I just posted my WrestleRock results, and I used a "rookie card" version of Curt Hennig in his wrestling debut. This is a different set of stats for Curt, to signify his early years in the AWA, where he used a different moveset and was a mid to lower card wrestler. I have BIG plans for Curt, and will probably bring him in with his LOW stats at WrestleRock '08 next April.
Has anyone else every done anything like this in LOW? Since most of the cards are a snapshot of a wrestler's career (except Boogie Woogie and Mid South DiBiase), have you ever changed the storylines or stats for a wrestler in order to plan for the future?
If anyone's interested, I can post my rookie Hennig in the LOW bootlegs section of the board.

Has anyone else every done anything like this in LOW? Since most of the cards are a snapshot of a wrestler's career (except Boogie Woogie and Mid South DiBiase), have you ever changed the storylines or stats for a wrestler in order to plan for the future? When I brought Buddy Rose back to the USWA this year, I said that he had to wear a knee brace, as he had been injured by Nick Bockwinkel's figure-four when he left in '05. (Details of this can be found on my thread.) Because of the knee brace, I said that the BOMBS AWAY was a (+2), but I did have Rose roll his DQ whenever he tried it. If he wasn't DQ'd, I assumed that Sherri would distract the ref. Whenever a wrestler would try a leg submission (figure-four, spinning toehold, Boston Crab, etc.), and it was a finisher or led to a PIN, they would try to take Rose's brace off first. I had them roll two dice to see if they were successful. If they weren't, they re-rolled on L3O. (This idea was taken from the Ron Garvin-Greg Valentine feud in the WWF, where both had shin guards.) Rose had been a two-time World champ in my fed in his first stint. I knew there was a strong chance he wouldn't be able to repeat that success, due to the (un)luck of the dice. So I wanted to temporarily give him something extra to start him off at a good level. But even that didn't help, as he lost to the likes of Virgil and Danny Doring! Since then, the USWA banned him from using the knee brace, as it was revealed he didn't really need it. So now I use the original LOW stats. But all along, I had planned for this to be a temporary change to Rose's stats and not a permanent one.

Back from the dead, to rear it's ugly head....
What's biggest character change you've made with a Legends wrestler? For instance, I've turned Red Bastein into Komrade Red, similar to Barry Darsow's turn to Krusher Krushchev in the 80s. I know Mr. Vegas has done has Rapping Red Bastein character. What other changes have you made to a LOW wrester, either in terms of gimmick or face/heel designation?
I'm thinking of turning a career babyface heel in my AWA, and it got my curious in what others may have done.

In my NWA-Midwest region, Masked Superstar was the dominant heel. During a time when the heels were consistently beating the faces and no real viable face to challenge Superstar, I turned Superstar face and he has done very well since (including an NWA world title reign).

When I was a kid, Masked Superstar was one of those heels that I liked. There was something really cool about him, because he didn't rant and rave during his interviews, he just went out and explained why he was the best. And I always liked the Superstar clothesline!

I was a huge Masked Superstar fan. His no nonsense promos and work in the ring was great. Loved his feud with Mr. Wrestling II.
I didn't think I would like him as a face, but I actually do. Not changing a thing about him, now he just says what he is going to do to the heels and does it. He is the favorite to win the vacant NWA-Midwest title and still has his eye on getting the NWA gold back from Bockwinkel.

I agree 100% percent. I loved the Masked Superstar. I first saw him in the GA area when he wrestled Tommy Rich over the National Heavyweight title and then when he jumped to WWF he took Bob Backlund to the limit. A great mark out moment for me (I was 11) was when I watched Superstar take on Backlund at MSG on the USA network (They used to show whole cards from the Spectrum or NY) and he gave his patented Neckbreaker to Backlund in the middle of the ring! I went wild. This is it. New champion. Then for some reason he throws Backlund to the outside gives him two more Neckbreakers on the concrete and then LEAVES? Couldn't be more dissappointed.
Superstar works well as a face. He is a face for me in the Continental area. He's straight ahead and no nonsense.
