Tensions
"Just so you know, Omega...I'm coming for you, just as soon as I get done watching you and your son kick the Hell out of each other."
The relationship between Omega and Morpheus had completely soured. It was almost openly antagonistic these days. In fact, no one spoke to Morpheus much at all, anymore. He stalked the hallways of the arenas, a scowl perpetually on his face. Most of the non-wrestling personnel avoided him, as did some of the stars like The Wind Riders and Silvar. Much of the GWF roster was becoming this way...Star Warrior and Cosmos kept to themselves when they weren't overtly mocking other people. Mangus no longer looked out of place in his isolation.
But truly, Morpheus had the most sour disposition.
"Fine. I look forward to it." Came Omega's reply.
"Don't belittle me, Omega."
"I'm not, Morpheus. I genuinely look forward to getting in the ring with you again, I promise."
Morpheus stared at Omega and smirked.
"Your boy's turning out to be quite the punk."
Omega didn't bat an eye.
"So's yours."
Morpheus sneered.
"He's not my boy...you made sure of that."
"Is that what this is about? Huh? Me training Cosmos?"
"No! It's about your sanctamonius, self-righteous attitude! You talk about your glorious dream of a fair and neutral GWF! You and your One True Way. You're not always right, Omega! Listen to the fans! They half-heartedly applaud Caiman versus Hechilles...they go nuts for The Gamemasters versus Polarity!"
"Hmmph."
"Hmm?"
"Polarity. Funny you should bring them up."
"What? Why?"
"Because I know, Morpheus! I know you have been in contact with Jack Hood! That you've been letting his thugs in our back door!"
"What?"
"Don't lie to me! Don't you dare stand there and lie to me! I know you wanted Omega versus Hood from the night he challenged me! I know you worked out some kind of deal with him!"
"I did not! Polarity and Vice are here for the same reason everyone else is....they earned their spots. I was looking for talent, and they had it."
"Don't stand there and tell me that, Morpheus. Hood broke."
"What? When were you in contact with Hood?"
Omega smiled slightly as he saw Morpheus off-balance.
"When I went to fight him on Pleaides."
"Wait...you mean....you went there? You actually followed through?"
Omega said nothing.
"What happened? When?"
Omega slightly sneered. "I look forward to seeing you in the ring again, Morpheus.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Who might you be?" The Aethran field commander asked, staring down the tower at the lone AniMan.
"Name's Wolf. Don't bother callin' for help. I ran into your patrol about a mile back. I did a whole lotta damage to 'em...but they might live."
"Are you suicidal? Attacking an Aethran outpost on your own?"
"Me? Nope. I'm switchin' sides. Take me to your leaders."
GWF Arena Show 7/26/83 Deimos Intergalactic Arena, Mars
K.O. Keller vs Montrol
- One half of the tag team champions came to celebrate his win by smacking Montrol around. Keller put him down in short order with the TEN COUNT.
Winner: Keller via pinfall.
Mimic & Silvar vs Polarity (w/Vice)
- The crowd was vocal in their support of Silvar and Mimic, but fan support doesn't always matter in these things. Polarity outperformed them, and Sin made Mimic submit to the face claw!
Winners: Polarity via submission.
Lord Nexus vs Mangus, Destroyer of Humans
- Admittedly, Mangus hates earthlings more than he does Titans, but he was willing to settle for huring Nexus. Unfortunately for him, Nexus is tougher than some want to give him credit for, and he looked impressive in this outing, hitting Mangus with the TITAN DROP for the win!
Winner: Nexus via pinfall.
Mighty Grogan vs Vice (w/Polarity)
- Grogan's been pretty vocal about how he doesn't care for Vice and the Gang of Three, and he's not one to shy away from backing it up! Vice used his dirty tricks to stay in the game, and wound up posting Grogan, getting DQed.
Winner: Grogan via DQ.
POW Rules Match The Gamemasters vs Commander Sam & Omega
- I think a good number of fans were surprised that this situation came down to this! Neither side held anything back, and Commander Sam paid for slamming Star Warrior into a ringpost recently, when they caught him in the ENDGAME to finish him and win the match!
Winners: The Gamemasters via pinfall.
GWF Galaxian Champion Caiman vs Blood
- this was a long time in coming for Blood, who has been ineligible for title matches for the last year, thanks to being a tag team champion. He and Caiman collided, with Caiman's natural physical prowess matching up against Blood's savvy! Blood gritted his teeth and attacked Caiman, who has proved his ability to hang with the best of them. Blood smashed Caiman with the Blood Bath, and even wound up busting the gatorman open! Caiman retaliated with his own impressive offense and drew blood as well!
Caiman kept looking for the HANDICAPPER but couldn't hit it, while Blood worked the knee over! Caiman used his fifth limb as a powerful asset, sweeping Blood's legs with his tail and hitting a somesault senton off the ropes! Blood went for the SCAR TISSUE, but Caiman managed to fight to the ropes! Blood dragged him off the ropes and hit the Blood Bath, before locking in SCAR TISSUE again and finally making a tired and bloody Galaxian champion give in! Blood is the new champion!
Winner and NEW GWF Galaxian Champion: Blood via submission.
- Jammer came to the ring to celebrate, and in a wholly unnecessary move, Defiance gave Caiman a beatdown and threw him over the ropes to the floor!
GWF Arena Show 8/9/83 Ceres Ampitheatre
Montrol vs Vice (w/Polarity)
- No one much cares for either one of these wrestlers, but Vice is particulalry unlikeable. He pinned Montrol after a low blow.
Winner: Vice via pinfall.
Star Warrior vs Mangus, Destroyer of Humans
- Star Warrior and Mangus locked up, with Star Warrior once more relishing in the fact that his skill is growing by the day and he's getting comparable to the best in the GWF. Unfortunately, his ego is growing too, and he took advantage of a retreating Mangus by smacking him in the back of the head with a chair!
Winner: Mangus via DQ.
Commander Sam & Omega vs The Wind Riders
- Sam and Omega haven't exactly been burning up the charts since reuniting, but they did alright here, beating The Wind Riders when Omega pinned Rama after the Cosmic War Dance.
Winners: Sam & Omega via pinfall.
- As Sam and Omega were walking to the back, they encountered Morpheus, who was on his way to the ring! Morpheus and Omega exchanged an intense glare, then went their seperate ways.
Lord Nexus vs Morpheus
- Morpheus loomed over the much smaller Nexus, charging him on the attack, but Nexus was quick to sidestep. He used his great speed to play hit and run on Morpheus, and even caught the legendary star with his TITAN DROP! Nexus rolled him up for the pin, scoring perhaps the biggest win of his career!
Winner: Nexus via pinfall.
Caiman & Hechilles vs Defiance
- Talk about akward. Hechilles and especially Caiman looked like they had a bone to pick as they met Defiance. Hechilles and Jammer actually seemed to be kind of peripheral to this whole thing, as Caiman was trying to get at Blood, as much for that beatdown after their match as anything. In the end, Caiman got pinned when Blood dropkicked his knee out and made the cover.
Winners: Defiance via pinfall.
- Hechilles confronted Blood...but Caiman recovered and attacked the champion! He caught Blood with the HANDICAPPER, folding him over in two, while Hechilles fought off Jammer!
GWF Tag Team Champions K.O. Keller & The Mighty Grogan vs Polarity (w/Vice)
- One week away from Collision of the Stars XV and The Gamemasters' shot at the titles upcoming, they watched this bout with great interest to see who would enter that show as champions. Keller and Grogan were all too happy to meet Polarity again, and Vice encouraged Sin to do all kinds of damage! In the end, Polarity's hopes were dashed when Grogan exhibited rare high-flying abilities and hit Sin with a flying cross body press for the win!
Winners and STILL GWF Tag Team Champions: Keller & Grogan via pinfall.
- Vice caught Keller with a low blow and snapped him to the floor, then entered the ring and attacked Grogan! Sin recovered and slipped his brass knucks on...then hammered Grogan! He used the KNUCKLE SANDWICH repeatedly, leaving Grogan a bloody mess on the mat!
Administrative Decisions
"Thank you for coming."
Omega looked out among the scattered wrestlers...the roster of the GWF. Split into various groups, keeping to themselves. The Gamemasters, Mangus, The Gang of Three, Morpheus, Montrol. Caiman and Hechilles were on one side of the more collected group, with Defiance on the other.
"As you know. we have Collision of the Stars XV coming up...as well as Ring of Honor VIII. We have some issues that must be discussed before then. First off, the Galaxian title will be defended at Collision of the Stars XV."
Blood didn't say anything, but he did make a face as he shifted the title on his shoulder.
"Blood will make his first title defense on that show, against the man he beat for the belt, Caiman."
Caiman and Blood exchanged looks.
"I know you're not one hundred percent. Next time, be a more gracious winner. Next, we come to the Tag Team titles."
K.O. Keller and Mighty Grogan, whose head was bandaged, looked at The Gamemasters and then Omega.
"Due to The Gamemasters winning their title shot at gold Rush '83, their title match with Keller and Grogan will happen at Collision of the Stars, despite Grogan's injuries."
The Gamemasters smiled, Keller frowned and Grogan just nodded. The Gang of Three, or Sin and Vice, at least, let out a mocking laugh.
"That leads me to the final part, Ring of Honor. As it happens, there are no need for qualifying matches this year. Jammer and The Wind Riders are to be excluded based off of their lack of singles victories or pursuit of a singles schedule. That only leaves us with two wrestlers too many. The last few years, we have settled situations like this by having tag team partners wrestle each other...but The Gang of Three has informed me that they refuse to face each other. So I am disqualifying Sin and Salvation from any kind of consideration for the tournament."
Vice let loose a string of profanities and Sin did the same. Salvation even seemed annoyed at this announcement, while much of the rest of the roster made various signs of approval!
"You're treading a very dangerous line, Omega! Don't screw with the Gang of Three!" Vice warned.
"You don't scare me, Vice. Your punk thugs don't scare me, and Jack Hood never scared me. In fact, I'm making a couple of more matches for Collision of the Stars right now...you are going to step into the ring with the most cantankerous member of the roster, Morpheus. As for Polarity...me and Sam'll see you in the ring. Good luck, everybody."
The room buzzed with response to Omega's controversial decrees!
GWF Collision of the Stars XV 8/15/83 Deimos Intergalactic Arena, Mars
The Wind Riders vs Silvar & Mimic
- Another bout between these two teams...Silvar and Mimic looked good again, with Mimic making Rama submit to the MIME NERVE SLEEPER.
Winners: Silvar & Mimic via submission.
- Silvar and Mimic celebrated in odd fashion, by dancing a bizarre dance. The fans weren't real happy, but brightened up when The Wind Riders double-dropkicked Silvar through the ropes, and backdropped a charging Mimic over the ropes! Unfortunately, Mimic hit his head on the way down and lay very still, until he could be helped from the ring!
Lord Nexus vs Montrol
- Montrol's win over Nexus looks more and more like luck, as this time he fell prey to the TITAN DROP!
Winner: Nexus via pinfall.
- Montrol attacked post-match and laid a chair on Nexus' stomach...then went up top and hit the MONTROL STEAMROLLER! Nexus was crushed under it!
Hechilles vs Jammer
- Caiman and Blood are a pretty good match. Hechilles and Jammer are not. Jammer met THE END.
Winner: Hechilles via pinfall.
Commander Sam & Omega vs Polarity (w/Vice)
- The old guys came to fight, as did Sin! Salvation came to wrestle! Despite the bravado put forth by Sam and Omega, the younger squad seemed to hold the cards as Salvation caught Omega with the FIGURE EIGHT ROLL-UP for the pin!
Winners: Polarity via pinfall.
Morpheus vs Vice (w/Polarity)
- Morpheus smacked Vice around from the onset, taking out his crankiness on the leader of the Gang of Three! Unfortunately, Vice is turning into quite the iconoclast, and thanks to a well-timed distraction by Sin, he got the upperhand! His dirty tactics took Morpheus down a peg, and Vice was happy enough to leave him limp on the floor and take a countout win.
Winner: Vice via countout.
GWF Galaxian Champion Blood vs Caiman
- Blood was clearly not happy with having to wrestle this match. Caiman looked like a predator stalking his prey, and he did some damage early on. Blood bailed out of the ring at one point and snatched the title belt, smacking Caiman with it and going for the pin, but Caiman kicked out! Caiman, looking vengeful, hunted Blood down and hit the HANDICAPPER, putting him down center ring and winning his second Galaxian title!
Winner and NEW Galaxian Champion: Caiman via pinfall.
GWF Tag Team Champions K.O. Keller & Mighty Grogan vs The Gamemasters
- Keller kept his partner out of the ring and went to work on The Gamemasters! Cosmos tried to duke it out with Keller, but ate some lefts and rights and got sent reeling! Star Warrior tagged in and took Keller out with a springboard clothesline, and the Gamemasters began dismantling Keller. Keller wouldn't go down, but he wouldn't tag out, either! He finally broke down and did the unthinkable...he hit the referee square in the jaw! Star Warrior and Cosmos were horrified, because Keller had just gotten his team DQed!
Winners: The Gamemasters via DQ.
- They did not take it well! The Gamemasters attacked the bloody Keller and threw him out of the ring, and nailed the injured Grogan, knocking him to the floor! They kicked the referee through the ropes and went on a rampage, throwing chairs, ripping off the ring apron and tearing at the turnbuckles! They even overturned the timekeeper's table and dismantled the ring steps! The frustration and disbelief they were feeling was quite evident!
GWF Arena Show 8/23/83 Deimos Intergalactic Arena, Mars
Jammer vs Montrol
- Jammer was quick on the attack, beating Montrol down and locking him in the BAD NIGHT to finish him.
Winner: Jammer via submission.
Commander Sam vs Vice (w/Polarity)
- Sam's never backed down from a fight in his career, and even with Polarity at ringside he was raring to go. What followed was an intense brawl, that spilled to the floor! Sam even took a shot at Sin, before driving Vice into the guardrails! The referee tried to warn Sam to back off, but he wouldn't listen, so finally he was forced to award the match to Vice!
Winner: Vice via DQ.
K.O. Keller vs Omega
- Keller and Omega bumped fists before the match began, and locked up! Though time is clearly slowing both men down, each man still has enough grit to keep in the game. However, Keller's focus is more single-minded, what with no public disputes with his son or business partner, and that perhaps gave him the edge as he hammered Omega down with a series of windmill fists for the pin.
Winner: Keller via pinfall.
- Morpheus made his way to the ring, momentarily appearing to have a standoff with Keller, before he entered and hovered over Omega! He taunted Omega as he crawled to his feet! "I backed off while you and your boy were having issues. I'm through waiting, 'partner'. You tried to hurt me...so in two weeks, I'm gonna hurt you. Make the match."
The Wind Riders vs Polarity (w/Vice)
- A dominant win for Polarity, ending in Sin giving Rama the KNUCKLE SANDWICH.
Winners: Polarity via pinfall.
Star Warrior vs Mangus, Destroyer of Humans
- Star Warrior got quite the cold reception from the fans after the way Collision of the Stars ended. He and Mangus squared off and he looked good out there, fending off Mangus for much of the match. Unfortunately, he got into it with the referee, and decked him!
Winner: Mangus via DQ.
GWF Galaxian Champion Caiman vs Hechilles
- The partners did battle, giving it their all in a clean battle. Late in the match, Caiman hit a big move and Hechilles fell to the mat, clutching his shoulder in pain. Caiman told the referee to stop the match, but he refused! Caiman and the referee argued, with Caiman shoving the referee in frustration! That caused the match to end!
Winner: Hechilles via DQ.
- Caiman quickly moved to help Hechilles up, and back to the locker room.
Welcome back FTZ! Not too suprised Blood had a short reign, he just isn't good enough to hang on the top of the card, IMO. My boy KO went bad ass, eh? very nice I never would have thought to team him with Grogan. I liked the meeting as well, very good stuff as usual. Makes me want to play my ec fed again (I've been sticking to LoW of late)
Thanks, Wildfire!
I've really enjoyed Keller and Grogan this year...and that team just seemed to kind of grow organically, which is awesome. You should play EC again, definitely. Just like I should FINALLY start 2084...=P
GWF Arena Show 9/6/83 Deimos Intergalactic Arena, Mars
Cosmos vs Montrol
Cosmos, in preparation for the upcoming Ring of Honor tournament, took a singles match against Montrol here tonight. He smacked Montrol down and used his frightening combination of power, speed, ability and experience to dismantle Montrol and make him submit to the MASTERLOCK.
Winner: Cosmos via submission.
Tano vs Silvar
Silvar was seeking revenge for the damage that had been done to Mimic by The Wind Riders! Silvar overpowered Tano, but the high-flyer kept himself in the game with his speed. He knocked Silvar into the ropes and pummeled him, but also nailed the referee, causing a DQ!
Winner: Silvar via DQ.
Omega vs Morpheus
Two future Hall of Famers squared off! Omega has slowly slid down the ranks, while Morpheus has disappeared from the rankings, but no one can deny the amazing ability present in both men. It was Morpheus that came up short in this chapter, getting hammered with the TOMAHAWK THRUST and giving the win to Omega!
Winner: Omega via pinfall.
Commander Sam vs Vice (w/Polarity)
Sam didn't seem intimidated by the presence of Polarity at ringside, as he pummeled Vice! Vice summoned up every dirty trick he could, and even incorporated aid from Sin, but Sam hit SAM'S ATOMIC DROP and put the controversial thug away!
Winner: Sam via pinfall.
POW Rules Match Star Warrior vs Mangus, Destroyer of Humans
Star Warrior was clearly unfocused, wanting a rematch for the tag team titles, not this bout with Mangus. That lack of focus on the issue at hand perhaps cost him, and he got hit with the ANNIHILATOR! Mangus got the pin!
Winner: Mangus via pinfall.
GWF Galaxian Champions Mighty Grogan & K.O. Keller vs Defiance
Grogan still wasn't 100%, so Keller did most of the proverbial “heavy-lifting”. When Defiance began to overwhelm him, he went back to the well he used in the Gamemasters match...and slugged the referee! The fans cheered as Keller offered a sheepish grin in response!
Winners: Defiance via DQ.
GWF Ring of Honor VIII 9/20/83 Mira Ceti War Memorial, Cetus
First Round Hechilles vs Silvar
The opening match saw Hechilles at his finest, coming off of his shoulder injury in his recent match with Caiman. Silvar saw THE END and Hechilles advanced.
Winner: Hechilles via pinfall.
Caiman vs Montrol
The champion squared off with Montrol, and the match was the mismatch it appears to be on paper. Caiman crushed Montrol with the HANDICAPPER and put him down!
Winner: Caiman via pinfall.
Lord Nexus vs Mimic
Mimic was pretty clearly still not 100%, and while Nexus didn't seem to outright exploit that injury, he did manage to thwart Mimic by hitting the TITAN DROP and scoring the pin!
Winner: Nexus via pinfall.
K.O. Keller vs Cosmos
Cosmos and Keller both looked downright eager for this match! Keller was looking for the chance to smack Cosmos around a bit, while Cosmos feels like Keller cheated he and Star Warrior out of tag gold! Keller brawled, but Cosmos has moved beyond a one dimensional approach, and managed to take one of the tag team champions down and make him submit to the MASTERLOK!
Winner: Cosmos via submission.
Mighty Grogan vs Blood
Grogan, one half of the tag team champions, and Blood fought a Match of the Year contender just one year ago in this very event. This year didn't see such a Match of the Year contender, but it did see Blood overcome Grogan after a tough fight and put him out with SCAR TISSUE.
Winner: Blood via submission,
Vice (w/Polarity) vs Morpheus
The last time these two fought, Morpheus came up short due to a countout. This time, he unloaded on Vice from the beginning! His size and strength afforded him an advantage, but Vice is all about cheapshots. He took control with his wicked ways and a little help from his friends. Vice worked Morpheus over and hit WICKEDNESS, but Morpheus kicked out! He rallied back and crushed Vice with the Natural Disaster, then just beat the leader of The Gang of Three bloody!
The TRIP TO HADES nearly put Vice down, and Morpheus took advantage of relaxed DQs by smashing first Vice and then Salvation with a chair! He threw a chair at Sin, sending him scurrying! Vice, wearing a crimson mask, ran from Morpheus and suckered him into a surprise attack from Sin! He sent Morpheus back to the ring and took control, but Morpheus rose again! In the end, Sin slid in the ring while Vice grabbed the referee, and he nailed Morpheus in the throat with a chair! Morpheus collapsed and Vice pounced on him, smashing him with the WICKEDNESS and scoring the pin!
Winner: Vice via pinfall.
Commander Sam vs Star Warrior
Sam smacked the son of Omega in the face to kick this battle off! He manhandled Star Warrior with no sense of remorse, but Star Warrior fought back! Unfortunately, he looked a bit reckless and set himselt up for Sam to hit SAM'S ATOMIC DROP, which allowed Sam to put the youngster away!
Winner: Sam via pinfall.
Omega vs Mangus, Destroyer of Humans
These two men are completely familiar with each other. Mangus was basically fighting for the chance to meet Sam in the next round, but Omega robbed him of that with a well-placed TOMAHAWK THRUST!
Winner: Omega via pinfall.
Quarter Finals
Hechilles vs Caiman
These two partners faced off, with former Lord of the Ring and current Galaxian Champion Caiman looking for a second tournament win! Their last match ended in controversy when Caiman ordered it stopped due to Hechilles' injury, but this match would go on to a decisive end! Though no title was on the line, Hechilles rose to the occasion and hit THE END, dropping Caiman hard and advancing to the semifinals!
Winner: Hechilles via pinfall.
Lord Nexus vs Cosmos
Two of the young stars of the GWF squared off, each looking to face Hechilles in the semifinals! Nexus was looking to make a great showing in his first tournament, but Cosmos was ON tonight as he blasted him with the Cosmic Skull Smasher and wrapped him up for the pin!
Winner: Cosmos via pinfall.
Blood vs Vice (w/Polarity)
Blood beat the ever-loving crap out of Vice at the opening bell, but the dirty punk Vice hit a low blow! Vice went to work on Blood, but it didn't last long! He beat the snot out of Vice, sending him scurrying to the floor! Blood caught up with Vice and drove him hard into the ringpost, a couple of times, causing the referee to throw the match out!
Winner: Vice via DQ.
Commander Sam vs Omega
The partners squared off, Sam's second match in the tournament also being against a member of the “first family”. Sam overwhelmed Omega, his strength and vigor seeming a tad much for his mentor, and hit SAM'S ATOMIC DROP to eliminate the reigning Lord of the Ring!
Winner: Sam via pinfall.
Semifinals Hechilles vs Cosmos
Hechilles can be an intimidating guy to be facing off with, because he's got all the natural talent in the galaxy to bring to bear on you, as well as one brutal finisher. Looking to score his first Lord of the Ring win, Hechilles got perhaps a bit desperate when he realized that Cosmos wasn't just going to roll over! This led to a bloody Cosmos luring Hechilles in an locking on the MASTERLOCK for the submission!
Winner: Cosmos via submission.
Vice (w/ Polarity) vs Commander Sam
Vice looked like his luck might be running out as he faced Sam! Sam pummeled him, but Vice managed to take advantage of a distraction from Sin and a low blow to hit WICKEDNESS to score the pin!
Winner: Vice via pinfall.
Non-Tournament Match The Wind Riders vs Polarity (w/Vice)
Vice opted to use the break in tournament action to ensure a victory on the part of Polarity! He was ever present at ringside, but The Wind Riders kept their heads in the game and thwarted the best efforts of The Gang of Three, catching Sin with the DEIMOS DRIVER, allowing Rama to get the pin!
Winners: The Wind Riders via pinfall.
Lord of the Ring Finals Cosmos vs Vice (w/Polarity)
One of the more surprising finales in tournament history! Cosmos is still riding high off of the Gold Rush win with Star Warrior! He's also not a fan of The Gang of Three, and was eager to have his crack at Vice! Cosmos managed to get Vice down and lock on the MASTERLOCK, and Polarity looked on in horror as Vice gave up!
Vice took control in the second fall, but was on a roll, and used his amazing combination of abilities to thwart him! He even hit Sin with a baseball slide for good measure, before crushing Vice with a shoulderbreaker for the pin! Cosmos became the first man to ever win both tournaments in the same year!
Winner: Cosmos 2-0.
Omega came to the ring with the trophy and the Ring of Honor, and awarded them to Cosmos! Cosmos accepted them, and then got on the stick!
Cosmos: “Keller screwed us out of our title match, Omega, you know it and everyone else knows it. Now, there's not going to be another Collision of the Stars for a while, so I'm gonna need something to hold me over until then. So I want you to make our rematch for the belts, right now!”
Omega took the mic and looked at Cosmos thoughtfully.
Omega: “You're absolutely right. Keller took out the referee because he was basically fighting solo. Now, two weeks ago, Defiance challenged for the belts and got a DQ win themselves...so I'm giving them their rematch in two weeks. You and Star Warrior will face the winners of that match on November 1st...and to keep things fair, I will referee!”
3rd Quarter Rankings 2083
GWF Galaxian Champion: Caiman (c) 1. Hechilles (2) 2. Omega (1) 3. Commander Sam (3) 4. Vice (5) 5. Lord Nexus (-) 6. Cosmos (-) 7. K.O. Keller (9) 8. Salvation (8) 9. Mighty Grogan (6) 10. Blood (7)
- Caiman's making a good year of it as Omega slips a bit, but Vice, Nexus and Cosmos inject some new blood in the upper ranks. Keller kicks up a bit of forward momentum, while his partner Grogan slips. Hechilles stands perched for another shot at the gold after beating Caiman in the tournament.
GWF Tag Team Champions: K.O. Keller & Mighty Grogan (3) 1. Defiance (c) 2. The Gamemasters (1) 3. Caiman & Hechilles (2) 4. Polarity (4) 5. Silvar & Mimic (5)
- Grogan and Keller take the belts, but their position looks awful precarious from here. Defiance and The Gamemasters are chomping at the bit, each holding DQ wins over Keller & Grogan.
GWF Superstar Profile #33: Cosmos
Notable Accomplishments Youngest Debuting Wrestler in GWF History Gold Rush '83 Winner (w/Star Warrior) Lord of the Ring 2083 First Wrestler to Win Both Tournaments in the Same Year
Greatest Match: vs Vice, September 20th, 2083. With his hated enemies Polarity at ringside, and after going through K.O. Keller, Lord Nexus and Hechilles while watching Vice cheat and sneak past Commander Sam, Morpheus and Blood, Cosmos put an end to Vice's charge for the Ring of Honor and, in doing so, became the first man to ever win both the Gold Rush and Ring of Honor in the same year!
Toughest Opponents: Mangus. Mangus was the guy that made Cosmos' early years hell by constantly beating him virtually every time they've wound up in the ring together. That's an honor he can still claim, due largely to the fact that they tend to not face off much anymore.
Most Hated Opponent: Sin. Cosmos hates the whole Gang of Three. Never get mistaken on that point. Cosmos truly hates Sin, though, and he probably doesn't even know why. Sin has focused on Cosmos since arriving in the GWF, and much blood has been shed in the name of this feud.
Favorite Maneuver: THE MASTERLOCK. Omega teaching Cosmos this version of the figure four seems to have sealed the transformation from boy to man for Cosmos. What's frightening, is that he seems to get even better at locking it in as he gets older.
In Their Own Words: "Star Warrior and I are the uncrowned champions and everyone knows it. Can you sense it? There's a definite change in the air! The new generation is taking their place, reaching out for their destiny! The face of wrestling is shifting, and I will be that face!”
