7. Jimmy Snuka def. Ted DiBiase w/Virgil
DiBiase pays a fan to polish his boots before the match drawing monster heat. Snuka is like a man possessed and destroys the Million Dollar Man from bell to bell. There is great high spot midway through the match where Snuka dives over the ropes onto both DiBiase & Virgil at ringside (LWF! LWF!). Jimmy Snuka wins the tournament and the title. NEW CHAMPION! **
8. World Tag Team Title Match – Greg & Johnny Valentine (ch) def. Buddy Rose & Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupré
The Valentines continue to dominate their competition this time cutting off Rose from his corner the entire match. Johnny Valentine ends the bout quickly with a pair of ATOMIC SKULL CRUSHERS. *
Notes: An excellent and history making night from Landover . . . Jimmy Snuka is the new US Champion and Ted DiBiase is not happy about it. After the match, The Million Dollar Man was telling anyone who would listen that titles cannot change hands in the LWF by count-out and therefore titles should not be won by count-out. The LWF Championship Committee representative on hand in Landover stated that Jimmy Snuka won the tournament and therefore was awarded the US Title by the Championship Committee. Snuka did not beat DiBiase for the title. . . The Valentines look unstoppable . . . The Destroyer looked impressive in his loss to Buddy Rogers. The masked man knows how to work . . . Buddy Rogers will face Bobo Brazil in the World Title Tournament finals on the next card from Madison Square Garden. Bobo Brazil is proving to be the comeback kid of the LWF pulling out a come from behind victory for the second time in the LWF tournament. The COCO BUTT, despite being a 0 finisher, is an effective weapon.
