YEAR IN REVIEW - '71 01.01.2072 from
- YEAR IN REVIEW - 1971 - BILL APTER: Hello fans! Welcome to the 1971 WCCW YEAR IN REVIEW! A look back at 1971 - a year of change! What a year it was too!
- What started the year as the LWF, ended the year at the WCCW as the LEGENDS WRESTLING FEDERATION joines the national alliance the LEGENDS WRESTLING ALLIANCE and changed it's name to WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!
- Some of the wrestlers on the LWF roster at the beginning of the year were wrestling for other ccompanies in other parts of the country by year's end! Former fed superstars such as the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, THE KILLER BEES, Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka and 'Ravishing' Rick Rude left the company for other federations. Even former TAG TEMA CHAMPIONS THE ROAD WARRIORS left, but at year's end we'd see them back for one night only!
- Although many wrestlers left the federation, we saw an influx of new talent thanks to the LWA draft. New superstars like The Destroyer, THE ARMSTRONGS and THE VALIANTS hanve made impressive impact in their short tenure. Meanwhile newcomers like Larry 'The Axe' Hennig and THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS, despite their tremendous potential have failed to make their presence felt.
- It was also the year that saw the rise and fall of the local competing federation the XWF. Proving that it takes more that dreams to make it in the world of professional wrestling.
We'll be right back with the '71 WCCW AWARDS!

- MATCH OF THE YEAR - 1971 - BILL APTER: Welcome back to the WCCW YEAR END AWARDS! '71 saw many excellent matches proving that when it comes to in ring comeptition, there not many who can match the excitement of WCCW Superstars.
#3 - 038 - SURVIVOR SERIES '71 11.28.2071 from Cow Palace, San Francisco - SURVIVAL RULES MATCH - The Destroyer, Iron Sheik, and Belgian Brawler vs. Virgil, Tom Pritchard, and Dennis Condrey The group known as INVASION entered the WCCW thanks to the LWA Draft. Lead by a masked man known only as The Destroyer, INVASION promised to dominate everyone in the WCCW. Three men, Virgil and newcomers Tom Pritchard and Dennis Condrey, formed a loose team to let them know that this would be no walk in the park. What happened that night was nothing short of amazing as The Destroyer, single handedly defeated each member of the opposing team! The Destroyer defeated Dennis Condrey with a missed turnbuckle charge The Destroyer defeated Virgil with a Double bodyslam with the help of the Iron Sheik The Destroyer defeated Tom Pritchard with a roll through after a spetacular deathjump Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: (After the match THE DESTROYER stood with the IRON SHEIK and BELGIAN BRAWLER in the ring. He grabbed the mic at ringside.)
THE DESTROYER: I said that it was only a matter of time until INVASION took over the WCCW! That day is coming as evidenced by our utter decimation of these three weaklings here tonight! The WCCW will soon be under foreign control! Mark My Words!
(Laughing all three men left the ring.)
#2 - 034 - DESTRUCTION 10.30.2071 from Cow Palace, San Francisco, CA - LWF HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - STEEL CAGE MATCH - King Harley Race vs. Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase for the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
It was the match that would send one wrestler packing from the WCCW for good! For months WCCW CHAMPION King Harley Race and #1 Challenger Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase were at each other's throats! Their feud started in August when Race defeated DiBiase in the final match of the CALIFORNIA CLASSIC! Their feud raged on on the MONDAY NIGHT MAYHEM program with challenges and sneak attacks. At the SURVIVOR SERIES, DiBiase's team soundly defeated Race's team and a six man tag match between Race and his partners the, then, WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS and DiBiase and THE ROAD WARRIORS broke down into a an all out brawl! It was settled on October 30, '71 in a fifteen foot high steel cage! In the end, King Harley Race defeated Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase with a via pinfall / escape after a piledriver. DiBiase would never again appear in the WCCW.
Match Rating: 5.00
Match Notes: Ted DiBiase was SO CLOSE to winning this match SO MANY times, but in the end, the King would reign supreme! This is, without a doubt the match of the year. What a way to end the year and what a way for the king to display his dominance.
#1 - 041 - LAST NIGHT '71 12.31.2071 from Portland Sports Arena, Portland, OR - SPECIAL TAG TEAM CHALLENGE MATCH - MIDNIGHT EXPRESS vs. THE ROAD WARRIORS
Reigning Champions THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS complained of a lack of challenge amongst the tag team ranks of the WCCW so they make an open challenge to ANY team in the LWA saying that if they lost they'd vacate the belts and start back at the bottom rung of the tag team ranks and work their way back up. Well, their challenge was answered by former TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE ROAD WARRIORS! In the end, Road Warrior Animal defeated Stan Lane with a pinfall after a devastating power slam.
Match Rating: 5.00
Match Notes: HOLY COW! This matchup could ONLY be considered the MATCH OF THE YEAR! If it doesn't win it's a tragedy! In the early goings of the match, the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS dominated! THE ROAD WARRIORS looked like they'd fall to the champs. ELLERING got involved but then was knocked out. The EXPRESS were moments from winning. The tide turned though midway through the match when the action spilled outside the ring. A wild brawl errupted and the referee actually Disqualified STAN LANE for slamming ANIMAL into the ringpost at ringside. COMMISSIONER PATRICK ran down to ringside and grabbed the mic and announced that he was not going to let the EXPRESS get away with keeping their titles BY DQ, so he ordered the match to continue with NO DQ/NO COUTNOUT rules! THis seemed to give the ROAD WARRIORS their second win. The WARRIORS hit the DOOMSDAY DEVICE on STAN LANE and were about to get the pine when CORNETTE ran into the ring. He received a clothestine for his trouble and was thrown out of the ring into the waiting arms of BOBBY EATON! ANIMAL picked up LANE and gave him a tremendous BODYSLAM for good measure and that was all she wrote! Heartland Wrestling ROAD WARRIORS had defeated THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS and because of that, the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS are no longer WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS. In fact, COMMISSIONER PATRICK took the tag belts with him from ringside! The crowd was electric for this match!
We'll be right back after these commercial messages with more!
-- FADE TO COMMERCIALS --
- TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR - 1971 - BILL APTER: Hello fans and welcome back to the WCCW AWARDS! The WCCW certainly has no lack of tag teams willing to thrill the fans! There is always plenty of Tag Team action on ever WCCW card and there is a whole roster full of teams eager to make their mark. However there can be only one team to get the WCCW TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR award fro 1971!
HONORABLE MENTION - THE VALIANT BROTHERS Though they are new to the WCCW, they have made an impact as the team to watch. With decisive victories over THE MONGOLS, THE BACK ALLEY PUNKS and an impressive showing against TAG CHAMPIONS THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, THE VALIANT BROTHERS have shown that they are here to wrestle! With the recent TAG TEAM TITLE shake up, many believe that it's Jimmy and Johnny's time to shine!
WCCW TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR - '71 - THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS Love them or hate them, you cannot deny that the team of Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton dominated in '71! They won the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS in May and held them straight through the end of the year. They racked up and impressive 11-1 record for the year defending their belts against any challenge they came across. In the end, this would be their undoing as it was an open challenge that lead to their only loss and the loss of their titles. Many are speculating on just how long it'll take for the EXPRESS to be back on top.
Stay tuned fans! We'll be back with more!
-- FADE TO COMMERCIALS --
- MANAGER OF THE YEAR - 1971 - BILL APTER: The WCCW has it's share of wily managers! Men and women who will do whatever it takes (and sometimes cheat) to climb to the top of the heap in the WCCW!
HONORABLE MENTION - Bobby "The Brain" Heenan Many say it was Bobby "The Brain" Heenan who lead King Harley Race to the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. It was while under Heenan's tutalage, Race was able to pick up that belt. Many also say it was Heenan who was the mastermind behind the infamous Heenan Family attack of Ted DiBiase on HOT SEAT in September. But when November came and the LWF became the WCCW and joined the LWA, Heenan was drafted elsewhere. Race later would say he was the one responsible for all his glory, and he's certainly proven that in the end of the year. Others speculate that it's only a matter of time until The King looses his crown now that Heenan is elsewhere.
WCCW MANAGER OF THE YEAR - 1971 - Jim Cornette
Jim Cornette has a big mouth. He's known for making outrageous claims about the wrestlers under his banner. In '71, he, for the most part, was able to back up each one of those claims. He lead the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS to the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP and then lead them to the most impressive record the WCCW has seen, 11-1. He may have overstepped his confidence when he issued the open challenge that lead to his team vacating the belts, but knowing Cornette, he'll be back in '72 louder and wilder than ever!
Okay fans, after the next break, we'll announce the WCCW WRESTLER OF THE YEAR!
-- FADE TO COMMERCIALS --
- WRESTLER OF THE YEAR - 1971 - BILL APTER: Well, fans, this is it. This is the honor that every wrestler in the WCCW aspires to, the WCCW WRESTLER OF THE YEAR! There are so many men who poured their blood, sweat and tears into their craft this year, but in the end, only one can stand atop the heap.
HONORABLE MENTION - Mr. Perfect
It takes a man to challenge for the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP and it takes a man to challenge for that belt twice in one year inside the confines of the STEEL CAGE! Though Mr. Perfect was unsuccessful in his quest for the belt, he was always willing to put his body on the line to try and achieve that goal. There's no doubt that this determination will continue into '72.
I would also like to briefly mention a rookie who's shown incredible promise since his debut in the WCCW. Currently ending the year with a perfect undefeated streak, The Belgian Brawler Dupae Rupa seems to be the brightest star amongst the young talent in the WCCW and perhaps the entire LWA. I'm sure everyone will be watching closely as this young man heads into the new year.
WCCW WRESTLER OF THE YEAR - King Harley Race
Since May of '71, the WCCW has been ruled by King Harley Race. After winning the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP in a steel cage against the Iron Sheik at CIVIL WAR, Race has been unbeatable as champion. He has an amazing record of 8-0. Despite the loss of his manager, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan in the draft, Race has been able to defeat opponent after opponent this year. Now surrounding himself with the KING'S COURT, there appears to be no end in sight to his reign. Race is undefeated as Champion. The King Harley Race is, simply, the King!
-- FADE TO COMMERCIAL --
- YEAR IN REVIEW WRAP UP - BILL APTER: During the past hour we've seen a look back at the WCCW in '71. We've seen the matches, the managers, the tag teams and the wrestlers who helped make the WCCW the very best in professional wrestling. But now it's time to look forward to '72! It's time for every wrestler on the roster to set their sights on appearing on this show next year! And it all starts next Monday night back here for MONDAY NIGHT MAYHEM!
Thank you for watching fans! We'll see you then!

042 - MONDAY NIGHT MAYHEM 01.07.2072 from WCCW STUDIOS - BURBANK, CA
- ANNOUNCEMENT BY COMMISSIONER PATRICK - FADE IN
(We see COMMISSION PATRICK in the middle of the ring at the LWF Studios.)
PATRICK: Welcom to MONDAY NIGHT MAYHEM!
(CROWD cheers!)
PATRICK: Well it's a whole new year and things are already explosive here in the LWF! I've got so much to get through tonight. First of all, I need to address the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP situation! As you saw at LAST NIGHT, the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS are no longer the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!
(CROWD cheers!)
PATRICK: Now, the EXPRESS and JIM CORNETTE will be guests on BILL APTER'S HOT SEAT later tonight, so I'm sure you'll be hearing from them about this, but it's up to me to decide what should be done to decide the new WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS. On January 31, the WCCW will head up to Washington for a Pay Per View Event LIVE from the Seattle Center Arena in Seattle Washington! On that night the WCCW will present FINAL DECISION! One of the highlights of that event will be a four team Tag Team tournament to decide the new WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS. The participants will be the top 4 Tag Teams according to the Championship Committee before the event! The committee will be watching the matches involving Tag Teams tonight and next week to make their decision. And, the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS will be eligible for the tournament. On January 31, we will have new WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!
(CROWD cheers.)
PATRICK: Now we need to discuss the upcoming LWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Tournament that's taking place on February at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN. Each federation in the LWA gets to send two representatives to New York for the tournament. The WCCW Championship Committee has decided that the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION "KING" HARLEY RACE will get the first slot in the tournament.
(CROWD boos.)
PATRICK: To fill the other slot we'll have a unique match at FINAL DECISION! The top 10 WCCW singles wrestlers will participate in the first ever SOLE SURVIVOR MATCH! The way this match works is the 10 men will battle in an OVER THE TOP BATTLE ROYAL until there are just two men left in the ring. At that moment the match will stop and a 15 foot high STEEL CAGE will be lowered around the ring and the two surviving men will square off in a STEEL CAGE MATCH until there is a SOLE SURVIVOR. That SOLE SURVIVOR will then go on to MADISON SQUARE GARDEN to wrestle for the LWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!
(CROWD goes nuts.)
PATRICK: Well, I've talked your ear off long enough and we have a ton of action to get through tonight, so let's get it started!
(CROWD cheers.)
The Destroyer vs. Cousin Luke The Destroyer defeated Cousin Luke with a pinfall after BOMBS AWAY Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Cousin Luke mounted NO offense in this extremely one sided affair.
THE ARMSTRONGS vs. THE VALAINT BROTHERS Johnny Valiant defeated "Bullet" Bob Armstrong with a pinfall after a vicious SPINNING NECK BREAKER Match Rating: 3.50
- NON TITLE MATCH - King Harley Race vs. Belgian Brawler King Harley Race defeated Belgian Brawler with a pinfall after a back suplex Match Rating: 1.00 Match Notes: RACE destroyed the BELGIAN BRAWLER in this lightning quick match.
- BILL APTER'S HOT SEAT - SPECIAL GUESTS: THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS w/ Jim Cornette
THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS came to the set with Jim Cornette.
APTER: Jim Cornette, these past few days must have been rough for you and your men. To lose your belts in such a manner as you did. Losing to a team that's not even in the WCCW.
CORNETTE: Apter, would you shut your trap for a minute? Let me set the record straight here, the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS won that match! The ref rang the bell and began to award us the match because the ROAD-KILL WARRIORS cheated! THey didn't play by the rules. Then what happens? COMMISSIONER PATRICK comes out and restarts the match. It's all so clear now, obviously THE ROAD WARRIORS paid off PATRICK to ensure the win! You know, love us or hate us, you can't deny the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS are the most dominant tag team in the WCCW. We were TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR. We were in the MATCH OF THE YEAR. This little set back, and that's all it is is a set back, will me nothing by February 1st. Because the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS is going to FINAL DECISION. We're going to be in the TOURNAMENT and we're going to win back the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP! And that's something you can take to the bank!
(With that CORNETTE and the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS left the set and we...)

Iron Sheik vs. S. D. Jones S. D. Jones defeated Iron Sheik with a DQ when IRON SHEIK hit S.D. with a chair outside the ring. Match Rating: 1.50 Match Notes: This was a great back and forth match that actually saw S.D. JONES come close to taking out the SHIEK several times.
Dennis Condrey vs. "Cowboy" Bob Orton "Cowboy" Bob Orton defeated Dennis Condrey with a kick to the head that lead to a pinfall. Match Rating: 0.00
BACK ALLEY PUNKS vs. MIDNIGHT EXPRESS Stan Lane defeated Brutus Beefcake with a countout after a slam outside the ring. Match Rating: 2.50
- RETURN FOR REVENGE MATCH - Missing Link and NEW AGE OUTLAWS vs. Larry "The Axe" Hennig and THE MONGOLS "Badd Ass" Billy Gunn defeated Larry "The Axe" Hennig with a DQ due to a vicious triple team by THE AXE and THE MONGOLS. Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: This match was a melee from the opening bell and it settled nothing. These men will step into the ring again for sure.
- BILL APTER'S HOT SEAT - With Special Guest - WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION King Harley Race and The Destroyer
The Hot Seat started with King Harley Race coming out to brag about his representing the WCCW in the LWA Championship tournament. Halfway through his rant, the Hot Seat's other guest, THE DESTROYER stormed the set.
DESTROYER: Blah, blah, blah blah. Could you shut up for just a half a second? This is the problem with Americans. All talk, no action. Race, I won't deny you've been a fighting champion. You've fought defended this belt in match after match and several times in the confines of a 15 foot high steel cage. But you know what you ain't done Race? You know what you ain't done? You ain't fought me! You ain't ever stepped into the ring with The Destroyer.
RACE: You're right, I 'ain't' stepped into the ring with you because you're below me. You aren't worth my time. I only deal with men who will provide me with a challenge.
DESTROYER: A challenge huh? Well, since I ain't like you, all talk, no action, I'll give you a challenge. How about this? You man up to get in the ring with me and I'll do this...
(In one swift motion DESTROYER reared back and cold cocked RACE with a huge right hand! RACE flew back across the set and nearly wound up on his ass. He caught himself on the desk and straightened up. He charged back up to DESTROYER and got right in his face.)
RACE: Well, you got my attention now boy! You want a match, you got it! But if you want it, it'll be at FINAL DECISION. And if you're losing to me that night, you're ain't going to be in the SOLE SURVIVOR match which means you give up all chances to go to the LWA Tournament.
DESTROYER: I could care less about the LWA. I didn't come to the WCCW to use it as a springboard to the LWA. I came here to dominate the WCCW and putting that belt around my waist is how I'll do that. At FINAL DECISION, your reign as King comes to an end!
RACE: Destroyer, you have no idea what you're stepping into the ring with. FINAL DECISION is going to be your destruction.
DESTROYER: We shall see, but I think one more thing needs to be added to the match.
RACE: Listen punk, I'm the champ, I decide if anything should be added to the match.
DESTROYER: You're right. You're the champ. You should call the shots. I was just thinking that it'd be awfully easy for you to 'escape' dropping that belt to me by getting yourself DQ'd or counted out.
RACE: If you're such a student of my previous matches you should know that's not my style. So just to put your mind at ease I'll agree to a NO DQ/NO COUTOUT match. What do you think of that Junior.
DESTROYER: I think that's great. Shake on it?
(RACE got right up in THE DESTROYER'S face and extended his palm. THE DESTROYER extended his and shook on it. The CROWD was going nuts. The two stood face to face as we...)

- WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - MIDNIGHT EXPRESS vs. THE MONGOLS for the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Stan Lane defeated Geeto Mongol with a side leg sweep that took Geeto out and gave the EXPRESS the pinfall victory Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: They said they were going to do it and they did! The MIDNIGHT EXPRESS has reclaimed the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP! As the two men and their manager celebrated in the ring, JIM CORNETTE grabbed the microphone.
CORNETTE: Tonight's win should put the rest of the WCCW, hell the rest of the LWA that the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS is the team to beat! Our victory here tonight should not have been a surprise to anyone! But listen up WCCW, there WILL be a surprise later tonight, but for now, you need to shower respect on Sweet Stan Lane and Beautiful Bobby Eaton....THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS! Your new WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! Oh and ROAD WARRIORS, we want a rematch! You name the time, you name the place, we'll be there! We're not going to let you continue to think you got the best of us!
(The three men continued to celebrate all the way back to the dressing room as the crowd wondered what CORNETTE'S surprise could be.)
MIDNIGHT EXPRESS won the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
- PRE-SOLE SURVIVOR FINALS - (TOM PRICHARD made his way to the ring and grabbed the mic.)
PRICHARD: Wooo! What a night! What a night! You know, who would have thought that at the start of tonight's show I would be standing here, just seconds away from advancing to New York to wrestle for the LWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT belt! All I needed was a little determination and smarts, which I showed in that battle royal earlier. However, I do know that it's not just determination and smarts that will take me to New York and the LWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. I'll need a little guidance! That's why I'm pleased to announce my new manager, the manager of champions, JIM CORNETTE!
(The CROWD booed loudly as a laughing JIM CORNETTE ran to ringside. He climbed into the ring and took the mic from PRICHARD.)
CORNETTE: Well, well, well, SURPRISE! You see as the manager of the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, I figured it was time to expand my horizons. Find a promising young singles star who's career I could mold into championship material! After watching TOM PRICHARD tonight in the battle royal, I've found my guy! Tom Prichard, welcome to CAMP CORNETTE!
(The two shook hands and hugged, laughing.)
CORNETTE: Albano, bring your reject out here so we can get this over with! We've got a plane to New York to catch!
(CORNETTE threw down the mic as the MISSING LINK'S music started and Albano sbegan leading his man to ringside.)
- SOLE SURVIVOR FINAL - Missing Link vs. Tom Pritchard Missing Link defeated Tom Pritchard with a BACK FLYING HEAD BUTT that knocked PRICHARD out cold and gave LINK the pinfall win. Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: CORNETTE was a bit upset his newly acquired talent lost but he had no time to berate PRICHARD as the MISSING LINK began chasing the two men with a chair after the match! The big news of the night though is that the MISSING LINK would now be going to New York to wrestle for the LWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!
- WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - NO DQ/NO COUNTOUT MATCH - King Harley Race vs. The Destroyer for the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP The Destroyer defeated King Harley Race with a pinfall after a beat down while the ref was knocked out. Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: At the end of the match, the ref got squashed in the corner turnbuckle and was knocked out. RACE covered DESTROYER for way longer than a three count would have taken, but the ref was prone. Suddenly the IRON SHEIK ran to ringside and attacked RACE from behind. SHEIK and DESTROYER then delivered a shocking DOUBLE NECKBREAKER on RACE and as DESTROYER covered RACE, the IRON SHIEK revived the ref who ran over and counted out the one - two - three! THE DESTROYER was now the new WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, bringing and end to the KING'S reign. After the match, RACE was out cold and DESTROYER and SHIEK made to attack him again when the rest of the KING'S COURT (Larry Hennig & THE ARMSTRONGS) came to ringside to chase them off!
The sight of the KING'S COURT helping the KING back to the locker room was the image we were left with as we...

045 - MONDAY NIGHT MAYHEM 02.28.2072 from WCCW STUDIOS - BURBANK, CA
- SHOW OPEN - FADE IN:
(We open on the packed WCCW Studios in Burbank, CA and standing in the middle of the ring is none other than S.D. Jones. He has the mic in his hand and a huge smile on his face.)
S.D. JONES: Well, well, well...Did you happen to watch the LWF SUPERCARD back on the 10th?! Did you happen to see me accept the BIG MAN CHALLENGE and destroy that overweight pig, King Kong Bundy? Whoo I tell you that means only one thing, I am the new Big Man in the world of Professional Wrestling! In fact, tonight I will continue my new reign of dominance by destroying Cowboy Bob Orton! So Orton, get out here and get yourself a taste of the K. O. Shuffle!
(Without warning ORTIN was out of the locker room and in the ring and the bell had sounded!)
S. D. Jones vs. "Cowboy" Bob Orton "Cowboy" Bob Orton defeated S. D. Jones with a via DQ due to brawling outside the ring. Match Rating: 1.00 Match Notes: S.D. Jones showed no fear in this match and tore into Orton. The action soon tumbled outside the ring and the match was ended and JONES was disqualified when he brained Orton with a steel chair! Jones has certainly returned from the LWF Supercard with a new attitude and it'll be interesting to see where it goes from here!
NEW AGE OUTLAWS vs. THE MONGOLS Geeto Mongol defeated "Badd Ass" Billy Gunn with a via submission with the Gobi Nerve Hold Match Rating: 1.50 Belgian Brawler vs. Larry "The Axe" Hennig Larry "The Axe" Hennig defeated Belgian Brawler with a via pinfall after THE AXE Match Rating: 1.00 - BILL APTER'S HOT SEAT - With Special Guests - New WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION THE DESTROYER and the MISSING LINK!
FIrst out was the MISSING LINK and his manager CAPTAIN LOU ALBANO!
APTER: Well Lou, in recent weeks, it sure seems as if the MISSING LINK has been on a tear.
ALBANO: That's right brother! You saw it, I saw it, the world saw it! The MISSING LINK was the Sole Survivor and went onto the LWF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Tournament!
APTER: I did want to ask you about that because we did see that LINK was disqualified in his opening match.
ALBANO: I admit it, LINK is a bit hard to control at times, but that's just a testament to his brute strength! There is not a man in the WCCW today that can defeat the Missing Link! He is the BEST in the WCCW today! He can step into the ring with anyone and destroy them.
(Suddenly from the back came none other than former WCCW Heavyweight Champion KING HARLEY RACE.)
RACE: Hold it a minute! Are you kidding me?! The Link is the best in the WCCW? I'm the KING of the WCCW and I can defeat this pathetic excuse for an athlete any time and any place.
ALBANO: Is that right? Well how about right at this very moment in this very ring?
RACE: It'll be my pleasure!
APTER: THere you have it fans, looks like THE DESTROYER will be put on hold till next time as we are heading to the ring!
Missing Link vs. King Harley Race Missing Link defeated King Harley Race with a via pinfall after a FLYING HEADBUTT Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: RACE was never able to catch his footing in this match. Some said he was too cocky and quickly became overwhelmed with the LINK'S power. Others are saying that they believe that the KING'S reign as the most dominant WCCW Superstar is nearing it's end! We will keep an eye on these events as we press forward!

046 - MONDAY NIGHT MAYHEM 03.07.2072 from WCCW STUDIOS - BURBANK, CA
- BILL APTER'S HOT SEAT - With guests: THE WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION The Destroyer!
(The show started began with THE DESTROYER standing in the middle of the ring with BILL APTER. The crowd, which is usually insanely enthusiastic for a live show, was booing loudly as THE DESTROYER posed with the ring.)
APTER: Well, I'm here with the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION The Destroyer who--
(THE DESTROYER rips the mic out of APTER'S hands.)
DESTROYER: Shut up Apter. No one wants to hear from you. These people want to hear from the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. Me. The Destroyer.
(CROWD boos!)
DESTROYER: A few short months ago, I stood in front of you and told you the INVASION was beginning. Soon me, and my men, would be taking over the WCCW. Well, as you can see, the INVASION is here! I destroyed Race and since then your 'champion' has been a shell of his former self. The last show he couldn't even beat that insane idiot, the Missing Link! And rumor has it, he's gone. No one's heard from him. In fact, i've heard rumors that he's so disgraced, he's left the WCCW! The King is DEAD! Long live the KING! Me! The new KING of the WCCW!
(Suddenly jungle music hits and out from the back comes CAPTAIN LOU ALBANO and the MISSING LINK. The crowd goes nuts! They enter the ring APTER gives ALBANO a mic.)
ALBANO: Brother, I thin you may have a loose grasp on history! If you remember correctly the last man in the ring with Harley Race was this man right here! The MIssing Link is the man who sent the old King packing!! And I just happened to have come from Commissioner Patrick's office earlier and I've just been told that this man here is the number one contender to that belt!
DESTROYER (laughs): Heh. Is that supposed to frighten me? Am I supposed to be shaking in my boots because I'm going to have to step into the ring with this man! Fat man, you're barking up the wrong tree! I'm a fighting champion and I look forward to stepping into the ring with this freak, and destroying him, just like I did Race!
(The CROWD boos as DESTROYER leaves the ring!)
Dennis Condrey vs. Iron Sheik Dennis Condrey defeated Iron Sheik with a via DQ after the Iron Shiek knocked out the ref. Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: The match continued for several minutes after the ref was put out of commission and the IRON SHEIK was easily dominating DENNIS CONDREY, but when the ref came to, he DQ'd the IRON SHIEK.
BACK ALLEY PUNKS vs. THE ARMSTRONGS "Bullet" Bob Armstrong defeated Virgil with a via pinfall after a knee lift Match Rating: 0.00 Match Notes: THE ARMSTRONGS made short work of the PUNKS and send them to the showers within minutes of the match beginning. After the match, we tried to interview THE ARMSTRONGS about the whereabouts of the Harley Race, but they immediately left the arena without comment!
Tom Prichard vs. Cousin Luke Cousin Luke defeated Tom Prichard with a via DQ after PRITCHARD wouldn't stop brawling with LUKE aoutisde the ring. Match Rating: 4.00 - NON-TITLE MATCH - THE VALIANT BROTHERS vs. MIDNIGHT EXPRESS Johnny Valiant defeated Stan Lane with a via DQ due to brawling outside of the ring Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: THE VALIANTS completely dominated this match! They destroyed the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS! The crowd was wild for this match! The match spilled outside the ring several times and then the EXPRESS ignored the ref's warnings (some speculate on purpose) and got DQ'd. After the match CAPTAIN LOU said he was going immediately to COMMISSIONER PATRICK to demand a title match!

047 - MONDAY NIGHT MAYHEM 03.14.2072 from WCCW STUDIOS - BURBANK, CA
- FADE IN - (We FADE IN on the INVASION locker room. THE DESTROYER sits in a business suit with his WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP over his shoulder. THE MONGOLS and THE IRON SHEIK are suited up for action and the BELGIAN BRAWLER stand behind them.)
THE DESTROYER: The INVASION must continue tonight! I have done my part and now you all must do yours. BEPO, GEETO, you must win tonight. You must advance in the rankings in order get within reach of the TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS. While the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS and VALIANTS are busy fighting each other, you two must keep securing victories, so when the time comes that they've worn each other our you can step in and collect the spoils of war.
(THE MONGOLS grunt in agreement.)
DESTROYER: SHIEK, you, will have no trouble tonight and I'm sure you'll esily dispatch of that fool you're wrestling. Who is it again?
IRON SHEIK: Dat pig CONDREY! I shall brek heem in two and spit on hees carcas!
DESTROYER: Good. THen the plans are all set for tonight.
BELGIAN BRAWLER: And, THE BELGIAN BRAWLER, shall deliver to these American slime the best interview they have seen!
DESTROYER: Interview? What are you talking about?
BELGIAN BRAWLER: I am speaking of tonight when I, THE BELGIAN BRAWLER, goes out there on BILL APTER'S hot seat and deliver an interview which will be unsurpassed in the history of the WCCW!
(DESTROYER is instantly on his feet and in the BRAWLER'S face.)
DESTROYER: Who the hell said you were going out on APTER'S show?
BELGIAN BRAWLER: Why I did! I signed up this afternoon!
DESTROYER: You didn't clear it with me!
BELGIAN BRAWLER: Clear it with you? I am the BELGIAN BRAWLER! I had the best record of last year even receiving a special mention at the end of the year awards! I need permission to speak of this on television.
DESTROYER: Yes. Yes you do. I have our invasion of the WCCW carefully planned out and I do not need any rogue elements messing it up!
BELGIAN BRAWLER: I am sorry this upsets you DESTROYER. THE BELGIAN BRAWLER meant no offense.
DESTROYER: From now on all interviews must be cleared with me, is that clear?
(The members of INVASION nod.)
DESTROYER: Good. Now you'll go out there, but let's be clear on what exactly you're going to say...
(THE DESTROYER begins whispering to THE BELGIAN BRAWLER as we cut to the opening theme.)
Dennis Condrey vs. Iron Sheik Dennis Condrey defeated Iron Sheik with a FACE FIRST LEG SWEEP into a pinfall Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: DENNIS CONDREY shocked those who thought this bought was going to be a opening match squash by dominating former HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION THE IRON SHEIK. Of course it took CONDREY three FACE FIRST LEG SWEEPS to get the pinfall, but the SHIEK mounted very little offense. A great match to kick off the evening.
- IN THE RINGS - NEW AGE OUTLAWS - (We're ready for our next match. A loud guitar riff hits.)
ROAD DOGG: OHHHH YOU DIDN'T KNOW? YOUR ASS BETTA CALLLL SOMEBODY!!!!
(CROWD cheers as the music of the NEW AGE OUTLAWS hits and out come the ROAD DOGG JESSE JAMES and BAD ASS BILLY GUNN. They hit the ring and ROAD DOGG signals for the music to be cut.)
ROAD DOGG: Okay, okay, we get it. You're disappointed in us! When we hit the WCCW we promised you a new dominating tag team and frankly, we haven't delivered. Right BILLY?
BILLY GUNN: Uh yes. We've done nothing but suck since we set foot in the WCCW ring JESSE.
ROAD DOGG: Too true, too true. But that all changes tonight when we go toe to toe, one on one, mano a mano....
BILLY GUNN: Uh, JESSE, there's two of us and two of them. That's not one on one.
ROAD DOGG: Oh right, right, tonight we go toes to toes, twos on two, manos a manos...
BILLY GUNN: Hands on hands?
ROAD DOGG: our hands spanking their asses all over this ring!
(CROWD laughs.)
ROAD DOGG: Tonight we send the BACK ALLEY PUNKS back to their alley...
BILLY GUNN: And take that lovely lady Trinity home with us! HUBBA HUBBA!
(The BACK ALLEY PUNKS' music hits and they storm the ring. The opening bell sounds and we are underway!)
BACK ALLEY PUNKS vs. NEW AGE OUTLAWS "Road Dogg" Jesse James defeated Brutus Beefcake with a DQ when BEEFCAKE slammed ROAD DOGG into the guardrails in the opening moments of this match. Match Rating: 0.50 Match Notes: These are two teams with a lot to prove here in the WCCW and they both went into this match full force. They got a little too carried away as the action went immediately out of the ring and soon a DQ followed. Security had to break these two teams apart and rematch is surely in the works.
- IN THE RINGS - S.D. JONES - (S.D. JONES came to the ring to a chorus of boos!)
S.D. JONES: Thank you, thank you! I'm here once again, WCCW'S big man, out to show the power and tonight I'm going to finish what I started back in February and that's to take out the so called tough guy, "Cowboy" Bob Orton! So Bobby boy, get out here and let me kiss your lilly white ass!
(ORTON storms out of the locker room and we begin our match!)
"Cowboy" Bob Orton vs. S. D. Jones "Cowboy" Bob Orton defeated S. D. Jones with a SUPERPLEX into a pinfall Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: ORTON was able to score the pinfall in this second match with JONES. JONES, for his part, put up and amazing defense and was even winning early on. In the end, ORTON got the win. One wonders if this will sit well with JONES and his new attitude.
- ALBANO'S LOCKER ROOM - (We cut to the locker room of CAPTAIN LOU ALBANO'S men. THE VALIANT BROTHERS and COUSIN LUKE stand in a huddle with ALBANO in the middle.)
COUSIN LUKE: Where's Link?
ALBANO: He's not here. We didn't need the distraction! We need to focus! Tonight's the night we put the final win over the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS to get our title shot!
COUSIN LUKE: And I get my chance to make that no good PRICHARD don I?
ALBANO: Yes. But we need to have a plan and the 'Capper has just such a plan! Now get that camera out of here and I'll tell you.
(THE VALIANT BROTHERS turn and shove the camera man out of the locker room and the door shuts! With that rather rude send off, we head to the ring for the next match.)
THE ARMSTRONGS vs. THE MONGOLS Geeto Mongol defeated Brad Armstrong with a DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE into a pinfall Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: THE MONGOLS were SO impressive during this match. They kept the tag hot and were able to wear down THE ARMSTRONGS who most would have favored to win this match. This definitely puts THE MONGOLS further up in the rankings for sure!
- BILL APTER'S HOT SEAT - (BILL APTER introduces the BELGIAN BRAWLER who comes out rather smugly.)
BILL APTER: Welcome to the hot seat Mr. Brawler. Now you are one of the the brightest young stars here in the WCCW. Ending last year with a perfect record. Since then, you have tasted a loss but still it's rather impressive.
BELGIAN BRAWLER: That is right, Mr. Apter. The Belgian Brawler is the brightest shining star here in the WCCW. Even you mentioned so in your end of the year show, Mr. Apter. I ended the year with a perfect record. But it seems there is someone else in the WCCW who has that name, yes?
APTER: What name is that?
BELGIAN BRAWLER: Perfect.
APTER: Yes, Mr. Perfect.
BELGIAN BRAWLER: But Mr. Perfect not so Mr. Perfect is he? He lost did he not Mr. Apter.
APTER: Uh, that is correct. He did lose and was injured to end last year.
BELGIAN BRAWLER (laughs): Excuse my mirth Mr. Apter. But I just find it amusing how someone who loses can be called perfect? In fact, I'm going to take that name for myself. From now on you shall call me Mr. Perfect Belgian Brawler.
APTER: Uh, well, I don't know if that will...
BELGIAN BRAWLER: No, it is my new name. My record is better than his, he can no longer claim to be perfect, for it is me...
(Suddenly, in a shock to everyone, MR. PERFECT appeared on the set behind the BELGIAN BRAWLER. The CROWD is going nuts!)
APTER: Well here he is ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Perfect!
BELGIAN BRAWLER: No, no, no. This is not Mr. Perfect. I am Mr. Perfect. This is merely Curt Hennig. For now I, THE BELGIAN BRAWLER, am Mr. Perfect.
APTER: Well, uh, Mr. Perfect what...
BELGIAN BRAWLER: DO NOT CALL HIM MR. PERFECT! He is NOT perfect! I am!
APTER: Well, can we get your thoughts on this.
PERFECT: Punk, I don't even know who you are, but I do know that I was putting people away in the PERFECT PLEX years before you were even a little waffle over in Belgium. You used to watch me on TV when you were a wee tyke and now you think you can be tough and take me out. You want to be Mr.Perfect? Fine. I'll let you hang onto that name.
BELGIAN BRAWLER (laughs): You see! You see America? Even the man says himself that I can have the name Mr. Perfect. HE does not need it.
PERFECT: Yeah. You can have the name. For one week my friend. You see, my doctor hasn't cleared me to return yet. But in 7 days, I'll have that clearance and then you and I my friend are going to have a match. A match for the title of Mr. Perfect!
BELGIAN BRAWLER: I'm not afraid of stepping into the ring with you, a loser. I will gladly accept that challenge.
PERFECT: Except that if it's for the title of Mr. Perfect, we should probably make iit a NO DQ NO COUNTOUT match so there's no 'less than perfect' wins.
BELGIAN BRAWLER: Fine with me!
PERFECT: And finally, to make sure that only the very best wins, I say we make it a two out of three falls match!
(CROWD goes nuts. BELGIAN BRAWLER looks around, the back at MR. PERFECT.)
BELGIAN BRAWLER: I agree to these terms.
(CROWD goes nuts.)
BELGIAN BRAWLER: But please do not feel saddened when I have beaten you in the first two falls.
PERFECT (laughs): Son, to be me in the first two falls you would need to be Perfect and the only person who's perfect around here is me, MR. PERFECT!
(The crowd cheers as MR. PERFECT walks off the set leaving a frustrated BELGIAN BRAWLER ranting to APTER. Looks like we've got a heck of a match coming up for the title of MR. PERFECT! Now we head up to the ring for our MAIN EVENT!)
Tom Prichard and MIDNIGHT EXPRESS vs. Cousin Luke and THE VALIANT BROTHERS Jimmy Valiant defeated Tom Prichard with a KNOGGIN KNOCKER with JIM CORNETTE into a pinfall Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: The crowd was certainly fired up about this main event! It appears that ALBANO'S strategy was to keep one man separated from the rest of CORNETTE'S team and wear him down to get the win. PRICHARD never even got close to tagging out! ALBANO'S team picks up the win and it would seem that THE VALIANT BROTHERS are now in line for a title shot!

048 - IDES OF MARCH 03.25.2072 from J.M. Perry Institute, Yakima, Washington
King Harley Race vs. Iron Sheik King Harley Race defeated Iron Sheik with a DQ when IRON SHEIK slams HARLEY RACE into the guardrails at ringside Match Rating: 0.00 Match Notes: This was a great back and forth battle until the action spilled out to ringside and the ref lost all control! The match ended with IRON SHEIK slamming KING HARLEY RACE into the guardrails and then repeatedly grinding his face into them. LARRY 'THE AXE' HENNIG made the save and soon RACE was on his feet and the two of them began giving the IRON SHEIK a taste of his own medicine. HENNIG held the SHEIK for repeated blows from a steel chair! By the time the security personnel separated the wrestlers, SHIKE needed to be carried from the ring on a stretcher. Initial reports are he'll be out for 4 cards. UNdoubtedly, this is not the last meeting between these two.
THE ARMSTRONGS vs. THE MONGOLS "Bullet" Bob Armstrong defeated Bepo Mongol with a small package into a pinfall Match Rating: 0.50 Match Notes: This was a very brief match that saw THE MONGOLS dominating until BEOP threw 'BULLET' BOB ARMSTRONG into the ropes and ARMSTRONG bounced back, sliding through BEPO'S legs and wrapping the big man up in a small package to get the surprise win!
Dennis Condrey vs. Larry "The Axe" Hennig Larry "The Axe" Hennig defeated Dennis Condrey with a DQ when CONDREY slammed HENNIG into the guardrails Match Rating: 1.50 Match Notes: Again the ref seemed to have lost control a bit during this match as the action became unwieldily once it spilled outside the ring. CONDREY looked impressive in this match and was handling HENNIG'S assault but then seemed to get frustrated once the action went to the floor and resorted to slamming him into the guardrails.
- TEXAS DEATH MATCH - Cousin Luke vs. Tom Prichard Tom Prichard defeated Cousin Luke with a pinfall after COUSIN LUKE missed a turnbuckle charge and slammed headfirst into the ring post Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: The amazing thing about this match was that it was the one match where the combatants would have been allowed to take the action outside the ring and they didn't! These two men battled back and forth in the center of the ring scoring near falls on each other and it wasn't until PRICHARD used his lightning like reflexes to dodge out of the way of LUKE'S turnbuuckle charge that one had the upper hand. A solid match from two mid-card guys.
- SURVIVAL RULES MATCH - NEW AGE OUTLAWS vs. BACK ALLEY PUNKS Brutus Beefcake defeated "Badd Ass" Billy Gunn with a FLYING KNEE SMASH into a pinfall "Road Dogg" Jesse James defeated Brutus Beefcake with a pinfall after BILLY GUNN interfered after the ref was knocked out for a few seconds "Road Dogg" Jesse James defeated Virgil with a PUMP HANDLE SLAM into a pinfall Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: Well if there was ever any doubts that the NEW AGE OUTLAWS have rededicated themselves to winning, they were gone after this match! the OUTLAWS worked like a well oiled machine tonight and dominated from the start of the match. There was a time when the BACK ALLEY PUNK'S experience took over and BEEFCAKE was able to score a pinfall, but this just seemed to light a fire under ROAD DOGG who was able to put away the weakened BEEFCAKE and VIRGIL for the win.
- STEEL CAGE MATCH - "Cowboy" Bob Orton vs. S. D. Jones "Cowboy" Bob Orton defeated S. D. Jones with a vicious spear that knocked S. D. JONES out and allowed ORTON to escape the cage - pinfall - Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: By all accounts this should have been a cakewalk for ORTON but it just wasn't. JONES put up a heck of a fight and even came close to winning a time or two. It will be interesting to see if this match puts the final nail into this feud or if JONES will want another match. ORTON could certainly be a top contender to the WVVW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP if he wasn't dealing with JONES. The two have had three surprisingly good matches, all three of which could have gone either way at any time.
- 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS - NO DQ/COUNTOUTS - FOR THE TITLE OF 'MR. PERFECT' - Mr. Perfect vs. Belgian Brawler Mr. Perfect defeated Belgian Brawler with a SLEEPER HOLD into a submission Mr. Perfect defeated Belgian Brawler with a PERFECT PLEX into a pinfall Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Asking any wrestling critic and they would have told you that there was really no way PERFECT would have lost this match, but for the first few minutes everyone was wondering if PERFECT'S time out for injury had diminished his skills and perhaps this was too high a caliber match for his comeback, but those doubts were squashed once PERFECT took control. PERFECT took the first fall by putting the BRAWLER out with a sleeper hold and then woke him up for the second fall and put him out with the PERFECT PLEX moments later! There's no doubt MR. PERFECT is back and ready to compete in the WCCW!
- WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - MIDNIGHT EXPRESS vs. THE VALIANT BROTHERS for the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Bobby Eaton defeated Johnny Valiant with a DQ due to out of control brawling Match Rating: 1.00 Match Notes: The crowd was fired up to see THE VALIANT BROTHERS finally get their hands on the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS with the belts on the line, but it seems that they were almost too fired up as the match barely got underway when it broke out into a massive brawl! Even CORNETTE and ALBANO got in on the brawl and the ref had no decision but to call the match. Since THE VALIANTS had started the fight the EXPRESS got the decision.
- WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - The Destroyer vs. Missing Link for the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Missing Link defeated The Destroyer with a FALLING HEAD BUTT into a pinfall Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: It's quite possible that the unpredictable MISSING LINK was just TOO unpredictable for THE DESTROYER. The champ never seemed to get his footing at all in this match and tried every tactic he could think of to try and put the MISSING LINK away, but the LINK would have none of it and kept regaining the advantage. In the end it was a FALLING HEAD BUTT (helped along with a few errant chair shots behind the ref's back) that lead the MISSING LINK to a pinfall victory and the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!
Missing Link won the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

As SWEENY tended to the fallen DELIRIOUS, CORNETTE grabbed the mic.
CORNETTE: Ha ha haaa. Sweeny, welcome to the WCCW! It ain't gonna be as easy as it looks! Ha ha haaaaa!

050 - HOMECOMING 05.08.2072 from Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, CA
- COMMISSIONER PATRICK WELCOME - FADE IN
We are in the SOLD OUT OAKLAND COLISEUM and as the opening theme plays, standing in the ring is WCCW Commissioner, COMMISSIONER PATRICK. THe crowd is going wild and when they finally settle down, PATRICK can welcome us.
PATRICK: Greetings WCCW and welcome to HOMECOMING!
CROWD CHEERS.
PATRICK: You know, I'm the type of man who is not afraid to admit when I've made a mistake. Last year when we joined the LWA, I thought it was the right thing to do. I thought it would bring our federation more recognition. But it didn't. What it did do was make a complete mess of things. All of our top talent, talent you loved and cheered since we opened our doors was spread across the United States. We were left some great talent, but were also forced to sign some mediocre talent at best. Then there was the gross mismanagement of the LWA! Getting any of the main office of the LWA was like pulling teeth. It was a mess and for that unfortunate waste of time I deeply apologize. I've learned from my mistakes and I hope to prove that to you, the wrestling fans tonight. Tonight, at HOMECOMING, you're going to see the return of several of your favorite WCCW stars! In fact, let's start right now! Ladies and gentlemen, wrestling in your first match tonight, the return of...
Suddenly over the PA system: HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
CROWD CHEERS
PATRICK: HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN!
CROWD CHEERS as DUGGAN makes his way to the ring to take on GEROGE SOUTH in our opening match.
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan vs. George South "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeated George South with a pinfall via a FLYING SPEAR Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Short and sweet match that saw the returning DUGGAN taking the fall rather quickly. After the match he grabbed the microphone.
DUGGAN: Listen up! Good ol' Hackasaw is back in the WCCW! Right where he belongs! I'm here to be the WCCW Enforcer! You break the rules you get an up close personal visit from this here 2x4! Got it! HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
DUGGAN stormed out of the ring to the cheers of the fans in attendance.
- BACK ALLEY PUNKS PROMO - THE BACK ALLEY PUNKS' music hits and BRUTUS BEEFCAKE and VIRGIL make their way to the ring to a loud chorus of boos from the crowd. Conspicuous by her absence is TRINITY DENUCCI. BEEFCAKE AND VIRGIL hit the ring.
BEEFCAKE: Well, one thing I can say for sure is that the BACK ALLEY PUNKS sure haven't lit any rings on fire since we teemed up. And the finger of blame, I believe belongs pointed squarely in the direction of our worthless manager, Trinity Denucci! I mean who'd heard of this chick before she teamed with us? She was a nobody and she still is a nobody and now she's being a nobody out in some backwoods indy fed. Good riddance.
VIRGIL comes and grabs the mic from BEEFCAKE.
VIRGIL: That's right. We're gonna be a lot better off without her around! She was trash and now she is out with the trash!
Both men laugh.
VIRGIL: You know, Beefcake, you are a skilled tag team technician. I like that about you. I also like that you're street tough. You came from the streets and it really shows. You smell of the streets. You have a sort of raw, powerful...odor that once it gets into your nose, you can't do much else but vomit!
BEEFCAKE is floored, he spins around.
VIRGIL: That's right! You're nothing but a piece of street trash much like DeNucci! I'm much more used to hanging out with a higher class bunch and starting today that's exactly what I'm aiming to do!
PA SYSTEM begins blaring the MILLION DOLLA THEME and down the ramp comes THE MILLION DOLLAR MAN TED DIBIASE and SENSATIONAL SHERRI. DIBIASE gets into the ring and stands face to face with BEEFCAKE when VIRGIL suddenly attacks BEEFCAKE from behind.
Moments into the beating the crowd erupts as the returning GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE makes his way to the ring with a referee in tow! VALENTINE tells the ref to start the match and the bell sounds and it looks like an impromptu tag team match is underway!
THE DREAM TEAM vs. MILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION Brutus Beefcake defeated Virgil with a pinfall after a running stomp Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: A decent match between these two version of former WCCW teams. Definitely not the last time we'll see them meet in the ring, for sure.
- S.D. JONES - S.D. JONES makes his way to the ring to the boos of the crowd. He grabs the mic.
JONES: Well, well, well, look who survived the cut. And is it any surprise?! I have been on a sweet, sweet roll! The most dominant...
VOICE ON PA: Oh would you just shut up!
The crowd is silenced as is S.D. JONES as the somewhat familiar voice and from behind the curtain steps none other than BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN!
"Weasel' chants begin from the crowd.
HEENAN: Yeah, yeah, yeah...you huminoids just keep shouting weasel all you want. I could care less. I have bigger fish to fry tonight. And as for you, S.D. Jones, I've got a very big fish for you to try and fry tonight!
JONES: Heenan, you don't scare me. There's no one you can bring out here that can take me.
HEENAN: Is that so? Well then I got a special delivery S.D. Jones. It's a large package and I'm afraid it's C.O.D. Here's KING KONG BUNDY!
S.D. JONES looks a little nervous as the crowd begins to boo louder.
The crowd boos as the enormous BUNDY makes his way to ringside and our next match is set to begin.
S. D. Jones vs. King Kong Bundy King Kong Bundy defeated S. D. Jones with a pinfall after two devastating AVALANCHES and a five count pin. Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Though JONES showed some decent offense, it wasn't enough against the mountain of a man that BUNDY is. After the match BUDY stood, spit on the lifeless JONES and left the ring with HEENAN.
- JIM CORNETTE PROMO - JIM CORNETTE comes to the ring much to the chagrin of the fans in attendance. He climbs into the ring, clutching some papers in his hand. He grabs a mic and waits for the crowd to semi settle down.
CORNETTE: That's right you morons, shut up! Let Mama Cornette's pride and joy, the best manager the WCCW has ever seen. But recently, the team I've been managing has been a bit lacking. The Midnight Express, i love them boys, but they have been letting me down. Losing the belts to a far inferior team, the stinking Valiant Brothers! Well I've had about enough and Midnight Express, I officially resign as your manager.
CROWD doesn't know how to react. MIDNIGHT EXPRESS' music hits and LANE and EATON make their way to the ring with bewildered looks on their faces.
CORNETTE: Oh look, here they come with sourpuss faces! Waaa waa waaa.
MIDNIGHT EXPRESS climbs into the ring and ask CORNETTE what's going on.
CORNETTE: (Laughs) You two actually have the nerve to look shocked. Look, face facts, you've been on a bit of a downhill slide as of late. But you know, I reckon I should give you guys a chance. A chance to make it up to me. In my hand here is a managerial contract. I'll make it simple, you win a match tonight and I'll sign this contract and once again the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS can call me, Jim Cornette their manager. In fact, let's really make it sporting and open the challenge to ANY tag team back there in the locker room! I'm putting this contract on the line right here tonight. ANy tag team back there who thinks they could benefit by having the greatest manager in the WCCW as their manager, come on out here and face the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS. The winner of the match gets me as a manager!
There was a bit of silence as everyone wondered who would accept the challenge.
PA SYSTEM: "Oh you didn't know" (NEW AGE OUTLAW'S MUSIC hits. Bad Ass Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James make their way to ringside. They climb up into the ring and grab a mic.
JAMES: Look at this Billy. An open managerial contract. Now, you know we've been real hit or miss since we got here to the WCCW. THis could be just the boost our career needs.
GUNN: You know D-O- Double G, I think you're right. Okay Cornette, put the contract on the line and say hello to your new Tag Team!
CORNETTE: You got it! Ring that bell cause no matter who wins tonight, it looks like I'll be the winner! Express, good luck!
CORNETTE climbs out of the ring and the bells rings to start the match.
MIDNIGHT EXPRESS vs. NEW AGE OUTLAWS Bobby Eaton defeated "Badd Ass" Billy Gunn with a pinfall after the DOUBLE GOOZLE Match Rating: 1.50 Match Notes: After the match, the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS and JIM CORNETTE celebrated their new contract with CORNETTE. Many fans wondered if the open contract was just a ruse to lure the OUTLAWS into a match with the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS.
- SENSATIONAL SHERRI PROMO - SENSATIONAL SHERRI makes her way to the ring to a chorus of boos. She' has a clear briefcase in hand with wads of $100 bills clearly visible inside.
SHERRI: As the CEO of the MILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION, it falls on me to spend Mr. DiBiase's money wisely. And if you know me, I love to spend money. (Laughs) My first order of business was to secure Mr. DiBiase's empire. Make sure his money was safe and sound. So i went out and found me a new 'head of security'. Someone who'll put their life on the line to protect Mr. DiBiase's assets! The Million DOllar Corporation is proud to present it's new Head Of Security, THE MOUNTIE!
THE MOUNTIE makes his way to the ring, threatening the crowd with his shock stick. He climbs into the ring and stands behind SHERRI.
SHERRI: Now, The Mountie want's nothing more than to prove that he'll do anything to protect Mr. Dibiase's money. So here's $500,000 in cold hard american cash. $500,000 of Mr. DiBiase's money. This is an open challenge to anyone to try and come out here and take this money from Mr. DiBiase. All you have to do is go through THE MOUNTIE! SO who's it going to be?
Suddenly, at the top of the ramp appears a short, round bearded man.
MAN: Good evening WCCW. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sir Oliver Humperdink.
CROWD is a little unsure to react.
HUMPERDINK: Ms. Sherri, I believe I would like a crack at that $500,000. I'm sure it'd go a long way to establishing my foothold here in the WCCW.
SHERRI looks at HUMPERDINK for a moment then busts into laughter.
SHERRI: You? You want to step into the ring with THE MOUNTIE?! Are you insane? He'd destroy you in seconds.
HUMPERDINK: (Laughs) Oh no, I'm sorry, I misspoke there Ms. Sherri. You see, I'd only get 20% of that $500,000. I'm just a manager. I'm new here you probably didn't know that. But one of my men, my charges in the House Of Humperdink would be wrestling for that money. He's not someone who's new here though. In fact, he's quite an experienced WCCW wrestler.
SHERRI: It doesn't matter who it is, fatty. Send him down. THere's no way he's gonna defeat THE MOUNTIE.
HUMPERDINK: FIne, here he is, a man who will only reach new heights under my tutelage, Cowboy Bob Orton!
The COLESIUM erupts as ORTON runs to ringside and charges THE MOUNTIE. The bell rings and we are underway!
The Mountie vs. "Cowboy" Bob Orton The Mountie defeated "Cowboy" Bob Orton with a pnfall after THE MOUNTIE hit ORTON with his shock stick and knocked him out Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: ORTON was in control for much of the match and had frustrated the MOUNTIE to the point of desperation and that's when SENSATIONAL SHERRI jumped up onto the apron and distracted the ref allowing MOUNTIE to brian ORTON on the head with the shock stick and get the quick pin.
- KING HARLEY RACE PROMO - A large cheer went up as KING HARLEY RACE made his way to the ring. THough he's never been a total fan favorite, WCCW fans respect the longest reigning champion the fed has ever had. The KING came to the ring and grabbed the mic.
RACE: Thank you. Thank you very much. Here we are at Homecoming and the King is still a part of the WCCW. I for one am glad we're no longer part of that LWA. To me it was the wrong choice to make and I'm glad we're now free from those shackles. I have to admit though that since that moment the King's lost his way a bit. I've been out of it. Unfocused. I needed something to return that focus so I can return to my rightful throne atop the WCCW. So in order to bring that focus back, I'd like to introduce my new manager....Bobby "The Brain" Heenan!
The crowd instantly turns on the KING as HEENAN makes his way, laughing, down to the ring. HEENAN climbs into the ring and the two men embrace.
KING: Now, to kick off this new, LWA-less, era of the WCCW, I want a fresh challenge. I want a challenge I've never face before to prove my superiority in the ring. So if there's anyone back there in the locker room who's yet to step in the ring with me and has always wanted to, get on out here so I can make you BOW!
There's an odd silence as everyone wonders who will accept. Suddenly SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK appears at the top of the ramp.
HUMPERDINK: You want a fresh challenge eh? A challenge you've not faced before? Well I've looked through the records and have found out that one of my men has never been in the ring with you. And this same man, upon hearing your challenge ordered me to come out here and make the match. So if you want something new, I give you something Magnificent! Magnificent Muraco!
The crowd pops huge as Don Muraco makes his way to the ring with SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK and the match begins!
King Harley Race vs. Magnificent Muraco Magnificent Muraco defeated King Harley Race with a pinfall after a deathjump Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: This was an an amazing match. Many speculate that MURACO was the first wrestler to ever take RACE to this limit. The two men traded blow after blow, move after move and seemed to match each other perfectly. Both HEENAN and HUMPERDINK got involved but the match continued well past their interference. Fans were witnessing a true wrestling match. In the end MURACO was able to put RACE away after a spectacular deathjump. Fans all over the world hope that this is not the last time they get to witness these two battle each other as it truly was a spectacular match.
- CAPTAIN LOU ALBANO PROMO - CAPTAIN LOU ALBANO makes his way to the ring to the delight of the crowd.
ALBANO: You know something, everyone's been complaining about the LWA but the Capper has to admit that things have been going great for him since that time. The Missing Link has become the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION and the VALIANT BROTHERS are the WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS. That's right, the Capper's been on top so I could care less about leaving the LWA. I will say this though, leaving the LWA has allowed me to reconnect with a former tag team of mine that had gone off to other parts of the country, would you please welcome THE KILLER BEES.
Large cheer from the CROWD as the KILLER BEES make their way up into the circle. Their return celebration is cut short however when a voice comes over the P.A..
VOICE: Oh, isn't that sweet. A nice little homecoming.
Suddenly, a man from the distant past of the WCCW (back when it was the LOWF), steps through the curtain with the mic. THis is former XWF owner THE GRAND WIZARD!
WIZARD: That's right, I'm back! And Albano, you fat swine, it appears two of my men still have some unfinished business with your Bees!
ALBANO: Wizard, you turban headed freak! My Bees will take on anyone!
WIZARD: Fine. Cause my men, THE IRON SHEIK and NIKOLAI VOLKOFF can't wait to get into the ring with them.
THE IRON SHEIK and NIKOLAI VOLKOFF steo through the curtain and it looks like we'll have a match.
WIZARD: One thing though, as you may or may not know, THE IRON SHEIK here is injured. He's not been cleared to wrestle by the doctors. So tonight, Nikolai VOlkoff would love to step into the ring with either Bee!
ALBANO: Get down here! And you'll get your match!
The GRAND WIZARD, THE IRON SHEIK and NIKOLAI VOLKOFF head to ringside and it looks like B. BRIAN BLAIR will be the one wrestling tonight in this unique singles/tag match.
Nikolai Volkoff vs. B. Brian Blair B. Brian Blair defeated Nikolai Volkoff with a DQ when the IRON SHIEK stormed the ring and kicked BLAIR in the head with his loaded boot Match Rating: 1.50 Match Notes: SHIEK and VOLKOFF bailed out of the ring immediately after the bell and with the GRANT WIZARD high tailed it down the aisle into the back. BRUNZELL and ALBANO helped
- MR. PERFECT PROMO - MR. PERFECT'S music hits and he makes his way to ringside to a chorus of cheers. He steps into the ring.
PERFECT: Well, I'm poud to say, I've done it! That's right I've driven my father from the WCCW! You've seen the last of Larry "The Axe" Henning. That's now fred me up to concentrate on bigger and better things, namely the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. As perfect as I am, however, I realize that in order to achieve that will take some planning. That's why I've obtained the managerial services of the smartest man in professional wrestling, Bobby "The Brian" Heenan!
Again, at the mention of HEENAN'S name the crowd turns! HEENAN come out laughing and climbs into the ring.
HEENAN: Boy oh boy, it seems to me as if the Heenan Family is growng more and more powerful by the second! Bundy, Race and now Mr. Perfect! The most perfect athlete in the WCCW. The Heenan family is unbeatable!
WIZARD: I wouldn't say, unbeatable!
THE GRAND WIZARD appears at the top of the ramp. The CROWD is a little unsure how to react as both HEENAN and the GRAND WIZARD are far from fan favorites.
WIZARD: Just how perfect is Mr. Perfect?
HEENAN: Are you kidding, this man's kills are legendary. He's the most technically sound athlete in the WCCW.
WIZARD: Well how is he against an opponent who's a little more, shall we say, unpredictable?
HEENAN: Heh, there's no one out there that you could produce that would be able to out wrestle Mr. Perfect in the ring.
WIZARD: Out wrestle? Heh. I wasn't talking bout out wrestling my man. I'm talking about surviving my man. You want the perfect challenge, here he is! Witness the raw destruction of....THE SHEIK!
THE SHIEK tears through the curtain heading down to ringside and the bell rings and our match is underway!
Mr. Perfect vs. The Sheik Mr. Perfect defeated The Sheik with a DQ when SHIEK refused to stop brawling outside the ring Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: This match was a blur of scientific versus out and out brutality the WCCW has ever seen. In the end, PERFECT got the win when SHIEK refused to stop brawling and was DQ'd. These two will meet again for sure to determine a winner.

PATRICK: Well fans, I think we've had a wild night of action so far wouldn't you?
CROWD cheers.
PATRICK: But the night ain't over yet! WCCW'S HOMECOMING is a supercard and as you know on supercards, titles are defended that's why tonight both championships will be decided! First I'd like to introduce your WCCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, along with the manager Captain Lou Albano, Jimmy and Johnny Valiant, The Valiant Brothers!
Big cheer from the crowd as ALBANO and THE VALIANT BROTHERS make their way to ringside and climb up into the ring.
PATRICK: Now Lou, you know that all WCCW CHampions must defend their championships in a timely manner.
ALBANO: Of course, of course Patrick. And my men here will gladly face any challenge from any tag team. Who do we got tonight? The Million Dollar Corporation? The Dream team.
PATRICK: No they've already wrestled.
ALBANO: NEW AGE OUTLAWS or those bums the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS?
PATRICK: No again, they've already wrestled.
ALBANO: Well then who is it, don't keep the Capper in suspence.
PATRICK: Well, in order to get this team to sign with the WCCW, I had to promise them that their first match would be a title match and...
ALBANO: That's fine, my men here are the most dominating tag team in professional wrestling today! Bring them out!
PATRICK: Fine. Ladies and gentlemen, your challengers for tonight....THE ROAD WARRIORS!
The roof of the COLISEUM is about blasted off with cheering as HAWK, ANIMAL and PAUL ELLERING step through the curtain! The ROAD WARRIORS are focused on nothing but THE VALIANTS as they march down the ramp to the ring.

- COMMISSIONER PATRICK PROMO - THE ROAD WARRIORS celebrate in the ring and COMMISSIONER PATRICK comes out to congratulate them. Once things settle down and the ROAD WARRIORS return to the locker room, PATRICK grabs the mic to announce the main event.
PATRICK: Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, The Missing LInk and his manager, Captain Lou Albano!
Huge cheers from the CROWD as CAPTAIN LOU ALBANO leads THE MISSING LINK to the ring. The LINK, as always, is wild and scatterbrianed, so ALBANO does his best to focus him.
PATRICK: Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, for your main event, we're going to do something historic. We're going to take the WCCW CHAMPIONSHIP BELT here and with one match add even more prestige to it. For you see the WCCW Belt has been held by Ted DiBiase, The Iron Sheik, Harley Race, The Destroyer and, of course it's current holder, The Missing Link. But tonight we'll make it the most sought after belt in the history of professional wrestling as we unify it with the belt that every professional wrestler in the known universe was gunning for. For the Link's opponent tonight is none other than the LWA WOLRD CHAMPION, Ravishing Rick Rude!
RICK RUDE heads to ringside with his manager BOBBY HEENAN. RUDE carries with him the LWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP belt. Thy enter the ring and stand facing THE MISSING LINK who is in the corner looking wild eyed at the crowd.
PATRICK: Tonight we will unify the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP and the LWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP into one title. Tonight, whom ever wins unifies the belt and becomes the ultimate champion as the LWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP becomes absorbed into the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!
CROWD cheers!
PATRICK: May the best man win!
COMMISSIONER PATRICK leaves the ring and when CAPTAIN LOU and BOBBY HEENAN do as well, the bell rings and we're off.
Missing Link vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude for the WCCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Missing Link defeated "Ravishing" Rick Rude with a pinfall after an ATOMIC DROP Match Rating: 5.00 Match Notes: Many predicted this would be LINK'S last match as champion. Here you had the defending LWA champion returning to the WCCW to face the man who had entered the LWA title tournament himself and lost. But those predictions turned out to be as unpredictable as the MISSING LINK himself. THis was a wild match that saw chairs, managers and just about everything but the kitchen sink involved. In the end, the LINK was able to put RUDE away.
As the show went off the air, HEENAN was screaming that they would be demanding a rematch. It'll be interesting to see what COMMISSIONER PATRICK will say about that possibility.
THE MISSING LINK celebrated by hugging both belts, though it was unclear if he understood the magnitude of what he'd accomplished tonight. That's all from Oakland as we...
