News & Notes
Wolf is high and mighty at the end of the year as he celebrates his 10th month as Galaxian champion. The year started out with Thantos defending his title against Star Warrior at Domination, one of the biggest shows the GWF ever held. Wolf put his name in for contendership and won the belt a month later at Face Off. Since then Wolf fought off Lord Nexus, Comrade Terror, Exo-King, Thantos, Executioner and finally Star Warrior to keep the title in his clutches. With his biggest win just happening at Galactimania against Star Warrior, fans are left wondering who if anybody can take the champion down. Thantos is still desperate to get the gold back, but has been defeated by Wolf at every title opportunity. Commander Sam might step up after finally getting the better of Comrade Terror in their feud. Star Warrior and Lord Nexus can claim second chances. Exo-King and Executioner are the only two who have beaten Wolf decisively all year. Wolf already got past Executioner but Exo-King is certain to demand a shot.

Just as they started the year, the Greek Gods finish 2087 as Tag Team champions. However, it was the Gladiators of Aethra that dominated the tag ranks for the majority of GWF events. After winning the belts from Greek Gods at Face Off, Brute & Massacre kept the belts for three months until Star Warrior and Massif defeated them in a Cosmic Cage match that main evented Caged Slaughter. The Gladiators won the belts back a month later at Court of Infamy. The Greek Gods were the biggest threat to the champions, both teams having classic matches for the rest of 2087, including a controversial 2/3 Falls main event at Elimination where the Greek Gods were DQ'ed in both the second and final falls. Actagon and Proteus finally won back the gold at Galactimania in a Titan Death match. The Gladiators are likely to get a rematch and it seems they can only be beaten in specialty matches. Fans are still clamouring for the feud to continue, but who knows what challengers will appear in 2088?

Monolith just regained the IP Title and demanded that Comm Massif give him a Galaxian Title shot on the next card...well Comm Massif said okay...BUT he also told Monolith that he would have to vacate the IP Title to get the match! Monolith instantly agreed throwing the IP Championship at Comm Massif and then ripping the door off of his office. On Card #8 Disaster will defend the Galaxian Title vs. Monolith and the first round of the IP Championship Tournament will take place. This will be Monolith's first Galaxian Title match for Pete Promotions...can he win the Title or will Disaster continue his current reign atop the federation? (I'll let you know after wrestling the card!)

Monolith has really struggled in singles matches with Tauran all year and dropped out of the Galactic scene, but has been dominating the Hardcore division against Wolf for some really interesting matches. Also in my fed if you ever win the galactic title within that "year" you are not eligible for the IP strap.
