tag-Team: Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff and Chopper Mattock def. Jim Duggan, Bruiser Brody and Brutus Beefcake
NOTES: Jimmy Snuka returned to the winning track with an impressive victory over SD Jones. The Superfly is looking sharp as he is headed to his "March To Glory" matchup with Argentina Rocca. The March To Glory will obviously be done barefoot this year!...The deciding fall of the 3 falls 6-man match ended when Rose used the BOMBS AWAY on Blair and Rose tagged in to Orton. Blair and Brunzell used their masks to confuse the champs and a BEE STING later, the Bees earned a win over the champs...US Patriot was disqualified for attacking Mascaras outside the ring and announced why he had a change of heart and a change of uniform from his traditional red, white and blue to blue and green. He mentioned that he is now avenging an ancestors death at the Alamo and will fight in his honor. He plans to start with this "sneaky Mexican" Mascaras and will continue with any other coward who tries to get in his way to the top. The Patriot also asked to be called the "Avenger" in honor of the battles his ancestor fought at the Alamo...The 6-man tornado match did not settle anything and these two squads will face each other in an Ultimate Escape Cage match at the next LWE event "March To Glory".

NOTES: The Ultimate Escape match saw Brezhnikov lose to a FLYING KNEE SMASH from Brutus, Knee Drops from Brody and Duggan sandwiched around a Ware GHOSTBUSTER! Nikita yelled at Chopper Mattock after the match for not helping him in the brutal beating he took in the cage...Snuka and Rocca fought in an awesome match with Snuka winning the match with a piledriver...The tag-title match had an inconclusive finish and the teams nearly went the time-limit, will these teams meet in a rematch? ....The Crusher gained revenge on Bockwinkel by winning the Intercontinental title! The Avenger was granted a non-title match and LWE officials are allowing the new champion to choose the stips. The Crusher wants a cage match....Danny Hodge is looking sharp and continued his winning ways, but Zbyzsko claimed the match was being fought under battle royal rules (yet he tried for several pinfalls!)...The Avenger is looking sharp and is moving into title contention, many wonder if a manager would assist this goal...The Ortons notched a countout win over the Valentines, but is it enough to catapault them into title contention and a match with the Killer Bees?...Bill Apter interviewed Don Muraco and Muraco challenged the winner of the Snuka-Rocca match. Just looking thru your thread, Stan Lane vs Koko B Ware was the third match I ever saw live....with Lane (the babyface) telling Ware (then Sweet Brown Sugar managed by Jimmy Hart), "If you want to dance, get on Soul Train..." as Sugar was running away from him the entire match....

Yeah when I played the card, I wanted a unique opener and that match has a familiar slant to it...Did you see this in the Tennessee area? I am from the Northeast, but followed all wrestling in the early 80's.
BTW Trav, that picture is of Sara Evans, huh? Damn is she hot!!!

Duggan DQ Duggan def. Mattock Mattock def. Duggan Non-Title Cage Match: Avenger def. IC Champion Crusher
Notes: Rick Rude started the show with the mic and stated " I want all the fat, out-of-shape Baltimore Blubberbutts to keep the noise down as he is going to show them how a real man wrestles." Rude explained that "he signed the first four wrestlers he saw in the locker room to matches with him tonight and he only needs a bottle of water and a one minute rest period to rip through all four" as Bobby Heenan squirted a sport bottle of water into Rude's mouth and Rude won all four matches, using a Top Rope Kneedrop to beat Luke and Jones, Ware was counted out and Bundy fell to a suplex. After the match Heenan called out Bill Apter to give him and that "dirty rag" of his the first opportunity to interview a great athlete on this history making night! Apter obliged, but Rude berated him for always being ranked as a hated wrestler when people should be supporting him. Just when Rude started to threaten Apter a wrestler came charging down the aisle and cleared the ring. The wrestler was Diamond Dallas Page and he challenged Rick Rude to a match!! Rude said he would face him, but not tonight since he has "nothing left to prove". Should be an interesting match...Ted Dibiase beat Buddy Rose in a match marred with interference. NOTES: Chris Candido had an impressive debut as he used a pre-match interview to insult Cousin Luke's hillbilly heritage...The Battle of the Bodies ended in a countout, but DDP ran to ringside to make the save on a post-match attack. Rude and DDP's feud is far from finished...The Ladder Match was a fantastic match and is a possible Match of the Year Candidate. The Crusher won the match when Hennig knocked the belt to the mat after struggling with the Crusher at the top of the ladder. The referee announced the winner would be the first wrestler to grab the title from the floor. Crusher fought off Hennig to grab the title, but it was close...The Killer Bees were interviewed before the Hodge-Valentine match and Rude and Hennig challenged for the belts, but the commissioner interrupted and mentioned that they must beat the team of Buff Bagwell and DDP first, should be interesting!...The Kangaroos and Redheads are engaged in an exciting series of matches. Snuka's knee was injured from a missed knee drop and The King capitalized by slapping on the Figure-Four. Snuka passed out from the pain after a valiant struggle to free the hold, but Bockwinkel scampered out the cage. Bockwinkel is an opportunistic champion.
