Yes it's true, I have decided to reboot one more time. I was only a few cards in and didn't like the way things were going. I am finding it hard to balance my time between the GWF and LWF so I may end up having to make the big choice. My restart will use the original 24 plus Virgil and Nikita. 16 men have qualified for the heavyweight title tournament which will take place over the next several weeks with the finals taking place on January 17 at Madison Square Garden. The fed locations and card dates are taken from the (whatever) schedule I found on line. So we are looking at a mainly North East locations with the occassional card in the South and Asia. Here is my first restart card.... Saturday January 1st , Year One The Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA Round One of the LWF World Title Tournament: Nick Bockwinkel over Road Warrior Animal w/Road Warrior Hawk by disqualification . . . Frank Gotch bested King Kong Bundy by disqualification . . . Road Warrior Hawk crushed Killer Kowalski with a FLYING CLOTHESLINE . . . Buddy Rogers defeated Iron Sheik by count out . . . Jimmy Snuka dominated Red Bastien with a SUPERFLY LEAP . . . Bobo Brazil advanced over Ted DiBiase w/Virgil by disqualification . . . The Destroyer stunned Johnny Valentine with a FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK (4.5) . . . Harley Race pinned Giant Baba following a PILEDRIVER in a surprisingly quick match. Notes: Not a bad start with The Destroyer and Johnny Valentine stealing the show with a classic match that went back and forth for nearly an hour . . . 2nd Round matches will be Harley Race v. Buddy Rogers; Bobo Brazil v. Road Warrior Hawk; Jimmy Snuka v. The Destroyer; and Frank Gotch v. Nick Bockwinkel . . . Up next, we head to Brooklyn New York to start the World Tag Team Title Tournament featuring the Road Warriors, Valiant Brothers and Valentines amongst others.

After the match Sandman and Baker argue and Baker lays out Sandman with a HEART PUNCH . . . Giant Baba & Destroyer destroyed Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff w/Nikita Brezinkov by disqualification. Both teams brawl after the bell.
Notes: For the second straight card Johnny Valentine is a participant in the match of the night. After the match, Ted DiBiase uses his MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER to set up King Kong Bundy’s AVALANCHE on Johnny who is removed on stretcher. . . The Destroyer was a dominate force in tonight’s main event and is favoured to advance over Jimmy Snuka in the next round of the LWF World Title Tournament . . . The partnership between Ox Baker and The Sandman was short lived with the Baker leaving his tag team partner laying in the ring with a HEART PUNCH. The two actually gave the Road Warriors a solid run for their money before the post match altercation.

I have revised my reporting style and will once again reboot. I am going to try and stick with it this time. I am going to use a limited number of arenas, The three Gardens (Boston, Maple Leaf & Madison Square) along with the Spectrum and Capital Centre. I am going to keep the real date feel based on the WWF listing on the Wrestling Information Archive website. Television tapings will commence after my title tournaments wrap up. The taping will be held once a month at the Field House and Agriculture Hall.
With all that out of the way, it is time to go to the arena of your mind for some LWF action. Card #1 is here.....
Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA – Saturday January 1, year one
United States Title Tournament Round One
Playboy Buddy Rose v. Killer Kowalski Rose is out and provides some humour by getting in the announcers face telling him he weighs 217, not 271. Kowalski is an absolute monster tonight. After Rose controls the early action by essentially counter-wrestling and applying a side headlock, Kowalski unleashes a ruthless power attack including a vicious full nelson suplex. Rose survives a giant swing and a bombs away knee drop but a second bombs away knee drop ends the match. * ½
Red Bastien v. Ox Baker The crowd pops huge for Bastien and he responds with taking Baker to the mat with a flying head scissors for an early 1 count. Bastien does not let up scoring two more near falls after flying dropkicks and an ATOMIC DROP. Bastien shows he can take things to the extreme hip tossing Baker onto the arena floor and diving off the top of the turnbuckles onto Baker at ringside (LWF, LWF, LWF!!!). Baker kicks out after an ATOMIC DROP and a pair of flying dropkicks but a third ATOMIC DROP gives Bastien the shocking one sided victory. **
The Sandman v. King Kong Bundy Bundy tells everyone who will listen that Sandman is going down for the five count. The Philly fans pop huge for Sandman. Sandman gets the crowd pumped with a Heinenkenrana. Bundy is the worst card in the deck. He cannot string together any offence and the crowd is all over him. Sandman sends Bundy to the ropes and nails him with a flying elbow smash. Sandman unleashes his SINGAPORE CANE and is disqualified. Sandman goes after Bundy after the bell, and with the crowd cheering him on, Sandman thrashes Bundy with the SINGAPORE CANE leaving him in a bloody mess. Security arrives and Bundy needs assistance leaving the ring. Bundy cannot work but he sure can bleed. For the record, Bundy is injured for five cards but is not expected to miss any time in the ring.* ½
Greg Valentine v. Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupré The sound of pop and circumstance starts the crowd going and George and Dupré proceed to draw huge heat while Dupré disinfects the ring and the referee! Valentine is the crowd favorite by default. Dupré tries to interfere at the opening bell but Valentine chases her around ringside until George comes out and rams Valentine head first into the steel rails busting him open. Valentine comes back and works over George with neck breakers, shoulder breakers and a surprising death jump cross body block scoring three near falls before George takes over outside the ring ramming Valentine in the steel ring post cutting him a second time. A bloody Valentine connects with a neck breaker for a two count before the match spills to the floor again. George blocks Valentines falling double hammer from the ring apron and rolls up Valentine in the ring, scoring the pin with a handful of tights. George and Dupré flee ringside drawing massif heat from the fans. Officials attend to Valentine who is an absolute mess. ** ½
World Tag Team Title Tournament – Semi Finals
Road Warriors v. Jimmy & Johnny Valiant The Warriors charge the ring and chase the Valiant brothers to the floor. Animal overpowers Johnny V including two overhead body slams. Later, Hawk connects with a perfect dropkick on Jimmy Valiant sending Valiant flying into his own corner leading to a tag out. Johnny Valiant hits Hawk with a running slingshot in the corner and the Valiant’s team up with a TOP ROPE ELBOW for a 2 ½ count. Hawk catches Jimmy Valiant climbing the buckles and tosses him to the mat but moments later Jimmy rolls clear of Animal death jump knee drop and covers the Road Warrior for a ½ count. The match goes back and forth with the Warriors connecting with a double clothesline on Jimmy Valiant. Johnny Valiant stops Hawk cold with a kick to the groin (if not lower) drawing massif heat from the fans. The Valiants hit Hawk with a TOP ROPE ELBOW for the pin while Johnny blocks Animal save attempt ramming Animal into the steel post. The Valiant Brothers hit Hawk with two more TOP ROPE ELBOWS before Animal recovers and breaks up the attack with a clothesline to Jimmy and a POWERSLAM on Johnny. Hawk is injured for one card. ** ½
Giant Baba & The Destroyer v. Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff w/Nikita Breznikov Japanese media fill ringside to cover the match. Sheik and Volkoff draw the best heat of the night with their mic work. Sheik concludes his rant by spitting on the photographers at ringside. Both teams make quick defensive tags but Sheik heats things up spitting on Destroyer. Volkoff overpowers Destroyer but the masked legend catches the Russian with an elbow to the face in the corner and the action spills to the floor. Volkoff runs Destroyer’s shoulder into the steel but the referee allows the match to continue. Volkoff & Sheik double team Destroyer in the corner with stomps before Sheik applies a CAMEL CLUTCH. Destroyer grabs the ropes but Sheik drags Destroyer and reapplies the hold. Destroyer submits as Volkoff blocks Baba from saving his partner. Destroyer is not impressed following the match and argues with Baba in the ring while the Japanese media scurry around ringside looking for the best shot. * ½
World Title Tournament – Round One
Ted DiBiase w/Virgil v. Buddy Rogers Both men are greeted with a mixed reaction from the fans but DiBiase takes things to the next level flaunting a wad of cash to the fans and running down Virgil at ringside. DiBiase blocks a figure four leg lock and hits a vertical suplex before tossing Rogers to the fans. Rogers struts at ringside for the fans drawing solid heat but finds himself trapped in a MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER. Rogers maneuvers out of the hold but DiBiase quickly reapplies it and Rogers collapses but falls into the ropes forcing the break. Rogers escapes to the floor and DiBiase follows starting a wild brawl. The referee comes out but Rogers shoves the referee off his feet and is disqualified. *
Harley Race v. Nick Bockwinkel The fans are not impressed after the last match and are hostile to both men. Expectations are high for a classic from these two competitors. A handshake starts the match and impresses the fans. Race is the early aggressor with head butts and neckbreakers. Bockwinkel avoids a head butt and sends Race to the ropes following up with a clothesline and a very stiff looking kick to the ribs. Race manages to roll through a figure four attempt but Bockwinkel slows the match with a lengthy abdominal stretch before dropping Race with a back suplex for a one count. A BOCKWINKLE SLEEPER nearly ends the match and Bockwinkel out brawls Race at ringside and applies a FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK. Race makes it to the ropes and the action spills to the floor. Bockwinkel rams Race’s head into the steel rails busting Race open. The referee disqualifies Bockwinkel as both men brawl to the dressing room. ** 1/2

Capital Centre, Landover MD, Sunday January 16th, year one Injuries: King Kong Bundy 3 cards
Playboy Buddy Rose v. The Sandman Rose provides some comic relief yelling at the announcer that he actually weights 217 pounds, not 271. The fans greet Sandman with a nice ovation. Rose sets the early pace but Sandman takes over with a tackle off the ropes and sends the action to the floor with a White Russian Legsweep. Sandman dominates including a chair shot to the back and an impressive flying elbow into the face of Rose who was rebounding off the ropes. Sandman climbs the buckles for a deathjump clothesline and then unleashes the SINGAPORE CANE. King Kong Bundy hits the ring but Sandman spots him and executes a perfect noggin knocker sending Bundy to the floor before covering Rose for the pin. Bundy is furious after the match. **
Buddy Rogers v. Greg Valentine Rogers draws solid heat and the fans put their support behind “The Hammer.” The action quickly spills to the floor following a jumping knee smash by Rogers but it is Valentine who takes advantage outside the ring dominating the Nature Boy. Rogers escapes a FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK and later reverses Valentine’s whip into the turnbuckles connecting with a running slingshot. Rogers tries for cheap win with a pin using the ropes but Valentine kicks out easily. The action goes back and forth until Rogers stops Valentine’s charge into the corner with a stiff elbow to the face and then traps Valentine in a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE for the win. ** ½
Road Warriors v. Giant Baba & The Destroyer As always, the Japanese media follow Baba wherever he goes. Both team are focused and need a win tonight. Hawk stuns the crowd with a pair of vertical suplexes on Baba and then tosses Baba to ringside three times, the final time sending Baba crashing onto several photographers (which they actually seem to enjoy!) Baba crawls back into the ring and somehow manages to survive a DOOMSDAY DEVICE. Baba catches Animal on the top of the buckles and tosses the Road Warrior to the mat. Destroyer trades moves with both Warriors before Animal catches him with a POWER SLAM for the pin but Baba makes the save. The action rolls to the floor and Animal rams Destroyer’s head into the steel rails and is disqualified. After the bell sounds, the fans boo but the action continues with Hawk taking out Baba with a clothesline. The Warriors nail Destroyer with a spike piledriver onto a chair drawing huge heat from the fans. Baba recovers and breaks up the attack on his partner as the fans shower the ring with garbage. Destroyer is removed on a stretcher and suffers a seven card injury. ***
United States Title Tournament – Semi-Finals
King Kong Bundy v. Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupré Dupré draws huge heat insisting on spraying the ring with disinfectant before the match while George jars with the fans at ringside. Bundy is out and his head is bandaged and his back still has marks from Sandman’s Singapore Cane. Bundy holds up five figures symbolizing that George will go down for the five count. George avoids a short clothesline and applies a Gorgeous Grip but Bundy powers free. George then rolls up Bundy for an attempted small package and as Bundy attempts to regain his feet, George somehow lifts Bundy into an airplane spin and then drops him to the mat for a near fall (huge pop). Bundy is stunned and bails to the floor but George is all over him and rams Bundy’s head into the steel rails busting him open. Dupré is unable to distract the referee who calls for the bell and disqualifies George. * ½
Red Bastien v. Killer Kowalski Bastien is clearly the underdog and fans get behind him the moment he steps into the ring. Kowalski is dominating from the opening bell and within minutes, Bastien is bloody mess courtesy of a Kowalski chair shot at ringside. Bastien blocks a body scissors attempt and downs Kowalski with a fireman’s carry. Kowalski quickly recovers, blocking a back drop attempt with a piledriver. Bastien only escapes a CLAW HOLD by grabbing the ropes. Kowalski is in complete control unleashing a bombs away knee drop, body scissors, a vicious running slingshot in the corner and an impressive death jump cross body block for a one and half count. Kowalski rams Bastien’s head into the steel rails and more blood flows. Bastien kicks out at the count of two following a bombs away knee drop and manages to make it to the ropes to break a CLAW HOLD. Kowalski drags his semi-conscious opponent to the middle of the ring and applies another CLAW HOLD and the referee issues the three-count. ** ½
World Title Tournament
Frank Gotch v. Jimmy Snuka The crowd is on fire for this one. A handshake starts the action. Snuka counters Gotch pure wrestling attack with a speed, head butts and vicious chops. Snuka downs Gotch with a slingshot in the corner and then goes up to the top of the buckle for a deathjump forearm smash that tangles Gotch in the ropes. Snuka allows the referee to free Gotch (solid pop). Snuka leads the action to the floor and Gotch ducks Snuka’s flying crossbody and Snuka crashes into the referee. The official calls for the bell while still on the floor disqualifying Snuka. Both Gotch and Snuka protest the decision as the ring fills with garbage. * ½
Johnny Valentine v. Bobo Brazil Brazil is out to a heroes welcome from the fans. The two opponents trade moves and Valentine picks a limb and goes to work with a standing arm lock. Valentine downs Brazil with a running slingshot in the corner but Brazil counters a deathjump with a boot to the face before going up top himself for a deathjump cross body block for a half count. The action spills in and out of the ring and both men are quickly a bloody mess. Brazil comes off the top with a 2nd cross body block for another near fall before connecting with a flying dropkick. Both men rebound off the ropes and hit a clothesline leaving both lying on the mat. Brazil is up first and hits a COCO BUTT. 1….2…. Greg Valentine nails Brazil with an elbowsmash breaking up the cover. The referee allows the match to continue and the action goes back and forth. Valentine avoids Brazil’s charge to the corner and Brazil flips over the ropes to the floor. Valentine follows him out starting a wild brawl. Brazil uses a chair shot on both Greg and Johnny Valentine and then swings at the referee who is attempting to grab the chair. The official disqualifies Brazil as the Valentine’s flee ringside with Brazil in pursuit. *** ½
World Tag Team Title Tournament – Finals
Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff w/ Nikitia Breznikov v. Johnny & Jimmy Valiant The fans are all over Sheik and Volkoff as they work the mic running down America. The Valiants are fan favourties by default in this one as Johnny sets the pace with kick to Volkoff’s groin and thumb to his eye (solid pop). My LWF fed heads home to MSG for card #3. In the main event, Sheik and Volkoff put their newly won tag team titles on the line against the Valiant Brothers in a rematch of the tag team title tournament final. Also, King Kong Bundy faces Killer Kowalski in the United States Title Tournament finals. The World Title Tournament continues with Frank Gotch facing Johnny Valentine and Ted DiBiase meeting Harley Race.
The Baba -Destroyer angle has been but on hold with the injury to Destroyer. Will the attack by the Road Warriors bring the team closer together or will it fuel the fire and cause Destroyer to turn on Baba for not saving from injury at the hands of Hawk and Animal?

I think this is a great LOW fed and I'm looking forward to reading the upcoming results on the next card.
My predictions: Sheik and Volkoff over the Valiants, Kowalski over Bundy, Gotch over Johnny Valentine, and Race over ted DiBiase.
